One part of a form can be described locally(itself as a whole)and globally(as a part of the whole). How each of the two (double)descriptions is processed and what relationships the one has with the other are among important questions of perception.Previous studies had been on whether global processing progresses faster or slower than local processing.This study,however,focused on charateristics of the two processings.The task was that subjects identify global or local name of a compound stimulus briefly exposured.Repetition effects were meansured under three displaying conditions with two types of stimulus set.The result pattern shows that global/local processing is a dynamic phenomenon with its own properties and variability on conditions as well.

The purpose of this study was to determine whether foodservice brand language localization affects consumer attitudes in terms of similar brand image recognition with an original brand. Many global foodservice companies have tried to modify their own brand identity according to local situations in order to attract more consumers. According to this study's results, consumers who similarly recognized both the original brand image and localization brand image tended to have greater purchase intention than those who did not recognize them similarly. In addition, when the original brand identity was changed to the local language, consumers more similarly conceived the original brand image and localization. And for local store marketing, foodservice companies should have a thorough marketing research plan since there can be difference results according to brand name recognition gaps or demographic characteristics. Original brand image similarity recognition by consumers affected their attitudes. In other words, the group that similarly recognized both the original brand company image and the localization brand company image tended to have greater purchase intention. Because brand language plays an important role in consumer attitudes with respect to recognizing a brand and distinguishing another brand, this study suggests that franchise foodservice companies have a local store marketing plan.

This paper is a study on the word recognition using neural network. A limited vocabulary, speaker independent, isolated word recognition system has been built. This system recognizes isolated word without performing segmentation, phoneme identification, or dynamic time wrapping. It needs a static pattern approach to recognize a spatio-temporal pattern. The preprocessing only includes preceding and tailing silence removal, and word length determination. A LPC analysis is performed on each of 24 equally spaced frames. The PARCOR coefficients plus 3 other features from each frame is extracted. In order to simplify a structure of neural network, we composed binary code form to decrease output nodes.

This paper is a preliminary attempt at making sense of the increasingly common use of the term ASEAN Studies as interchangeable with, or as replacement for the older and more established counterpart. It speculates on whether this development represents the beginning among local people of "owning" the region, as well as whether this forms part of the continuing effort to wrest the initiative or control of knowledge production in and about Southeast Asia.

Study of the fourteen meridians that include name of P'ung(風) point. The results were summarized as follows. 1. Pyongp'ung(秉風) is located middle of the supraspinatous fossa(Small intestine Meridian, 手太陽小腸經). we can cute the local area disease and also use to cure the pathway of the Arm greater yang small intestine which is attacked by P'ung(風) disease. 2. Yep'ung(翳風) is located behind the lobule of the auricle, in the depression between the mastoid process and the mandible(Triple Energizer Meridian, 手少陽三焦經). we can cure the local area disease especially hyper yang disease and also use to cure the pathway of the Arm lesser yang triple energizer which is attacked by P'ung(風) and Yo'l(熱) disease. 3. P'ungmun(風門) is located 1.5 chon beside the lower end of the spine of the second thoracic vertebra(Bladder Meridian, 足太陽膀胱經). we can cure the local area disease and also use to cure the pathway of the Leg greater yang bladder which is attacked by P'ung(風) disease. 4. P'ungbu(風府) is located 1 chon above the middle of natural line of the hair at the back of the head, in the depression below the occiptal protuberance(Governor meridian, 督脈). It connects (Liver meridian, 足厥陰肝經) and Yin Link Vessel(陽維脈). we can cure the rigidity and pain in head and nape which is related Yin Link Vessel(陽維脈). 5. P'ungshi(風市) is located on the lateral part of the thigh, 7 hon above the patella(From the greater trochanter to the knee joint is 19 chon, Gallbladder Meridian (足少陽膽經). we can cure the local area disease(leg, knee, etc). 6. P'ungji(風池) is located Below the occipital bone, in the depression on the outer part of the trapezius muscle(Gallbladder Meridian, 足少陽膽經) on a level with P'ungbu(風府) (Governor vessel, 督脈). we can cure the local area disease and also use to cure the pathway of the Leg lesser yang gall bladder which is attacked by P'ung(風) disease.

