  • Most research for until at now link travel time were research for mean link travel time calculate or estimate which uses the average of the individual vehicle. however, the link travel time distribution is divided caused by with the impact factor which is various traffic condition, signal operation condition and the road conditional etc. preceding study result for link travel time distribution characteristic showed that the patterns of going through traffic were divided up to 2 in the link travel times. therefore, it will be more accurate to divide up the link travel time into the one involving delay and the other without delay, rather than using the average link travel time in terms of assessing the traffic situation. this study is it analyzed transit hour distribution characteristic and a cause using examine to the variables which give an effect at link travel time distribute using simulation program and determinate link travel time distribute ratio estimation model. to assess the distribution of the link travel times, this research develops the regression model and the fuzzy model. the variables that have high level of correlations in both estimation models are the rest time of green ball and the delay vehicles. these variables were used to construct the methods in the estimation models. The comparison of the two estimation models-fuzzy and regression model- showed that fuzzy model out-competed the regression model in terms of reliability and applicability.

  • The shortest path algorithm for route guidance is implicitly required not only to support geometrical variations of transportation network such as U-TURN or P-TURN but to efficiency search reasonable routes in searching mechanism. The purpose of this paper is to integrate such two requirements ; that is, to allow U-TURN and P-TURN possibilities and to cut down searching time in locating routes between two points (origin and destination) in networks. We also propose a new type of link searching algorithm which can solve the limitation of vine building algorithm at consecutively left-turn prohibited intersections. The test site is a block of Gangnam road network that has some left-turn prohibited and allowed U-TURN intersections. Four models have been identified to be comparatively analyzed in terms of searching efficiency. The Models are as follows : (i) Model 1 - Link Searching Dijkstra Algorithm without Searching Area Extraction (SAE) ; (ii) Model 2 - Link Searching Dijkstra Algorithm with SAE ; (iii) Model 3 - Link Searching Bidirectional Dijkstra Algorithm without SAE ; and (iv) Model 4 - Link Searching Bidirectional Dijkstra Algorithm with SAE. The results of comparative evaluation show that Model 4 can effectively find optimum path faster than any other models as expected. Some discussions and future research agenda have been presented in the light of dynamic route guidance application of the urban ATIS.

  • This paper presents a technique to model and control a manipulator which has a flexible link and moves in a vertical plane. The flexible link is modeled as an Euler-Bernoulli Beam. Elastic deformation of the flexible link is represented using the assumed modes method. A comparison function which satisfies all geometric and natural boundary conditions of a cantilever beam with an end mass is used as an assumed mode shape. Lagrange's equation is utilized for the development of a discretized model. This paper presents a simple technique to improve the correctness of the developed model. The final model including the shortening effect due to elastic deformation correlates very well with experimental results. The free body motion simulation shows that two assumed modes for the representation of the elastic deformation is proper in terms of the model size and correctness. A control algorithm is developed using PID control technique. The proportional, integral and derivative control gains are determined based on dominant pole placement method with a rigid one-link manipulator. A position control simulation shows that the control algorithm can be used to control the position and residual oscillation of the flexible one-link manipulator effectively.

  • Many important terminologies in biomedical text are expressed as abbreviations or acronyms. We newly suggest a semantic link topic model based on the concepts of topic and dependency link to disambiguate biomedical abbreviations and cluster long form variants of abbreviations which refer to the same senses. This model is a generative model inspired by the latent Dirichlet allocation (LDA) topic model, in which each document is viewed as a mixture of topics, with each topic characterized by a distribution over words. Thus, words of a document are generated from a hidden topic structure of a document and the topic structure is inferred from observable word sequences of document collections. In this study, we allow two distinct word generation to incorporate semantic dependencies between words, particularly between expansions (long forms) of abbreviations and their sentential co-occurring words. Besides topic information, the semantic dependency between words is defined as a link and a new random parameter for the link presence is assigned to each word. As a result, the most probable expansions with respect to abbreviations of a given abstract are decided by word-topic distribution, document-topic distribution, and word-link distribution estimated from document collection though the semantic dependency link topic model. The abstracts retrieved from the MEDLINE Entrez interface by the query relating 22 abbreviations and their 186 expansions were used as a data set. The link topic model correctly predicted expansions of abbreviations with the accuracy of 98.30%.

