  • Sloshing loads, produced by the violent liquid free-surface motions inside the cargo tank have become an important design parameter in ship building industry since there have been demands for the increased sizes of the cargo containment system of LNG carriers. In this study, sloshing impact pressure acting on the shell of the spherical cargo tank of an LNG carrier as well as dynamic pressure and flow behavior around the pump tower located at the center of the tank have been calculated. Comparative numerical sloshing simulations for a spherical LNG tank using 2-D LR.FLUIDS which is based on the finite difference method and 3-D MSC.DYTRAN which is capable of calculating nonlinear fluid-structure interaction have been carried out. A method of calculating sloshing-induced dynamic loads and the subsequent structural strength analysis for pump tower of a spherical LNG carrier using MSC. DYTRAN and MSC.NASTRAN have been presented.

  • The diffuse interface model of Saurel et al. (2008) is used for the computation of compressible cavitating flows around underwater missiles. Such systems use gas injection and natural cavitation to reduce drag effects. Consequently material interfaces appear separating liquid and gas. These interfaces may have a really complex dynamics such that only a few formulations are able to predict their evolution. Contrarily to front tracking or interface reconstruction method the interfaces are computed as diffused numerical zones, that are captured in a routinely manner, as is done usually with gas dynamics solvers for shocks and contact discontinuity. With the present approach, a single set of partial differential equations is solved everywhere, with a single numerical scheme. This leads to very efficient solvers. The algorithm derived in Saurel et al. (2009) is used to compute cavitation pockets around solid bodies. It is first validated against experiments done in cavitation tunnel at CNU. Then it is used to compute flows around high speed underwater systems (Shkval-like missile). Performance data are then computed showing method ability to predict forces acting on the system.

  • In the present study investigated the heat dissipation characteristics of the natural convection type radiator by using the latent heat from a solid-liquid PCM(Phase Change Material). Total radiator volume size is $423{\times}295{\times}83\;mm$ and PCM tank size is $398{\times}270{\times}26\;mm$. The objective was elapsed time lower than maximum operating temperature. Experimental condition, in order to study the effects of the phase-change phenomenon, carried out the various mass flow rate, input electric power, and heat of fusion temperature of two type PCMs. For the above experimental conditions, the cooling performance by using the latent heat showed that heat absorption rate performs for about 3 hours from using PCM $38^{\circ}C$. However, cooling performance by using PCM $50^{\circ}C$ showed higher than surface temperature of heater block because of heat of fusion.

  • A rapid, accurate and precise method for the determination of 22 amino acids in Isatidis Radix by Hydrophilic Interaction Ultra-High-Performance Liquid Chromatography Coupled with Triple-Quadrupole Mass Spectrometry (HILIC-UPLC-MS/MS) was established. Chromatographic separation was carried out on a Acquity UPLC BEH Amide column ($2.1mm{\times}100mm$, $1.7{\mu}m$) with gradient elution of acetonitrile (containing 0.05% formic acid and 2 mM ammonium formate) and water (containing 0.15% formic acid and 10 mM ammonium formate) at a flow rate of 0.4 mL/min; Waters Xevo$^{TM}$ TQ worked in multiple reaction monitoring mode. All components were separated in 17 min. All calibration curves were linear ($R^2$ > 0.991) over the tested ranges. The limits of detection (LOD) and limits of quantitation (LOQ) for these compounds were 0.21-79.55 and 0.72-294.23 ng/mL, respectively. The average recoveries were in the range of 93.75-104.16% with RSD value less than 6.56%. Therefore, this method could be an alternative assay for the determination of 22 amino acids in Isatidis Radix due to its rapidness, sensitivity, less sample and solvent consumption.

