  • In this study, it is offering a numerical method which assesses running safety of the freight car loaded CWR when passing through on the conventional railway by additional lateral load. It is suggested based on the numerical reviews of the safety against derailment after seeking the derailment coefficient estimated by wheel load-lateral force equation in the section that curve radius is small

  • This paper presents a design procedure using the moment magnifier method that is applicable to RC flat plates subjected to combined axial compressive and uniform or non-uniform floor load. Based on the numerical results, the design values of the buckling coefficient and the effective flexural rigidity, that define the buckling force, have been proposed. Using these design values, this paper provides the design procedure for the moment magnifier method.

  • Frictional properties of ultra-thin carbon coatings on silicon wafer were investigated based on Taguchi experimental design method. Sensitivity analysis was performed with normal load, relative humidity, deposition process, and coating thickness as the variables. It was found that despite low thickness, the carbon coating resulted in relatively low friction coefficient. Also, the frictional behavior was affected significantly by humidity and normal load.

  • In this paper, a robust adaptive backstepping controller will be proposed for the speed control of permanent magnet synchronous motors in using electrical vehicles. Stator resistance, damping coefficient, load torque are considered as uncertainties and noise generated at applying load torque to motor is also considered. It shows that the backstepping algorithm can be used to solve the problems of nonlinear system very well and robust controller can be designed without the variation of adaptive law. Simulation results are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the Proposed controller.

  • This paper presents measurement to develop load model for electric locomotive. Load model is defined as polynomial form and each coefficient is solved by the least square method. Therefore, many data is required for using this method. The measurement is performed on KNR line, from Chongryangri to Donghae. The subject of measurement is voltage, current, active power, reactive power an frequency for EL8100.

  • This paper presents analytic solutions of defection and their resonance diagrams for a uniform beam of infinite length subjected to an constant axial force and moving transverse load simultaneously. Steady solutions are obtained by a time-independent coordinate moving with the load. The supporting foundation includes damping effects. The influences of the axial force, the damping coefficient and the load velocity on the beam response are studied. The limiting cases of no damping and critical damping are also investigate. The profiles of the deflection of the beam are shown graphically for several values of the load speed, the axial force and damping parameters. Form the results, following conclusions have been reached. 1. The critical velocity .THETA.cr decreases as the axial compressive force increases, but increases as the axial tensile force increase. 2. At the critical velocity .THETA.cr the deflection have a tendency to decrease as the axial tensile force increases and to increase gradually as the axial compressive force increases. 3. In case if relatively small dampings, the deflection increases suddenly as the velocity of the moving load approaches the critical velocity, and it reachs its maximum at the critical velocity, and it decreases and become greatly affected by the axial force as the velocity increases further. 4. in case of relatively large dampings, as the velocity increases the deflection decreases gradually and it is affected little by the axial load.

  • This paper describes a simple method for evaluating the design wind loads for the structural frames of circular flat roofs with long spans. The dynamic response of several roof models were numerically analyzed in the time domain as well as in the frequency domain by using wind pressure data obtained from a wind tunnel experiment. The instantaneous displacement and bending moment of the roof were computed, and the maximum load effects were evaluated. The results indicate that the wind-induced oscillation of the roof is generally dominated by the first mode and the gust effect factor approach can be applied to the evaluation of the maximum load effects. That is, the design wind load can be represented by the time-averaged wind pressure multiplied by the gust effect factor for the first mode. Based on the experimental results for the first modal force, an empirical formula for the gust effect factor is provided as a function of the geometric and structural parameters of the roof and the turbulence intensity of the approach flow. The equivalent design pressure coefficients, which reproduce the maximum load effects, are also discussed. A simplified model of the pressure coefficient distribution is presented.
