  • The recent trains are almost being operated by the mechanical propulsion force to drive the gear and wheel with the traction motor. However Magnetic Levitation Vehicle is differently operated. Magnetic Levitation Vehicle is applied with Linear Induction Motor(LIM) that has many advantage like to high capability of going up to slope, low noise, easy to control of speed. So domestic and many advanced countries are interested in Magnetic Levitation Vehicle and they have been studying about it continuously. Thus this paper is studied the LIM test method of static states and guess the optimum driving point by characteristic of static states for LIM. The test items are measurement of thrust force by changed air gap, measurement of thrust force and normal force by changed slip frequency etc.

  • Conventional variable-speed Induction motor drives with inverters are subject to detrimental effect of zero-sequence voltages, such a shaft voltage and bearing current. This paper presents a way of the suppression of the zero-sequence components in multilevel H-bridge inverters. First examined Is the inherent zero-sequence characteristic of the conventional subharmonic PW method. Then it is shown that the zero-sequence voltage can be eliminated with proper -selection of switching states with space vector modulation. Although this method alone restricts the linear modulation range of control, a combination of the proposed method and the minimum switching method appears to be effective in suppressing the zero-sequence voltage to minimum level while maintaining the linear control range.

  • As a method obtaining linear thrust force for the magnet wheel producing a strong traction torque, the concept of magnetic shield is suggested and compared with the existing approaches. Specially, as the magnet wheel, in which the permanent magnets rotate mechanically instead of ac driving to make traveling field, is physically similar with the rotary induction motor, there is a periodical force ripple in tangential direction as well as normal direction. But, the force ripple can be suppressed from a shape change of the shield plate. Namely, the change brings out a change of entry and exit effect of the circumferential field for the magnet wheel. The feasibility of the shield concept is verified from simulation and experiment.

  • This paper is analyzed the effect on characteristics of thrust force of linear induction motor(LIM) by rotational type tester. Many kinds of tester have a rotational shape because of a finite length of railroad. Whereas effects by using rotational type tester are generally unknown. For reason of that, this paper will be analyzed the effect on characteristics by rotational type tester using 2D finite element method(FEM), and then will be compared a thrust force between linear type tester and rotational type tester.

  • We proposed the speed control of the SLIM(Single-sided Linear Induction Motor) for conveyance system by the decoupled thrust control. The voltage equations of SLIM are expressed on the suitable $\alpha-\beta$ axis by the proposed equivalent circuit, which can analyze the characteristics of the thrust and the normal force and so on. These control methods, which are the slip angular frequency control and the decoupling control for the thrust and normal force by analyzing these parameters can be successfully driven without interfering of each axis. These results exemplified the linear drive of SLIM with the reference value.

  • The ShortStack Micro Server enables any product that contains a microcontroller or microprocessor to quickly and inexpensively become a networked, Internet-accessible device. The ShortStack Micro Server provides a simple way to add LonWorks networking to new or existing smart devices. . It implements the LonTalk protocol and provides the physical interface with the LonWorks communication. The ShortStack host processor can be an 8, 16, or 32-bit microprocessor or microcontrollers. The ShortStack API and driver typically require about 4kbytes of program memory on the host processor and less than 200 bytes of RAM. The interface between host processor and the ShortStack Micro Server may be a Serial Communication Interface (SCI). The LonWorks control module with a high performance is developed, which is composed of the 8 bit PIC Microprocessor for host processor and the smart neuron chip for the ShortStack Micro Server. This intelligent control board is verified as proceeding the various function tests from experimental system with an boost pump and inverter driving systems. It is also confirmed that the developed control module provides stably 0-10VDC linear signal to the input signal of inverter driving system for varying the induction motor speed. Thus, the experimental results show that the fabricating intelligent board carried out very well the various functions in the wide operating ranges of boost pump system. This developed control module expect to apply to industrial fields to require the comparatively exact control and monitoring such as multi-motor driving system with inverter, variable air volume system and the boost pump water supply systems.

  • This paper presents the over-modulation strategy and indirect vector control drive of NPC type PWM inverter. NPC inverter has three level phase voltage output.It can perform in high voltage through assembling switching components. It has less harmonics and surge voltage stress at motor terminals than the 2 level inverter in same switching frequency through 3 level voltage. The conventional railway vehicle has used the vector control to MI=0.907 and the slip-frequency control from MI=0.907 to six-step mode. The slip-frequency control has bad motive power and slow torque control response. But vector control has good motive power and can instant torque control. In this paper, output voltage is controlled linearly from linear region to six-step mode by using over-modulation strategy. And NPC inverter is used.

  • In the paper, we propose a design method for the logistics transportation system using magnetic levitation that has a good characteristics without mechanical friction, noise and dust. The proposed transportation system consists of a levitation control system and a propulsion control system. Magnetic levitation system is an electromagnetic suspension system in which electromagnet generates magnetic attractive force and the attractive force pulls the rail. We design a PID controller for the current control of electromagnets. We use linear induction motors for propulsion of the proposed logistics transportation system and adapt the space vector PWM method for the propulsion control system. The proposed transportation system using magnetic levitation is verified performances through levitation and propulsion experiments.

  • This study aims at analyzing the flow characteristics of the electromagnetic pump using a linear induction motor (LIM) for transferring molten metals. The flow characteristics of the pump are simulated by magnetohydrodynamic(MHD) program. In this system, the LIM is used for transferring molten metal by electromagnetic force. The molten metal is treated as the secondary part of the LIM. Since the LIM produces an electromagnetic force in the duct, the molten metal can flow from the furnace to the reservoir. The flow characteristics of the pump are analyzed using MHD program for magnetic field of 0.1[T] in duct. In order to prove the analysis, we made a prototype electromagnetic pump using LIM.

  • 본 논문에서는 중 고속 자기부상열차용 선형 유도전동기에서 나타나는 단부효과를 고려하여 중 고속 운전을 할 수 있는 제어 알고리즘을 제안한다. 선형 유도전동기에서 나타나는 단부효과를 수식적으로 분석하여 선형 유도전동기 시뮬레이션 모델을 구성하였으며, 단부효과의 영향을 보상하여 제어를 함으로서 선형 유도전동기 적합한 제어 알고리즘을 구성하여 시뮬레이션을 통하여 검증하였다.
