  • In this paper, we present measurement method of the unknown load impedance. Load impedance is continuously varied by external environment conditions. This arbitrarily varied load impedance can be calculated using 3-point voltage measurement on ${\lambda}/4$ sectioned transmission line. We derived several numerical formulas from 3-point voltage measurement results and drew load impedance selection algorithm from calculated load impedance results. These numerical formulas and load impedance selection algorithm are verified by ADS simulation. Simulation results showed that arbitrary load impedance can be correctly measured using above mentioned formulas and selection algorithm.

  • This paper studies the instability between homopolar generator and constant power load with negative impedance characteristics, provides the design method of homopolar generator system which overcomes the instability. In case of magnitude and phase of impedance of source and load mismatch, control instability of source can occur. For the safety of phase of load impedance, the gain of P, I controller with sufficient phase margin is applied through analysis on the simulation model of generator system, and the gain limit of load impedance is ensured by limitation of the gain margin of generator system. The stability of power system can be increased by considering and analyzing the impedance of source and load.

  • This paper presents a loop impedance(inner loop impedance & external impedance) measurement method in TN system. When the measurement of a loop impedance then the measurement result have a some error by load condition. In this paper suggest the loop impedance measurement on actual loading condition by two experiment. one was laboratory condition and the other was the actual measurement on site. Analysis result, measuring error by load condition has not effect on measuring loop impedance.

  • An online estimation method for wireless power transfer (WPT) systems is presented without using any measurement of the secondary side or the load. This parameter estimation method can be applied with a controlling strategy that removes both the receiving terminal controller and the wireless communication. This improves the reliability of the system while reducing its costs and size. In a wireless power transfer system with an LCCL impedance matching circuit under a rectifier load, the actual load value, voltage/current and mutual inductance can be reflected through reflected impedance measuring at the primary side. The proposed method can calculate the phase angle tangent value of the secondary loop circuit impedance via the reflected impedance, which is unrelated to the mutual inductance. Then the load value can be determined based on the relationships between the load value and the secondary loop impedance. After that, the mutual inductance and transfer efficiency can be computed. According to the primary side voltage and current, the load voltage and current can also be detected in real-time. Experiments have verified that high estimation accuracy can be achieved with the proposed method. A single-controller based on the proposed parameter estimation method is established to achieve constant current control over a WPT system.

  • A wireless power transfer (WPT) system is generally designed with the optimum source and load impedance in order to achieve the maximum power transfer efficiency (PTE) at a specific coupling coefficient. Empirically or intuitively, however, it is well known that a high PTE can be attained by adjusting either the source or load impedance. In this paper, we estimate the maximum achievable PTE of WPT systems with the given load impedance, and propose the condition of source impedance for the maximum PTE. This condition can be reciprocally applied to the load impedance of a WPT system with the given source impedance. First, we review the transducer power gain of a two-port network as the PTE of the WPT system. Next, we derive two candidate conditions, the critical coupling and the optimum conditions, from the transducer power gain. Finally, we compare the two conditions carefully, and the results therefore indicate that the optimum condition is more suitable for a highly efficient WPT system with a given load impedance.

  • The linearity of the GaAs FET power amplifier(PA) is greatly influenced by source and load impedance for the FETs. The third order intermodulation products, IM3, from the GaAs FET PA are investigated in relation with source and load impedance. From heuristic as well as analytic point of view, e.g., Volterra series analysis, is employed to analyze the effects of nonlinear circuit elements, gate-source capacitance, $C_{gs}$, and drain-source current, $I_{ds}$. The sweet spots where soure and load impedance produce the least intermodulation products are calculated and compared with the load and source pull data with good agreements. It also shows that source impedance has a greater effect on the intermodulation products than the load impedcnce.

  • For the continuous and exact measurement of load impedance of AC power system on the electric railway, this paper presents a method to show the load area to resistance(R)-reactance(X) plane of impedance plane. The load area is presented in terms of impedance which is in the ratio of voltage and current continuously measured and impedance plane indicates the protection area of fault locator. The proposed method is verified its reasonability by computer simulation, and using this method we will develop the power system impedance analyser which is available actual application.

  • This paper describes a current control of a single-phase PWM inverter. The proposed PWM inverter utilizes the instantaneous control method which is based on the real-time digital feedback control and the microprocessor-based deadbeat control. The deadbeat current controller is proposed to control the output current regardless of load component variations by the same method as voltage control. That is, in current control, with a very short sampling time and the successive feedback of the output current, the load current is mainly effected by the magnitude of load impedance rather than load component, the load current is mainly effected by the magnitude of load impedance rather than load component. Therefore, by treating the load as an impedance, the system's order is reduced and the instantaneous current control using the proposed deadeat controller is simplified.

  • The paper presents a new method for analyzing oscillation regions of transistor oscillators. In transistor feedback oscillators oscillation region appears as a circle in feedback impedance complex plane. When the resistive component of feedback impedance is fixed and the reactive component of feedback impedance is varied or vice versa, the locus of maximum negative output conductance becomes hyperbola. In transistor crystal oscillators oscillation region is determined by two circles which make real part and imaginary part of input impedance zero in load impedance complex plane. When the resistive compoment of load impedance is fixed and the reactive colnponent of load impedance is varied or vice versa, the loci of maximum or minimum resistive component of input impedance become straight lines.

  • In general, LLC converters show great promise in applications that require high efficiency, especially under light load conditions. In particular, LLC converters feature wide gain capability with pulse-frequency modulation and zero voltage switching over entire load conditions. However, output voltage increases in light load conditions. In this study, Bode plot and impedance asymptotes analyses were conducted to obtain insights into the regulation characteristics of LLC converters under light load conditions. To improve the regulation characteristic of LLC converters, a new resonant tank with an additional capacitor is proposed. The design guideline for the proposed LLC converter is determined by the Bode plot and impedance asymptotes analyses. Therefore, the proposed LLC converter achieves the light load regulation while maintaining the advantages of typical LLC converters.
