본 연구는 생활가전제품이 홈퍼니싱에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구이다. 최근 가전은 기술발전에 의한 스마트 흐름을 지나 디자인 외적으로 가구와 일체화되는 모습을 보여주고 있다. 이에 따라 본 연구는 첫째, 시대·문화적 트렌드를 담고 있는 홈퍼니싱 관점에서 현세대에게 주거공간이 담고 있는 의미를 탐구한다. 둘째, 최근 밀레니얼 세대를 타깃으로 출시된 가전을 알아보고 제품 컨셉과 스타일링 키워드를 중심으로 현 생활가전 트렌드를 분석한다. 셋째, 실증연구로서 공간의 의미, 홈퍼니싱 경험, 가전과 인테리어, 현 가전에 대한 호감 등 4가지 항목을 중심으로 심층 인터뷰를 진행한다. 연구 결과 공간과 관련성을 고려한 디자인이 가전제품을 인테리어의 주체로 만들어줄 수 있음을 알 수 있었다. 향후 연구에서는 이에 대한 정량화된 통계 데이터 검증이 필요할 것으로 보인다. 본 연구를 통해 향후 생활가전제품의 역할과 디자인 방향을 설정하는 데 도움이 될 것으로 기대한다.

일인 다기기 시대에 맞추어 스마트 기기로 다양한 가전제품과 전자기기를 스마트 디바이스를 이용하여 제어 가능하게 출시하고 있다. 또한, 청소로봇과 냉장고, 에어컨, TV 등의 제품 수가 빠르게 증가하고 있으며 이러한 기기들을 이용하여 DLNA(Digital Living Network Alliance) 시스템을 구축하고 있다. 그리고 국내외에서 IoT(Internet Of Things)나 Alljoyn 같은 기술들을 개발 및 제공하고 있다. 하지만 현재 사용하고 있는 가전제품이나 전자기기들은 운영체제가 설치되어있는 제품보다 설치되어있지 않은 제품이 많다. 또한, 스마트 가전제품을 사용하지 않는 사용자는 스마트 가전제품 보다는 기존의 전자제품을 구입하는 경우가 더 많이 발생한다. 본 논문에서는 모바일 기기를 사용하여 사용자가 원하는 데이터를 수치화하고 아두이노 보드에 전송하여 운영체제가 없는 기존의 가전제품도 스마트 기기와 같은 제어를 할 수 있도록 하는 시스템을 제안하고 구현한다.

During last 4 decades of industrial development, apartment has been rapidly disseminated throughout the nation. Its main progress, however, only appeared in quantity, not in quality. To promote housing industry in more way and to enhance peoples' life quality through the better housing environment, housing plan should be based on living items including furniture, appliances and etc. Not enough research has been done to find out living items for better house plan development and furniture design. Among living items, furniture reflects both directly and indirectly people's lifestyle and way of living. This study attempted to find out the pattern of furniture possession which people own in their bedrooms. An in depth questionnaire survey of 600 households was carried during the year 2000. A variety of patterns were found which indicated diverse living conditions within a very similar uniform multifamily apartment complex. The result of this study will be helpful to understand the living conditions in a more systematic way and to generate new concept for both residential unit plan and furniture design.

The purpose of this study is to find out the preference and the needs of old womens on the life support appliances i.e. medication dispenser, video phone, activity monitor and sleep monitor. The appliances may be improved reflecting the result of the questionnaire asking about the preferred functions and designs. The respondents were 141 female seniors of 65 years and older, living in Ulsan city or Cheongju city, Korea. Following is the list of results. (1) The medication dispenser, responded as highly preferred, met some worries over the troubles by power stoppage especially while one is out, letting her forget the medication time. (2) The video phone was worried over the cases of hearing failure by small sound, and watching failure by weakening sight. (3) The activity monitor, like the medication dispenser, was worried about the troubles while one is out or out of the monitoring scope, its expense, and the privacy, (4) The sleep monitor met the worries over the inadequacy for the sleeping mat on the floor and the emission of electromagnetic waves. (5) The preferred designs were (1) white or red standing medication dispenser, (2) wall-mounted video phone working by voice, (3) metal activity monitor sensor with white or yellow bracelet.

The purposes of this study were to identify the needs for ubiquitous home services in residential environment of elderly single or elderly couple households living without children and also to analyze the differences of the needs according to their demographic and housing characteristics. For this study, a literature review and field works on ubiquitous home services for older people were performed. Also, 1 to 1 interview by using the questionnaire which was developed by the researchers in this study was conducted and 270 elderly residents in Seoul and Gyeonggi-Do were responded. Seventy-one ubiquitous service items which were adopted to home electronic appliances and furniture for older people were developed for 1 to 1 interview questionnaire. The major findings of the study were as follows: the elderly residents expressed highest need for ubiquitous home service items related to safety and health issues. Among ubiquitous service items applied to gas stove, vacuum cleaner, TV, telephone, sofa and toilet, the items related to safety and health aspects were most needed. And residents' income level and health status were the two major variables to show group differences in the need of ubiquitous home services. In other words, the elderly residents who were high income and frail tended to have the highest demand for ubiquitous home services adopted to home electronic appliances and furniture.

