지열발전을 위해 심부에 인공적으로 균열대를 생성시키는 EGS (Enhanced/Engineered Geothermal System) 지열발전 기술에서는 유체의 이동통로가 되는 균열의 연결성 향상이 매우 중요하며, 다단계에 걸쳐 이루어지는 수압파쇄시 발생되는 균열의 정보는 미소진동 모니터링을 통해 확인이 가능하다. 하지만 각 단계별 수압파쇄시 발생되는 균열에 의해 변화된 속도구조를 고려하지 않고 미소진동 모니터링을 수행하게 되면, 다음 단계의 수압파쇄시 발생된 균열의 위치정보는 실제 위치와는 차이를 보이게 된다. 이 연구에서는 Kim et al. (2015)에 의해 개발된 미소진동 위치역산 알고리듬을 심부 수 km 하부를 대상으로 하는 EGS 지열발전에 적합하도록 개선시켰으며, 각 단계별 수압파쇄시 발생되는 균열에 의해 변화된 속도구조를 측정된 미소진동 자료를 이용하여 영상화할 수 있는 3차원 속도역산 알고리듬을 개발하였다. 아이코날 방정식(Eikonal equation)을 사용하여 단순 층서구조뿐만 아니라 복잡한 속도구조의 경우에도 적용가능하도록 하였고 그림자 영역(shadow zone)에 대해서도 어느 위치에서나 정확한 주시계산이 이루어지도록 하였으며, 프레넬 볼륨(Fresnel volume)을 이용한 자코비안(Jacobian) 계산을 통하여 속도역산의 계산시간을 효과적으로 단축시켰다. 또한, EGS 사이트를 모사한 속도모델에서 얻어진 미소진동 자료를 개발된 알고리듬에 적용시킨 결과, 전 단계에 이루어진 수압파쇄에 의해 변화된 속도를 반영하는 향상된 속도모델을 얻을 수 있었고 이를 이용하여 위치 재결정을 수행한 결과 실제 위치와 거의 일치하는 결과를 얻었다.

본 논문에서는 신경망을 이용하여 자동차 번호판을 찾는 방법을 제안한다. 신경망은 영상의 윈도우들을 분석하기 위한 필터로 사용되며 이 윈도우가 번호판을 포함하는지의 여부를 결정한다. 후 처리기는 필터링된 영상들로부터 번호판의 최종 위치를 지정한다. 신경망을 이용한 필터링 방법은 잡음이 많은 영상과 해상도가 ？은 영상을 처리할 때 유용하다. 주차장과 도로상에서 자동차 영상들을 실험한 결과 각각 96%와 92.0%의 확률로 번호판을 추출했다. 이 실험결과에서는 제안된 방법이 현실 세계의 상황에 유용함을 제시한다.

A convergence behavior is under investigation near a simple real zero for the k-fold pseudo-Olver's method defined by extending the classical Olver's method. The order of convergence is shown to be at least k+3. The asymptotic error constant is explicitly given in terms of k and the corresponding simple zero. Various numerical examples with a proposed zero-finding algorithm are successfully confirmed with the use of symbolic and computational ability of Mathematica.

In this paper, we propose a simple and efficient data input/output block with high speed between Motorola MPC8XX microprocessor and memory devices. Proposed method is capable of high speed data read and write using the address decoder and the burst cycle between Motorola PowerPC based MPC8XX microprocessor and fixed address locating memory devices such as FIFO, PCMCIA card, and so on. Experimental results are given our findings and discussions.

During the operation of military aircraft, maintenance is divided into organizational, intermediate and depot maintenance. In the depot maintenance, after removal of major parts and removable doors, damage assessment is performed. Locating damage, charactering the damage and determining its extent, zoning the damage on the part being repaired and re-evaluation of the damaged area after damage removal. Repair joints are classified by bonded joints and bolted joints, depending on joining material. In this paper, repair method in aging aircraft is investigated and the possibility of application of copmposite patch is surveyed.

We describe tests for detecting and locating quantitative traits loci (QTL) for traits in Hanwoo. Lod scores and a permutation test have been described. From results of a permutation test to detect QTL, we select major DNA markers of BMS1167 microsatellite locus in Hanwoo chromosome 17 for further analysis. K-means clustering analysis applied to four traits and eight DNA markers in BMS1167 resulted in three cluster groups. We conclude that the major DNA markers of BMS1167 microsatellite locus in Hanwoo chromosome 17 are markers 100bp, 108bp and 110bp.

The hydraulic cylinder is used for actuating a sluice gate which controls the volume of water in the reservoir. Generally, the one cylinder type is used to operate the sluice gate. In order to reduce the required cylinder force to operate the sluice gate significantly, the sequentially operated-hydraulic cylinders type is designed and the optimal locating points of cylinders are searched using the complex method that is one kind of constrained direct search method.

Genetic association case-control studies using DNA pools are efficient ways of detecting association between a marker allele and disease status. DNA pooling is an efficient screening method for locating susceptibility genes associated with the disease. However, DNA pooling is efficient only when allele frequency estimation is done precisely and accurately. Through the evaluation of empirical type I errors and empirical powers by simulation, we will evaluate the methods that correct for preferential amplification of nucleotides when estimating the allele frequency of single-nucleotide polymorphisms.

Measurements of strain near a crack tip with electrical resistance strain gages do not usually provide a reliable value of stress intensity factor (K sub I) because of local yielding and limited regions for strain-gage placement. This paper attempted to define a valid region and to indicate procedures for locating and orienting the strain-gage to determine stress intensity factor accurately from one stain-gage readings.

This study Is an measurement and prediction of transmission loss through dash panel with multi-path in a vehicle. Measurement results of transmission loss are decided by sound power measured using the sound intensity method under locating a sound source in the anechoic room and reverberant room, respectively. Prediction one is decided by multi-path analysis of dash panel composed by a various part of materials and complicated shape. Finally, two results show a great agreement between measured and predicted transmission loss.
