한반도 남부의 지역규모식 검토 (Review on $M_L$ Scales in Southern Korea)

  • 한반도 남부의 지진으로부터 Richter의 원래 정의에 따라 유도된 지역규모식들을 검토하였다. 이들 지역규모식들의 비교를 위하여 2000년부터 2004년 사이에 발생한 126개 지진의 광대역 속도기록 자료를 이용하여 지역규모식의 거리수정항을 다음과 같이 새롭게 결정하였다. - log A 0 = 1.017 log ( r/17) + 0.00028 ( r - 17)2 +2 .0 이 결과는 한반도 남부의 변위 감쇠율이 미국 서부 지역보다는 낮고 동부지역보다는 높은 값이다. 이 결과는 김성균, 박민아(2002)가 제안한 지역규모식과 거의 일치한다. 이전에 연구된 지역규모식들의 차이는 주로 사용된 자료의 제한성에 기인하는 것으로 추정된다.

Impact of Diverse Configuration in Multivariate Bias Correction Methods on Large-Scale Climate Variable Simulations under Climate Change

  • Bias correction of values is a necessary step in downscaling coarse and systematically biased global climate models for use in local climate change impact studies. In addition to univariate bias correction methods, many multivariate methods which correct multiple variables jointly - each with their own mathematical designs - have been developed recently. While some literature have focused on the inter-comparison of these multivariate bias correction methods, none have focused extensively on the effect of diverse configurations (i.e., different combinations of input variables to be corrected) of climate variables, particularly high-dimensional ones, on the ability of the different methods to remove biases in uni- and multivariate statistics. This study evaluates the impact of three configurations (inter-variable, inter-spatial, and full dimensional dependence configurations) on four state-of-the-art multivariate bias correction methods in a national-scale domain over South Korea using a gridded approach. An inter-comparison framework evaluating the performance of the different combinations of configurations and bias correction methods in adjusting various climate variable statistics was created. Precipitation, maximum, and minimum temperatures were corrected across 306 high-resolution (0.2°) grid cells and were evaluated. Results show improvements in most methods in correcting various statistics when implementing high-dimensional configurations. However, some instabilities were observed, likely tied to the mathematical designs of the methods, informing that some multivariate bias correction methods are incompatible with high-dimensional configurations highlighting the potential for further improvements in the field, as well as the importance of proper selection of the correction method specific to the needs of the user.

V-M 성형술을 이용한 지간구축 및 합지증의 교정 임상례 (Clinical Experiences about Correction of Web Space Contracture and Syndactyly using V-M Plasty)

  • Purpose: The loss of web space is caused by congenital syndactyly or acquired burn injury, trauma or surgery. Numerous surgical procedures have been described for restoration of the web space. Local flaps are usually preferred because of the easiness to perform and tolerable postoperative outcome. Among the various local flaps, the authors introduce V-M plasty for correction of web space contracture and syndactyly. Method: From March 2007 to Jun 2008, 4 patients underwent V-M plasty for correction of web space contracture and syndactyly. V-M plasty consists of 3 distinct triangular flaps. One triangular flap is designed next to the web region on the dorsal site of the hand, whereas the remaining 2 triangular flaps are placed on the volar site. The dorsal triangular flap is then placed between the volar adjacent triangular flaps. At the end of the operation, the involved fingers or toes are positioned in abduction to avoid kinking of the triangular flaps. Result: All the patients gained web functions with good esthetic appearance without any recurrence or complications. Mean follow-up was 8 months. Conclusion: V-M plasty is a safe, easy and rapid procedure to design and apply by using local tissues without the needs for a skin graft or risk of linear scarring and recurrence. The authors advise this versatile technique both in primary and recurrent cases of web space contracture and syndactyly.