The purpose of this study is to figure out the urban low-income consumers' present possesion condition of electric appliances, the way of purchasing, shopping scope of groceries and electric appliances, and the shopping scope and information seeking behavior of groceries and electric appliances according to the socioeconomic variables, and the shopping scope of electric appliances according to the way of paying price. For this purpose 129 low-income consumers living in Inchon were interviewed through questionnares. Finally 100 questionnares were analyzed. The first major of this study is that the possesion rates of color television set and refrigerator are comparativelyl high, while those of washing machine, record player and camera are low. In case of electric appliances, consumers usually purchase things on credit and as a shopping place, they usually go to a commercial agent. In case of groceries, they usually buy things for cash, and in case of one price labeled groceries they usually buy things at a supermarket. Second, according to the way of paying price, the shopping scope of some electric appliances is broader in case of purchase for cach than in case of purchase on credit. Third, the shopping scope and information seeking behavior classified by the socioeconomic variables according to the income, age and education. That is as the income and education become higher and the age becomes lower, the shopping scope becomes broader, mass media information source is much more uaed and the frequency of seeking becomes higher. Through this study, I would like to suggest the followings. (1) The problem of low-income consumers is closely connected with the low education level, so it can be solved a bit through consumer education. (2) Especially the consumers' problem is more serious in case of those who are aged and get very low income and education. Therefore special attention is needed to those consumers.

The purpose of this study is to develop living room storage furniture with multiple functions and for analyzing living room system furniture that can correspond with lifestyles in the living room. Literature survey was used by collecting data on interior design books and magazines. System furniture is very functional depending on the purpose and spaces, and can be modified effectively with the development of design based on the resident's demand. Living room furniture was mostly arranged by two types. One was lower and slimmer in order to use the space effectively, the other totally occupied one side of the living room wall. Furniture combined with multiple functions of lights and electronics can increase the satisfaction and convenience of users. And furniture maximizes storage space and is systemized so that mixture and arrangement are diversified. Flexible and active way furniture that accept various electronic fixtures and performances in the living room. Furniture forms, materials, and colors will be designed for the functions and atmosphere of living rooms. This results will contribute to develop furniture that has additional features such as lighting and electronic appliances hereafter.

급속도로 발달한 정보기술은 산업환경 전반에 걸쳐 정보와 기능의 통합화를 이루며 우리 생활에 많은 영향을 미치고 있다. 특히 사물인터넷(IoT), 클라우드 컴퓨팅, 빅 데이터 분석 등 새로운 통신 환경의 출현은 인터넷을 중심으로 한 모든 전자기기들의 연결을 가능하게 함에 따라 이제는 산업 환경을 넘어 주거환경까지 변화시키는 중요한 매체로 주목받고 있다. 이에 따라 본 연구의 목적은 고도로 발전하는 기술과 함께 진화하는 주거환경의 스마트 가전의 유형과 그 특성을 파악하고자 하는 것이다. 그리고 이를 위해 한국, 중국, 일본의 대표적인 브랜드 상품((Samsung, Haier, Panasonic)을 선정하여 각 특성을 비교 분석 하였다. 선정된 브랜드는 GHA(General rules of intelligentization technology for intelligent household appliances)의 스마트 가전 적용 기준을 활용하여 각 유형을 분석하였다. 분류된 유형은 스마트 가전 사용자가 자율적(Self)으로 학습, 활용, 적용, 진단, 추론, 구성, 조절 등이 가능한 7가지의 유목으로 나누어졌으며, 이를 기준으로 나타난 각 국가별 브랜드 상품은 의(Clothing), 식(Food), 주(Housing)의 범주로 체계화 하였다. 브랜드별 나타난 주요 특성으로는 한국의 삼성은 원격제어 기능이, 중국의 하이얼은 전자기술의 적용이, 일본의 파나소닉은 에코나비(ECONAVI)인 에너지 절약 시스템으로 나타났다.

Recently, Smart Home System(SHS) is applied in order to provide comfort, energy efficient and better security to the residence. Thus, by introducing the SHS in the house of elderly people, it is possible to provide a convenient and safe life for old people especially living alone. This paper presents the design and implementation of a low cost but yet flexible and secure smart-phone based SHS. The design is based on inter-working between Arduino board with Bluetooth and Arduino board with Ethernet shield, and the home monitor/appliances are connected to the input/output ports of this board via sensors/relays. In addition, when the old man is put on an emergency, the proposed system will automatically notify it the family. Therefore, we have implemented an inexpensive and efficient SHS for the elderly living alone by inter-working smart phones, internet server and Arduino micro-controller.
