Objectives : This study was performed to review the principal of Bideungpalbub and to investigate the usefulness of it. Methods : The authors reviewed several literatures about Younggupalbub and investigated the clinical usefulness as well found some problems with it. Results and Conclusions : Bideungpalbub is a time related-acupuncture treatment and has a possibility to make some problems for the patients and oriental medical doctors.

Methods : The authors reviewed several literatures related with the Sacred tortoise method (Younggupalbub). We investigated the clinical usefulness as well found some problems in utilizing it. Results and Conclusions : Sacred tortoise method (Younggupalbub) is an acupuncture treatment used according to the time and it may cause many problems for the patients and oriental medical doctors in the clinical use.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the sages’ philosophic view of home economic management in Chosun dynasty. The research method is to review literatures such as Jangbosanrimkongje, Songhosasal, Sasojul, Nehun, Geneusa, Mocminsimsa and Dasanmusun. The major points of this study were as, 1) Sages mastered that the primary principle of home economic management is to control the material desires. 2) Sages believed that home life management is required the lowest materials, and those materials enough are able to obtained through diligence, frugality, thift and savings. Therefore Sages advised us that each of us lives a diligent, frugal, thrifty and saving life.

When performing a tooth extraction, imminent collapse of the tissue by resorption and remodeling of the socket is a natural occurrence. The procedure for the preservation of the alveolar ridge has been widely described in the dental literatures and aims to maintain hard and soft tissues in the extraction site for optimal rehabilitation either with conventional fixed or removable prosthetics or implant-supported prosthesis.

In the electrical machinery, the efficiency of the machine is decreased because of the occurrence of the armature reaction. Various kinds of literatures have suggested the methods to eliminate the armature reaction. However, It is far from satisfactory. In this paper, By using the proper combination of ring coils and the body of non-magnetic materials, the methods to increase output of the machine are suggested.

This study describes neural network based dissolved gas analysis using composition patterns of gas concentrations for transformer fault diagnosis. DGA samples were gathered from related literatures and classified into six types of faults and then a neural network was trained using the DGA samples. Diagnosis tests were performed by the trained neural network with DGA samples of serviced transformers, fault causes of which were identified by actual inspection. Diagnosis results by the neural network were in good agreement with actual faults.

Most laryngeal carcinomas are squamous cell carcinomas. Adenocarcinoma of the larynx is rare, its incidence has been reported less than 1% of all laryngeal neoplasms. Adenocarcinoma arises from glandular structures of the larynx and usually arises from the supraglottis. Compared to other carcinoma, deep biopsy and aggressive treatment is manditory. We report a case of adenocarcinoma of the larynx with review of current literatures.

In the past, a fundamental technique in inventory control system was to rank the items of a inventory from a distribution by value to draw an ABC curve. Unfortunately the use of ABC categorization technique has created problems and introduced some gross errors into the inventory control system. First, the author considers the possible applications of the technique in the real world and then attempts to discuss ABC fallacies through the literatures. Finally, an inventory categorization algorithm by the principal component analysis is derived and a numerical example is also presented to illustrate the algorithm.

Carcinosarcoma of the esophagus have an interesting pathologic feature of admixture of carcinomatous and sarcomatous lesion and accounts for 0.5∼1.5% of all esophageal neoplasm. Generally, it has been reported that these have better prognosis than the squamous cell carcinoma. We have experienced two cases of carcinosarcoma occurring at the mid-esophagus. In both two cases, Ivor Lewis operation was performed and lymph node metastasis was absent. The pathologic diagnosis was confirmed as carcinosarcoma. Postoperative course was uneventful and the patients have been followed up for 3 months and 3 years, respectively, without any problems. We report these cases with a brief review of the literatures.

This report reviews the literatures on chemical constituents of marine sponges of the genus Spongosorites and also highlights our own research. Specific biological activities of the metabolites from these sponges include: cytotoxic, antitumor, antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral, anti-inflammatory, and other pharmacological activities.