국지 우량계 보정 방법을 이용한 레이더 강우 조정 (Adjustment of Radar Precipitation Estimation Based on the Local Gauge Correction Method)

  • 우리나라에서 악기상으로 인한 재해 유발 가능성이 높아짐으로써, 방재 및 수자원 관리 대책이 필요하다. 국지성 강한 강우에 대한 방재를 위해서는 강우량을 정량적으로 관측 및 예측해야 한다. 본 연구에서는 레이더 강우추정 오차의 지구통계학적 유효반경을 LGC 방법에 적용하여 레이더 추정강우를 조정하는 기법을 개발하였다. 지구통계적 방법을 이용하여 레이더 강우의 실제오차에 대한 유효반경을 결정하였고, LGC 방법을 기반으로 여름철 집중호우 네 사례의 레이더 강우를 조정하였다. 여름철 집중호우 사례의 레이더 1시간 누적강우량과 총누적강우량의 오차는 조정 후 각각 약 40%와 60% 이상 개선효과를 보였다. 그러므로, 여름철 국지적으로 강한 강우 현상의 레이더강우를 예측하는데 있어서 본 연구에서 개발된 조정 알고리즘을 이용하는 것은 적절한 것으로 판단된다.

  • 본 연구에서는 안경의 광학적 특성에서 고안된 새로운 메타휴리스틱 최적화 알고리즘인 Vision Correction Algorithm(VCA)을 개발하였다. VCA는 안경광학분야에서 수행되는 검안과 교정과정을 최적해 탐색 과정에 적용한 기법으로 근시/원시교정-밝기조정-압축시행-난시교정의 과정을 거쳐 최적화를 수행하게 된다. 제안된 VCA는 기존의 메타휴리스틱 알고리즘과 달리 현재까지 축적된 최적화 결과를 기반으로 전역탐색과 국지탐색 적용 확률, 그리고 전역탐색의 방향이 자동적으로 조정 된다. 제안된 방법을 대표적인 최적화 문제(수학 및 공학 분야)에 적용하고, 그 결과를 기존 알고리즘들과 비교하여 제시하였다.

『한한대사전(漢韓大辭典)』에 보이는 『금병매사화(金瓶梅詞話)』 관련 어휘 오류연구(誤謬硏究) (A Study of Error Correction in Words Used in Chinese Novel Kam Pin Mui Presented in the Great Chinese-Korean Dictionary)

  • This article examines the problems with some words used in "Chinese novel Kam Pin Mui"that are presented in"the Great Chinese-Korean dictionary". The author analyses the problems into three aspects: first, error correction in meaning interpretation; second, supplementary correction in meaning interpretation; and third, additional error correction. The main points of the study are presented in the following. First, in relation to the error correction in meaning interpretation, this study finds out that the explanations of "Liezi", "daxuanmo", "kedui", "shaojian" in the "Great Chinese-Korean dictionary"are incorrect. The cases involve the explanations that have no foundation, do not get to the points, and have narrow meaning interpretations compared with original meanings. Second, as for the supplementary correction, this study points out that the explanations of "yiri", "jiaosa", "buxi", "langhu" are not sufficient. Thus, this study claims that the following meanings for each case should be added, including "long time," "abdominal pains during pregnancy," "a type of folk performing arts without stages in local areas of China, and "to devour in greedy gulps." Third, with respect to the additional error correction, this study analyses "the typos of the examples," "the setup of inaccurate meaning items," "the front-to-back arrangement of the examples," and "inconsistency between meaning interpretations and examples" displayed in the dictionary. The error correction in the dictionary can be possible only if the findings from several other disciplines should be incorporated, involving cultural history, the history of literature, philology, grammatology, linguistics, etc. It seems impossible for a person to solve all the problems with the errors in the dictionary. Thus, it will be greatly helpful to the author and the people who prepare for the new edition of "the Great Chinese-Korean dictionary" if we can get continuous supports and comments from relating scholars of other disciplines. As a result, all these efforts will contribute to the academic progress for the relevant disciplines and these academic activities may develop a new area of the study.

