  • This paper is concerned with speed tracking control problem for permanent-magnet synchronous drives (PMSM) in the presence of an variable load torque and unknown model parameters. The disturbance of speed control caused by inaccuracy of model parameters has been investigated. A load torque observer has been proposed to observe the load torque and estimate the disturbance caused by inaccuracy of model parameters. Both inertia and friction coefficient are identified in gradient descent approach. The stability condition of the observer has also been studied. Furthermore an improved feed-forward control has been introduced to reduce the speed track error. The proposed control strategy has been verified by both simulation and experimental results.

  • Use of stone column for deep ground treatment in soft clay soils is an effective method. The stone column significantly increases load carrying capacity of the soft clay soil. A analysis method for bearing capacity of stone column in soft clay soil is developed. The capacity made by developed method are compared wity observed values from field load test and a reasonable correlation is noted.

  • Axially damped forced vibration responses of viscoelastic nanorods are investigated within the frame of the modal analysis. The nonlocal elasticity theory is used in the constitutive relation of the nanorod with the Kelvin-Voigt viscoelastic model. In the forced vibration problem, a cantilever nanorod subjected to a harmonic load at the free end of the nanorod is considered in the numerical examples. By using the modal technique, the modal expressions of the viscoelastic nanorods are presented and solved exactly in the nonlocal elasticity theory. In the numerical results, the effects of the nonlocal parameter, damping coefficient, geometry and dynamic load parameters on the dynamic responses of the viscoelastic nanobem are presented and discussed. In addition, the difference between the nonlocal theory and classical theory is investigated for the damped forced vibration problem.

  • The concentration and load of T-N and T-P in paddy field areas in Chongwon, Chungbuk , Korea , were investigated during the irrigation period. The concentration of T-N and T-P in ponded water in paddies is higher than that in the irrigation, drainage and percolation waters. For T-N, the average concentration indrainage water was higher than that in irrigation water until end of Jung, But lower thereafter. The average T-N concentration in irrigation water was 2.3 ∼3.2mg/l and therefore the agricultural water quality standard at on-farm level for T-N should be established realistically . The expontial L(load)-Q(discharge) equations have higher coefficients of determination than the linear L-Q equations . Especially, the exponential L-Q equation of T_N showed a coefficient of determinatino of over 0.9 for irrigation water.

  • This paper presents a method for the load capacity assesment of reinforcement concrete deep beams using nonlinear finite element analysis. A computer program, named RCAHEST (Reinforced Concrete Analysis in Higher Evaluation System Technology), for the analysis of reinforced concrete structures was used. From the results, determine the reliability index for the failure base from the Euro Code. Then, calculated additional reduction coefficient to satisfy the goals from the reliability analysis. The proposed numerical method for the load capacity assesment of reinforced concrete deep beams is verified by comparison with the others methods

  • This paper proposes a multiple time-series model with dummy variables for one-hour ahead load forecasting. We used 11 dummy variables that were classified by day characteristics such as day of the week, holiday, and special holiday. Also, model specification and selection of input variables including dummy variables were made by test statistics such as AIC(Akaike Information Criterion) and t-test statistics of each coefficient. OLS (Ordinary Least Squares) method was used for estimation and forecasting. We found out that model specifications for each hour are not identical usually at 30% of optimal significance level, and dummy variables reduce the forecasting error if they are classified properly. The proposed model has much more accurate estimates in forecasting with less MAPE (Mean Absolute Percentage Error).

  • A Typical load pattern has been an important role in operation and cogeneration planning of unit building. In this paper, The self-organising feature maps have been applied to indentify the day type of unit building using measured load data. Also correlation coefficient method was used for this. These results are presented.

  • This paper describes the Weekly Load Forecasting Expert System(Named WLoFy) which was developed and implemented for Korea Electric Power Corporation(KEPCO). WLoFy was designed to provide user oriented features with a graphical user interface to improve the user interaction. The various forecasting models such as exponential smoothing, multiple regression, artificial nerual networks, rult-based model, and relative coefficient model also have been included in WLofy to increase the forecasting accuracy. The simulation based on historical data shows that the weekly forecasting results form WLoFy is an improvement when compared to the results from the conventional methods. Especially the forecasting accuracy on special days has been improved remakably.

  • In this paper, the current characteristics of the system composed of R.L.C. load and series bridge inverter is investigated through the results of computer simulation and experiment to look for the good properties of A.C. motor driven by the above inverter. The time schedule of conventional bridge inverter and the parameters such as resistance and damping coefficient of load is changed for good results. It is possible to get the load current of similar sine wave under various conditions.

  • Spray casting of hypereutectic Al-Si based alloy has been reported to provide distinct advantages over ingot metallurgy (IM) or rapid solidification/powder metallurgy (RS/PM) process in terms of microstructure refinement. Hypereutectic Al-Si based alloys have been regarded attractive for automotive and aerospace application, due to high specific strength, good wear resistance, low coefficient of thermal expansion, high thermal stability, and good creep resistance. In this study, hypereutectic Al-25Si-2.0Cu-1.0Mg alloy was prepared by OSPREY spray casting process. High temperature deformation behavior of the hypereutectic Al-Si based alloy has been investigated by applying the internal variable theory proposed by Chang et al. The change of strain rate sensitivity and Creep transition were analyzed by using the load relaxation test and constant creep test.
