멤브레인형 LNG선박의 리퀴드 돔 체어 구조개발 (On the New Design of Liquid Dome Chair in Membrane Type LNG Carrier)

  • A membrane type LNG cargo tank is equipped with a pump tower and a liquid dome for loading and unloading of LNG. However, the membrane running continuously on the tank wall to prevent leakage of LNG is interrupted by the liquid dome, hence care should be taken in the design of liquid dome and its substructures. In case of GTT NO96 membrane type cargo containment system, chair structure is arranged along the periphery of the liquid dome targeting to support the membrane which is exposed to the both hull girder and thermal load. This paper proposes a new and simple chair structure, which outperforms traditional design from productivity point of view maintaining same level of structural safety. Strength assessment on the new design was performed to guarantee the structural safety of the new design, which includes strength, fatigue and crack propagation analysis.

구형 LNG운반선의 탱크지지 구조인 스커트의 좌굴강도에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Buckling Strength of the Skirt Structure in the Spherical LNG Carriers)

  • This paper deals with the buckling strength of the skirt structure in the spherical LNG carriers. The spherical cargo tank systems consist of spherical tank, skirt, tank cover, pump tower, etc. The skirt supports the spherical cargo tank and is connected with ship hull structure. It is designed to act as a thermal brake between the tank and the hull structure by reducing the thermal conduction from the tank to the supporting structure. It is built up of three parts, upper aluminum part, middle stainless steel part and lower carbon steel part. The 150K spherical LNG carrier was designed and carried out the strength verification under Classification Societies Rule. The design loads due to acceleration, thermal distribution, self-weight and cargo weight were estimated considering requirements of the Class Rule and numerical simulation analyses. Based on the obtained design loads and experienced project data, the initial structure scantling was carried out. To verify the structural integrity, theoretical and numerical analyses were carried out and strength was evaluated aspect of buckling capacity. The results by LR and DNV design code are shown and discussed.

  • 차세대 대용량 멀티미디어 무선통신시스템의 실현 및 주파수의 효율적 이용을 위해 불가결한 멀티 마이크로 셀 환경 하에서의 효율적인 시스템 구성을 위해서는 정보의 종류 및 트래픽의 시간적인 변동에 대해서 유연한 액세스 제어가 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 높은 시스템 용량을 실현하기 위해, 송신 단말의 평균 CNR(반송파 전력대 잡음 전력비)에 대응하여 변조 파라미터를 동적으로 설정하는 저속적응변조방식과 트래픽 상황에 대응하여 TDMA 데이터 슬롯 수를 가변으로 하는 멀티 슬롯 할당 방식을 조합시켰다. 적응 멀티 슬롯 할당 방식을 제안하고, 제안방식의 평균 메시지 지연 특성을 시뮬레이션에 의해 평가한다.

  • 본 논문에서는 전력선 통신과 조광 기술을 기반으로 에너지 절약과 적정 조도의 제어가 가능한 조명제어 스위치의 개발에 대하여 기술하였다. 개발된 스위치는 범용의 마이크로프로세서와 주변 전자기술을 이용하며, 하나의 마이크로프로세서로 전력선 통신과 조광기능을 구현함으로서 저가격 상용화가 가능하였다. 캐리어 주파수는 전송 데이터 길이와 신호감쇄를 고려하여 250kHz로 설정하였다. 저압선로에서 시제작품에 대한 시험결과, 본 스위치는 전력선의 길이와 부하용량의 변동에 대해 강인하게 동작하는 것을 확인하였다.

A Method to Compensate the Distorted Space Vectors in the Unbalanced Neutral Point Voltage of 3-level NPC PWM Inverters

  • This paper proposes a compensation method to improve the distorted space vectors when a 3-level Neutral Point Clamped (NPC) inverter has an unbalanced neutral point voltage. Since both the neutral point voltage of the DC link and the space vector of a 3-level NPC inverter are closely related depending on the output load connecting state, a distorted space vector can occur when the neutral point voltage of a 3-level NPC inverter is unbalanced. The proposed method can improve the distorted space vectors by adjusting the injection time of the small and medium vectors and by modulating the amplitude of the carrier waveforms. In this paper, the proposed method is verified by both simulation and experimental results based on a 3-level NPC inverter.