Evaluation of Recursive PIV Algorithm with Correlation Based Correction Method Using Various Flow Images

  • The hierarchical recursive local-correlation PIV algorithm with CBC (correlation based correction) method was employed to increase the spatial resolution of PIV results and to reduce error vectors. The performance of this new PIV algorithm was tested using synthetic images, PIV standard images of Visualization Society of Japan, real flows including ventilation flow inside a vehicle passenger compartment and wake behind a circular cylinder with riblet surface. As a result, most spurious vectors were suppressed by employing the CBC method, the hierarchical recursive correlation algorithm improved the sub-pixel accuracy of PIV results by decreasing the interrogation window size and Increased spatial resolution significantly. However, with recursively decreasing of interrogation window size, the SNR (signal-to-noise ratio) in the correlation plane was decreased and number of spurious vectors was increased. Therefore, compromised determination of optimal interrogation window size is required for given flow images, the performance of recursive algorithm is also discussed from a viewpoint of recovery ratio and error ratio in the paper.

복합곡면 가공시 공구간섭의 탐지와 공구경로 수정에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Tool Interference Detection and Tool Path Correction in Compound Surface Machining)

  • In this paper we deal with tool interference problem in the case of compound surface machining. A new tool interference detection and correction method based on the envelope of the tool path is suggested to identify and correct the tool interference - not only within the local path of tool movement, but also outside of the tool path. Therefore, the developed strategy can be used to check the possible interference in any region of the surface. In order to analyze quantitatively the milled surface error produced by the tool interference, improved surface prediction model is also suggested in cutting process by general cutters. The effectiveness of the proposed method is demonstrated through simulation study.

  • A new position correction method using four fiducials as reference points was developed and examined. It was aimed to calibrate nonlinear deformation by numerous error sources. A correlation for correction was derived from the geometric relationship between four fiducials and chip position. Compared with three points method, it exhibited more accurate correction, especially for inner area of a quadrilateral composed of four fiducial points. Its accuracy was found to be increased as fiducials moves outwardly within a printed circuit board (PCB) and/or as they form more rectangle-like shape As for arbitrarily nonlinear deformation, this method can be applied using more than five fiducials. 향토문화 콘텐츠를 위한 디지털 편찬 관리시스템 개발에 관한 연구: "한국향토문화전자대전"의 사례를 중심으로 (A Study on Development of Digital Compilation Management System for Local Culture Contents: Focusing on the Case of The Encyclopedia of Korean Local Culture)

  • 향토문화란 한 지방의 자연환경 속에서 과거로부터 현재까지 면면히 전승되어 온 역사와 전통, 풍물과 생활, 예술과 유물 및 유적 등의 모든 유산을 의미한다. 한국학중앙연구원에서는 이런 향토문화를 디지털 콘텐츠로 제작하고 이를 이용하여 "한국향토문화전자대전"을 편찬하였다. 향토문화 콘텐츠는 기록물의 특성을 가지고 있어 출처주의, 계층목록과 같은 기록물관리체계를 따르고 있으며 이를 편찬 관리하기 위한 시스템은 기초자료, 단편적 정보 및 고급정보 등이 하나의 시스템 안에서 순환하면서 새로운 지식정보를 만들어내도록 도와주는 순환형 지식정보관리시스템을 지향한다. 순환형 지식정보관리시스템의 이용자는 이 시스템을 통해 직접적으로 자료를 수집할 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 다른 곳으로부터 데이터를 수집할 수 있으며, 나아가 수집한 데이터를 가공하여 새로운 지식 정보를 창출할 수 있다. 그러나 다양한 향토문화 콘텐츠의 구조에 포함된 의미적인 특징을 손상시키지 않고 데이터베이스를 구축하기가 매우 어렵고, 또한 이러한 작업은 장시간에 걸쳐 여러 차례의 교정 작업이 수행되어야 하므로 문서편찬, 교정, 서비스가 동시에 수행되는 시스템을 필요로 한다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 "한국향토문화전자대전"의 사례를 중심으로 고문서가 많이 포함된 향토문화 콘텐츠의 의미적인 특징을 손상시키지 않으면서, 문서의 구조정보를 표현할 수 있는 XML 기반의 디지털 편찬 관리시스템을 제시하고 본 연구에서 개발된 관리시스템에서 향토문화 콘텐츠 관리를 위해 확장된 기능을 소개한다.
