  • This paper reviewed major GDSS literatures from the "groupthink" standpoint, proposed a new framework for GDSS research, and suggested research issues. Despite a sizable amount of GDSS research for a dacade, the results tend to lack consistency, and still more studies are needed in many areas. One way to overcome the limitations is the thorough review of GDSS literatures and "groupthink" theories. Especially, groupthink/decision-making literatures provide many useful insights and guidelines for further exploring new GDSS research areas.

Increasing number of medical literatures makes one final to refer to informations needs without nay secondary materials. Recently, any indexes and abstracts of medical literatures are published, but there are no tertiary lists. Because of that fact, it is difficult to know the status quo of the bibliographic works for the medical literatures in Korea. In this research, status quo of indexing of abstracting of articles in domestic medical journals were investigated and systems or contents of the indexing an abstracting in Korea were analyzed to suggest the standard of bibliographic control.

  • Chosen General Government initiated the activities of collecting and managing the archives from Chosen Dynasty because of necessity to push positively for its colonial policies. Particularly, such efforts of the regime resulted eventually in boosting their understanding on the Korea cultures, as well as contributed to their reigning Korea to an extent. Some aspects that reflect it are as follows. In 1910 Chosen General Government took over, and began to arrange and classify huge volumes of archives that were held by the royal family. During this period, they collected and arranged literatures that they took over from the earlier Korean government. In 1913, Chosen General Government increased enormously the varieties and volumes of the archives that they intended to collect. They started with collecting archives limited to those literatures that had existed in the civil sector before 1894. It can be noticed that just in 1913 Chosen General Government revealed their intention to collect and classify both royal archives and civil archives. With the work of collecting, classification and annotating archives, Chosen General Government commenced the compilation of Chosensa (Korean History). These efforts aimed at cultural assimilation and educating of Korean people, and in this process, the importance of Chosen Dynasty's archives was reconfirmed. One of the representative cases was a change of terminology. With the compilation efforts into full swing since 1915, Chosen General Government repeatedly started to use the term 'Saryo' (historical records) in connection with Chosen's literatures and archives. The term 'Saryo' previously had been used in Japanese literatures, and it is deemed that it was used as a term generally referring to archives of Chosen Dynasty from that time. This signifies that Chosen General Government began to involve their historical point of view in approaching to the archives of Chosen. As they broadened their understanding on Korea through the annotation of old literatures and compilation of Chosen History, they seriously set on the work of assimilating Korean people culturally aiming at gripping its reign on Korea. Archives of Chosen likewise were very crucial basic data for understanding Korea and its people, and Chosen General Government is deemed to have utilized the archives as a means to reign and assimilate Korean people.

  • The purpose of this research is to analyze the differences between literature (Belles-letters) class in DDC 19 and literature class in KDC 3. The results of the study can be summarized as follows : 1. The section of philosophy and theory of literature in DDC was subdivided according to the properties as including subsection of theory of criticism but KDC didn't subdivide this section. 2. In DDC, the subsections of 'rhetoric in specific languages' and 'rhetoric of specific kinds of composition' in rhetoric section was established and can subdivide according to each languages and subjects. These considerations can be useful as compared with KDC. 3. In DDC, collections or criticism of several literatures in specific forms can be more subdivide according to specific aspects or features dealing with in the collections or criticism by a n.0, pplying Table 3-A when specified more than the literary form. 4. Reviewing a notational rank to be assigned in literatures of specific languages, Latin literature and Classical Greek literature to be ranked in division in DDC was established as subsection in KDC to treat them as literatures of minor languages. 5. The DDC can sometimes a n.0, pply, in literatures of all languages, the notations of Table 3 to be subdivided again as specific kinds of literary forms, but KDC subdivided literary forms as specific kinds of each forms in only Korean, Chinese, Japanese literature. 6. In DDC, even literatures of minor languages are provided with 'the period table for the specific literature' under each literature of specific languages in schedules and these period tables can be a n.0, pplied a n.0, ppropriately, but period numbers in KDC was established in only Korean, Chinese, Japanese literature. 7. The optional use of letter prefixes or special numbers such as 828.99 to distinguish literatures of countries other than the "mother country" which makes the use of period tables feasible, but the KDC can only use to distinguish without the function of dividing a period such as DDC. 8. According to a n.0, pplying Table 3 and 3-A also in literatures of specific languages(810-890), a literature of specific languages, a specific literary form in literature of specific languages and a literature or literary form of specific period, in case of a n.0, pplying 'form divisions 08-09', can subdivide again by a specific aspect or feature dealing with in the works when specified. 9. For grasping the rate of subdividing, after selecting several sample-titles in literary field, they classified by DDC and KDC and gave a definite score in accordance with analytic small subjects. According to the results, the rate of subdividing in literature class of KDC is proved as less 22.8% than DDC. than DDC.

  • Objectives The purpose of this study is to understand formation courses of the ten types of LBP (十種腰痛) in Korean medicine through reviewing classic literatures. Methods We summarized sentences describing syndrome differentiation of LBP directly in Uibujeonrok (醫部全錄) and Donguibogam (東醫寶鑑), and then organized similarities and differences among diagnostic factors described in the classic literatures. Results In most of the classics LBP was classified according to the cause but the causes varied depending on the classic literatures. Cheonkeumbang (千金方) tried to suggest a reasonable classification of LBP in a relatively early age. In Dangyesimbeop (丹溪心法) the causes of LBP were divided into 6 factors; qi movement stagnation (氣鬱), dampness-heat (濕熱), kidney deficiency (腎虛), static blood (瘀血), sprain (挫閃) and phlegm accumulation (積痰). It had a lot of influence on the classic literatures published later. Donguibogam was also influenced by the Dangyesimbeop and the ten types of LBP in Donguibogam was similar to the information on the classification shown in Uihakipmun (醫學入門) and Uijongpildok (醫宗必讀). Conclusions We verified universality of the ten types of LBP; kidney deficiency, phlegm-retained fluid (痰飮), food accumulation (食積), sprain, static blood, wind (風), cold (寒), dampness (濕), dampness-heat and qi (氣).

  • Objectives : The present study was conducted to unveil the existence of a medical technique called Chicken-foot-shaped needling method("Gaejokchimbup") from the mid-Chosen Dynasty era and for historical investigation of this technique. Methods : Among historical literatures from China, Korea, and Japan on acupuncture and moxibustion, mentions of "Gaejok"(chicken foot) were searched for and studied. Results : Among the Chinese literatures, some medical scholars made references to "chicken foot" after mentioned in Lingshu Jing. In the Korean literatures, Donguibogam gave it the name Gaejokchimbup and mentioned it. In Japan's Chimgugeukbeecho which contains the acupuncture and moxibustion knowledge of Korean doctors, the procedural method was explained in detail. Conclusions : According to these ancient medical literatures, Gaejok was used largely in two meanings. First meaning was performing acupuncture with 3~4 needles in a chicken foot-like shape on a narrow area, whereas the second meaning was using one acupuncture needle and repeatedly inserting the needle while changing directions according to a path in the shape of a chicken's foot. Based on Rumenshiqin and Chimgugeukbeecho, which contain records of actual clinical experiences, Gaejokchimbup appears to have been used as the second method mention above.