광합성산물과 제초제의 체관이행 기작 (Characteristics of phloem translocation of photoassimilates and herbicides)

  • The generally accepted idea for carbohydrate translocation in plants is an osmotic pressure flow hypothesis. According to the hypothesis, a high concentration of carbohydrate in the phloem of carbohydrate synthesis regions (source) causes a water influx into the phloem. The generated osmotic potential in the phloem is responsible for long distance carbohydrate transport through the positive hydrostatic pressure. In regions of carbohydrate utilization and storage (sink), translocated carbohydrates are continuously metabolized and compartmentalized, generating a concentration gradient between source and sinks. In this system, carbohydrates load into the phloem (phloem loading) and unload out of the phloem (phloem unloading). Phloem-mobile herbicides that are applied to plants are also translocated from the source to sinks. However, some experimental results reveal that the patterns of phloem translocation between carbohydrates and herbicides are different. The differences are due, in part, to the physico-chemical properties of herbicides and to the absence/presence of specific carrier(s) in the phloem.

A Model for Analyzing the Performance of Wireless Multi-Hop Networks using a Contention-based CSMA/CA Strategy

  • Multi-hop networks are a low-setup-cost solution for enlarging an area of network coverage through multi-hop routing. Carrier sense multiple access with collision avoidance (CSMA/CA) is frequently used in multi-hop networks. Multi-hop networks face multiple problems, such as a rise in contention for the medium, and packet loss under heavy-load, saturated conditions, which consumes more bandwidth due to re-transmissions. The number of re-transmissions carried out in a multi-hop network plays a major role in the achievable quality of service (QoS). This paper presents a statistical, analytical model for the end-to-end delay of contention-based medium access control (MAC) strategies. These strategies schedule a packet before performing the back-off contention for both differentiated heterogeneous data and homogeneous data under saturation conditions. The analytical model is an application of Markov chain theory and queuing theory. The M/M/1 model is used to derive access queue waiting times, and an absorbing Markov chain is used to determine the expected number of re-transmissions in a multi-hop scenario. This is then used to calculate the expected end-to-end delay. The prediction by the proposed model is compared to the simulation results, and shows close correlation for the different test cases with different arrival rates.

  • 본연구에서는 이상화구조요소법(理想化構造要素法)을 적용하여 선체구조(船體構造)의 최종(最終) 종강도(縱强度)를 효율적으로 해석할 수 있는 방법을 개발하였다. 이를 위해 2축방향 축력을 받는 판요소(板要素)에 대한 이상화판요소(理想化板要素)를 초기처짐과 잔류응력의 영향 및 국부구조와 전체구조간의 상관효과를 고려하여 정식화하였다. 본 해석법을 이중선각구조(二重船殼構造)로 된 4만톤급 정유운반선(精油運搬船)에 적용하여 초기처짐, 잔류응력 및 재료의 항복응력의 변화에 따른 선각(船殼)거어더의 최종(最終) 종강도(縱强度)를 해석하고, 이들 결과를 바탕으로 종강도(縱强度)측면에서의 잉여강도계수(剩餘强度係數) 및 신뢰성지표(信賴性指標)를 평가하였다.

  • The objective of this paper is to investigate the dynamic strength characteristics of LNG carriers cargo containment system under impact loads experimentally. The material properties were experimentally obtained for individual components of MARK III insulation system. A series of impact tests was performed using a custom-built drop experiment facility as varying heights and weights of the drop object. Crack initiation and propagation were measured during the cyclic dry drop experiment. The quantitative relationship between impact load and crack initiation as well as the cycle number and crack propagation were reported.

  • The aim of present paper is to investigate the dynamic strength characteristics of LNG cargo containment system under sloshing impact loads numerically. The dynamic stress transmission mechanism under the impact load was analyzed based on the dynamic Finite Element Analysis. Based on the insights obtained from the numerical studies, the characteristics of internal stress distribution and stress concentration have been reported. The material option including anisotropic material features required for the commercial FEA code application were suggested based on the comparison with the experimental results.