  • One of the most widely studied protocols for tactical ad-hoc networks is Optimized Link State Routing Protocol (OLSR). As for OLSR research, most research work focus on reducing control traffic overhead and choosing relay point. In addition, because OLSR is mostly dependent on link detection and propagation, dynamic Hello timer become research challenges. However, different timer interval causes imbalance of link validity time by affecting link lifetime. To solve this problem, we propose a weighted topology graph model for constructing a robust network topology based on the link validity time. In order to calculate the link validity time, we use control message timer, which is set for each node. The simulation results show that the proposed mechanism is able to achieve high end-to-end reliability and low end-to-end delay in small networks.

  • In this paper, we have studied how to reuse common data link software by applying software product line engineering. Existing common data link software performed different stages of design, implementation, and testing without sharing the accumulated knowledge of different developers. In this situation, developers agreed that sharing the assets of each project and reusing the previously developed software would save human and time costs. Even with the initial difficulties, the common Data Link is a continually proposed project in the defense industry, so we decided to build a product line. The common data link software can be divided into two domains. Among them, the initial feature model for the GUI software was constructed, and the following procedure was studied. Through this, we propose a plan to build a product line for core assets and reuse them in newly developed projects.

  • This paper proposes an efficient approach based on a machine learning technique to predict the local stresses on mooring chain links. Three-link and multi-link finite element analyses were conducted for a target chain link of D107 with steel grade R4; 24,000 and 8000 analyses were performed, respectively. Two serial Artificial Neural Network (ANN) models based on a deep multi-layer perceptron technique were developed. The first ANN model corresponds to multi-link analyses, where the input neurons were the tension force and angle and the output neurons were the interlink angles. The second ANN model corresponds to the three-link analyses with the input neurons of the tension force, interlink angle, and the local stress positions, and the output neurons of the local stress. The predicted local stresses for the untrained cases were reliable compared to the numerical simulation results.

  • Weighted network link prediction is a challenge issue in complex network analysis. Unsupervised methods based on local structure are widely used to handle the predictive task. However, the results are still far from satisfied as major literatures neglect two important points: common neighbors produce different influence on potential links; weighted values associated with links in local structure are also different. In this paper, we adapt an effective link prediction model-local naive Bayes model into a weighted scenario to address this issue. Correspondingly, we propose a weighted local naive Bayes (WLNB) probabilistic link prediction framework. The main contribution here is that a weighted cluster coefficient has been incorporated, allowing our model to inference the weighted contribution in the predicting stage. In addition, WLNB can extensively be applied to several classic similarity metrics. We evaluate WLNB on different kinds of real-world weighted datasets. Experimental results show that our proposed approach performs better (by AUC and Prec) than several alternative methods for link prediction in weighted complex networks.

  • When forecasting demand for a new road, a select link analysis is usually used to understand the OD pairs that send trips along paths that use the selected link (i.e., the new road). These OD pairs and their associated volumes are listed in a select link analysis. However, there is no research about other methods to obtain these results, so experts are almost always dependent on select link analysis results to obtain these results. The purpose of this study is to propose a model with a different approach from select link analysis to obtain the previously mentioned results. Time and spatial characteristics of networks are used in this new approach. Select link analysis results are used as a comparison index for the results by the proposed model. Also, two case studies (interzonal trips and intracity trips) are performed to validate the significance of the model. Consequently, a correlation coefficient between the results by the proposed model and the comparison index shows high significance: 0.82.

  • When the contribution of lightweight components to the total energy of a system is small, tole inertia effects are sometimes ignored by replacing them to massless links. For example, a revolute-spherical massless link generates two kinematic constraint equations between adjacent bodies and allows four relative degrees of freedom. In this paper, to implement a massless link systematically in a computer program using the velocity transformation technique, the velocity transformation matrix of massless links is derived and numerically implemented. The velocity transformation matrix for a revolute-spherical massless link and a revolute-universal massless link are appeared as a 6$\times$4 matrix and a 6$\times$3 matrix, respectively. A massless link model in a suspension composite joint transmitting external forces is also developed and the numerical efficiency of the proposed model is compared to a conventional multibody model. For a massless link transmitting external forces, forces acting on links are resolved and transmitted to the attached points with a quasi-static assumption. Numerical examples are presented to verify the formulation.
