  • This study is a longitudinal analysis of the life satisfaction of Generation X and Generation Y, with different historical backgrounds, growth backgrounds, values, and lifestyles, using data from the Korean Welfare Panel(KOWEPS). The research data is from the KOWEPS 1st year(2006) to 14th year(2019), out of 27,301 people, who conducted life satisfaction from the latest 12th to 14th year, and the responses were properly answered data from 3 years of 2,492 were used. As a result of the study, the higher the life satisfaction of both Generation X and Generation Y, the more the life satisfaction slowly increases at a slower rate as time passes. In addition, in terms of life satisfaction and rate of change, the initial value of life satisfaction was higher as the living satisfaction increased in both Generation X and Generation Y, but in the case of Generation X, the higher living satisfaction, the lower the rate of change in life satisfaction for 3 years by .327, in the case of Generation Y, the rate of change in life satisfaction was not affected. Finally, in the model of this study, a partial mediation of health condition was established between living satisfaction and life satisfaction tendency. Living satisfaction was analyzed to have a direct effect on life satisfaction and at the same time indirectly with a health condition as a parameter.

  • New infectious diseases have broken out repeatedly across the world over the last 20 years; COVID-19 is causing drastic changes and damage to daily lives. Furthermore, as there is no denying that new epidemics will appear in the future, there is a continuous need to develop measures aimed towards responding to economic damage. Against this backdrop, the living population is an important indicator that shows changes in citizens' life patterns. This study analyzes time-based and socio-environmental characteristics by detecting and classifying changes in everyday life caused by COVID-19 from the perspective of the floating population. k-shape Clustering is used to classify living population data of each of the 424 dong's in Seoul measured by the hour; then by applying intervention analysis and One-way ANOVA, each cluster's characteristics and aspects of change in the living population occurring in the aftermath of COVID-19 are scrutinized. In conclusion, this study confirms each cluster's obvious characteristics in changes of population flows before and after the confirmation of coronavirus patients and distinguishes groups that reacted sensitively to the intervention times on the basis of COVID-related incidents from those that did not.

  • Korean oil and honey Yukwa has been paid attention as formal cake for traditional national seasons' holiday and religious service. Quality of Yukwa, however, has been maintained arbitrarily by each Yukwa manufacturer. Since even same Yukwa had severe differences in size, weight, and pattern, it has given the negative effect to the consumer. Yukwa industries need to setup the quantitative quality specifications instead of qualitative ones to maintain the uniformity of Yukwa quality. Efficient and economical inspection and process control system should be developed. In developing quality standards of Yukwa, features which can measure quality quantitatively in real time should be properly chosen. Existing quality features such as acidity, oxidization, hardness, viscosity, and texture were measured by the chemical or physical base destructive methods. Many research and developments have been performed in investigating and analyzing chemical transition states of those quality features as environment or storage condition changes. Most methods, however, require either off-line or complex treatment or time consuming process of analysis in evaluating quality features. Consumer, however, selects products mostly based on the external features such as shape, size, and color. Therefore, critical visual quality features should be chosen and the efficient real time measurement system must be developed. In this paper, computer image acquisition and processing system were developed and software modules were developed to extract the quantitative data of those features in real-time. Computer image processing system will promote in maintaining uniform quality of Yukwa and establishing quality standards of Yukwa.

  • Purpose: This study was a grounded theory research aimed at generating a substantive theory that accounts for the explanatory social processes in which immigrant Korean single-mother families were engaged in the United States. Methods: In-depth interviews were conducted with 15 immigrant Korean single mothers who were living with children under 18 years of age at the time of the interviews. Data collection guided by theoretical sampling and concurrent constant comparative analysis of the transcribed data was conducted to identify the core social process. Results: The emerged core social process was "living for the children," which represented the driving process by which these women made transition to their new lives as single-mother families. The major task throughout the entire transition was re-creating their families. The women's transition involved practical and psychological transitions. The practical transition involved three stages: assuring family survival, struggling between the father role and the mother role, and stabilizing. The psychological transition involved becoming strong and settling in with a new supportive network. Conclusion: Study results added to the literature by elaborating the women's emphasis on maternal identity and the resilience-provoking nature of the women's transitions.

  • For the optimal design of the induction heating cooker, precise and accurate analysis of the magnetic field inside the jar must be achieved first. Until now, design methods based on experience has been used in industry field. But this takes a lot of trial and error, high cost and also long development time. So the analysis of the magnetic field distribution is very important. In this paper the magnetic field inside the induction heating cooker is analyzed by using axisymmetrical FEM(finite element method). And the method of the coil location design for the optimal heat source distribution using sensitivity analysis is developed. In addition, the shielding effect of the non-axisymmetrical 3-D ferrite structure used in induction heating cooker is also analyzed by the integral method.