(1) structure of writings, (2) construction of paragraphs. (3) structure of sentences, (4) use of words were most important things on local information composition. To be expertise system, the Knowledge-base had the writing frames for essay structure and paragraph frames for construction of paragraph. To refer to the clause and sentence structure and to the use of words, Example dictionaries were offered. It is necessary to make nore precise rule for (1) extracting subject name of the frames and (2) making representative word of sentences for advanced system in the future.

The purpose of this study is to suggest better ways for operating Slowcity Sangju based on the literature reviews about Participatory planning and empirical investigation. As a form of participatory planning, survey was conducted and examined the perception of residents toward importance of different sub-plans in operating Slowcity. The results show that the residents in Sangju have high level of preference on the economy related plans such as adding values to local products by applying the name of Slowcity to their resources. In addition, the more expectation and understanding to slowcity they have, the more interested in the participatory process and slowcity planning the residents become. Consequently, this research suggests that it is required for successful participatory planning of Slowcity to building an association for operating Slowcity with local peoples.

Simyak (審藥) was a government officer to lowest, but it was appointed and dispatched directly by officials from the central government. Simyak played a role in mediating between the provincial and central health care. Therefore, understanding Simyak is necessarily required in the researches on the local health care in Joseon dynasty. Preceding researches of Simyak only have contained superficial information causing many errors. The purpose of this paper is to understand Simyak correctly through the historical literature review. The author found the following facts in this study. First, Simyak was succeeded to the government officer of Uihakgyoyou (醫學敎諭) in the previous period. Second, through the change of the name of Simyak, it can be presumed that the main task of Simyak was changed from the role in local medical education to the officer sending the herbs to the central government. Third, in the later Joseon dynasty Simyak was monopolized by some families just like any other medical officials. Fourth, Yangdowollyengui (兩都月令醫) and Tongyeongguryogwan (統營救療官) can also be put in the category of Simyak.

In Japan, at least 28 local winds are known by name, most of them associated with downslope windstorms and gap winds. To review these windstorms, we categorize them based largely on the atmospheric conditions and formation mechanisms, and then focus on representative examples. These representative cases include the "Yamaji­kaze", a typical downslope windstorm, the "Hirodo-­kaze", a downslope windstorm induced by a nearby typhoon (intense tropical cyclone), and the "Karak-kaze", a downslope wind with a clear diurnal variation. Other downslope winds such as the "Inami-kaze" and the gap wind "Kiyokawa­dashi" are also described. Among these winds, the "Yamaji-kaze", "Hirodo-kaze", and "Kiyokawa-dashi" are considered the three most notorious due to their destructive power. After describing and comparing these winds, we discuss remaining issues to be considered in future studies.

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to devise a way of the dental hygienist to explore the articles of dental hygienist that were presented in the newspaper during the recent 3 years of Korea. Methods : This study is to examine dental hygienist articles with content analysis in the KINDS(Korean Integrated News Database System) of the Korean Press Foundation. Data were gathered from the printed newspaper of Korea over a period of 3 years - 1 March, 2005 to 30 March 2008. News reports, comments and letters to the editor were analysed, which revealed an image of dental hygienist that we would like to explore and debate. The obtained data from the frequency, percentage, chi-squared test between categories after inter-coder reliability test (reliability 0.96). Results : The articles of dental hygienist according to type of newspaper, 'local newspaper' showed higher frequency than 'metropolitan newspaper'. It mix '치과위생사'(42.3%), '치위생사'(49.4%), and '위생사'(3.9%) in use of name. The article pattern, 'news' 40.0%, 'information commentary' 18.3%, 'interview man' 15.8%, 'special news' 14.2% in metropolitan newspaper, then, 'news' 72.6%, 'information commentary' 23.2% in local newspaper (p<0.05). Most plenty of subject is 'administration system', and then 'celebration', 'publicity'. It showed 'seoul' was 'information commentary', 'country' was 'administration system', 'whole' was 'legal duty', 'unrelated area' was 'social living' in the topic of article according to newsbeat(p<0.05). Conclusions : These results suggest that it is necessary to publicity name, duty of dental hygienist in metropolitan newspaper officially.