  • This report describes the determination of ceftiofur residues in milk from treatment of lactating dairy cattle by intramuscular injection of three consecutive daily doses of about 1 mg /kg BW, the recommended label dosing. The separation of ceftiofur was achieved on $C_1_8$ reverse phase column. The mobile phase consisted of 0.1% trifluoracetic acid in water (A) and 0.05% acetic acid in acetonitrile (B) and grediently flowed at the flow rate of 0.4 mL/min. As a result of analysis of blank raw bovine milk samples, matrix interference was not shown. Limit of detection and limit of quantitaion was 0.5 ng/mL and 1 ng/mL, respectively. The values of precision and recovery satisfied the guideline of National Veterinary Research and Quarantine Service (NVRQS, Korea). The mean residual concentration of ceftiofur in milk did not exceed 3.71 ng/mL when ceftiofur was administered intramuscularly to lactating dairy cattle for 3 consecutive days at 1 mg/kg of BW per day. It is much lower than the proposed MRL (100 ng/mL) of ceftiofur in milk.

  • Transparent organic materials have been frequently used as an analog of the solidifying metallic materials, because their transparency permits an in-situ observation of the microstructural development during solidification through optical microscopy. Pivalic acid (PVA)-ethanol system showing an anisotropic property in solid-liquid interfacial energy and interface kinetics was adopted in the present experiment, and the detailed experiments performed are as follows: (1) variation of dendrite tip temperature with growth velocity, (2) correlation between primary dendrite arm spacing (${\lambda}_1$) and the growth orientation away from the heat flow direction (tilt angle: ${\theta}$), (3) variation of dendrite tip radius (R) with growth velocity (V), (4) dendrite tip stability parameter (${\sigma}^*$) and its dependence on the concentration. Concerning the correlation between the dendrite tip temperature and growth velocity the present result is well suited to Hunt-Lu equation. As the tilt angle increases, the average primary dendrite spacing tends to increase.

  • The water jet impingement cooling with boiling is one of the techniques to remove heat from high heat flux equipments. The configuration of surface roughness is one obvious condition of affecting the performance on heat transfer in nucleate boiling, The present study investigates the water jet impinging single-phase convection and nucleate boiling heat transfer for the effect of surface roughness to enhance the heat transfer in free surface and submerged jet. The distributions of the averaged wall temperature as well as the boiling curves are discussed. Jet velocities are varied from 0.65 to 1.7 m/s. Surface roughness by sand blast and sand paper varies from 0.3 to 2.51 ${\mu}m$ and cavity shapes on surface are semi-circle and v-shape, respectively The results showed that higher velocity of the jet caused the boiling incipience to be delayed more. The incipient boiling and heat transfer increase with increasing surface roughness due to a large number of cavities of uniform size.

  • Recent common-rail injector of a diesel engine needs more smaller nozzle hole to meet the stringent emission regulation. But, small nozzle hole diameter can cause nozzle coking which is occurred due to the deposits of post-combustion products. Nozzle coking has a negative effect on the performance of fuel injector because it obstructs the fuel flow inside a nozzle hole. In this study DFSS (Design for six sigma) method was applied to find the effect of nozzle design parameter on nozzle coking. Total 9 injector samples were chosen and tested at diesel engine. The results show that nozzle hole diameter and K-factor have more effect on nozzle coking than A-mass and hole length. Large hole diameter and A-mass, small hole length and K-factor give more positive performance on nozzle coking in these experimental conditions. But, a performance about nozzle coking and exhaust gas emission shows the opposite tendency. Further study is needed to find the relation between nozzle coking and emission characteristic for the optimization of injector nozzle design.

  • This thesis introduced that character of a treatment technique for a mading synthetic resin Hifiow-Ring. The material system of packings make an experiment air$NH_{3}$/air$H_{2}SO_{4}$, $SO_{2}$-air/NaOH, $NH_{3}$-air/$/H_{2}SO_{4}$ under general conditions. Lattices packing compared with conventional packings was proved low pressure loss and high separation efficiency for high loading per trans unit. And an inflow materal tested for absorption and rectification, it made an experiment under a range regular temperature, low energy and small amount of money. That made possible in simple equation, volume material tranfer coefficient$\beta_{L}$ . a by absorption or $\beta_{V}$ .a calculated in all range loading. The peculiarity pressure loss $\Delta\;P/NUT_{ov}$ for Hiflow-ring contributed to a fall cost of energy, a grade number of a vacuum rectification and absorption calculation.
