  • In this paper, we proposed visual information to provide a highly maneuverable system for a tele-operator. The visual information image is bird's eye view from UFR(Unmanned Flying Robot) shows around UGR(Unmanned Ground Robot). We need UGV detection and tracking method for UFR following UGR always. The proposed system uses TLD(Tracking Learning Detection) method to rapidly and robustly estimate the motion of the new detected UGR between consecutive frames. The TLD system trains an on-line UGR detector for the tracked UGR. The proposed system uses the extended Kalman filter in order to enhance the performance of the tracker. As a result, we provided the tele-operator with the visual information for convenient control.

  • The LPR system's trigger sensor makes problem occasionally due to the heave weight of vehicle or the obsolescence equipment. If we replace the hardware sensor to the deep-learning based software sensor in order to generate the trigger signal, LPR system maintenance would be a lot easier. In this paper we proposed the deep-learning sliding window based object detection and tracking algorithm for the LPR system's trigger signal generation. The gate passing vehicle's license plate recognition results are combined into the normal tracking algorithm to catch the position of the vehicle on the trigger line. The experimental results show that the deep learning sliding window based trigger signal generating performance was 100% for the gate passing vehicles including the 5.5% trigger signal position errors due to the minimum bounding box location errors in the vehicle detection process.

  • This paper proposed a fuzzy logic cross coupled controller which can enhance the path tracking performance of optically guided AGV(Automated Guided Vehicle). The AGV follows the guide path, it cannot be avoid the deviation from the path due to the inevitable error and the deviation must be corrected. Optically guided AGV used in industrial area is controlled by On-Off controller generally, the experimental AGV has three optical sensors in front body. In this structure, we could not know the leaving distance accurately and steering angle from the guided line, so AGV could not be controlled properly with conventional controller in the case of increasing or decreasing velocity. If we mount additional sensors the AGV, we could know the leaving distance and steering angle from the guided line and proper error compensating methode can be applied. But because cost of sensors are high, the cost of total system is increasing. So, in this paper, to improve the tracking performance of AGV which has the minimum number of sensors and fuzzy logic cross coupled controller is proposed. Some simulations and experimental results are presented to illustrate the performance of the proposed controller.

  • Novel optical techniques are presented for three-dimensional tracking of nanoparticles; Optical Serial Sectioning Microscopy (OSSM) and Ratiometric Total Internal Reflection Fluorescent Microscopy (R-TIRFM). OSSM measures optically diffracted particle images, the so-called Point Spread Function (PSF), and dotermines the defocusing or line-of-sight location of the imaged particle measured from the focal plane. The line-of-sight Brownian motion detection using the OSSM technique is proposed in lieu of the more cumbersome two-dimensional Brownian motion tracking on the imaging plane as a potentially more effective tool to nonintrusively map the temperature fields for nanoparticle suspension fluids. On the other hand, R-TIRFM is presented to experimentally examine the classic theory on the near-wall hindered Brownian diffusive motion. An evanescent wave field from the total internal reflection of a 488-nm bandwidth of an argon-ion laser is used to provide a thin illumination field of an order of a few hundred nanometers from the wall. The experimental results show good agreement with the lateral hindrance theory, but show discrepancies from the normal hindrance theory. It is conjectured that the discrepancies can be attributed to the additional hindering effects, including electrostatic and electro-osmotic interactions between the negatively charged tracer particles and the glass surface.

  • This paper deals with the problem of generating the energy optimal trajectory which is intended to enhance the target tracking performance of a passive homing missile. Noticing that the essence of passive target tracking is the range estimation problem, the target information gathered by passive measurements can be readily analyzed by introducing the range estimator designed in line-of-sight(LOS) frame. Moreover, for the linear filter structure of the suggested range estimator, the cost function associated with the target information is clearly expressed as a function of the line-of-sight rate. Based on this idea, the optimal missile trajectory maximizing the target information is obtained by solving the saddle point problem for an indefinite quadratic cost which consists of the target information and the energy. It is shown that, different from the previous heuristic approaches, the guidance command producing the optimal passive homing trajectory is produced by the modified proportional navigation guidance law whose navigation constant is determined by the weighting coefficient for target information cost.

  • Theoretically, the magnetic helicity transport flux through the solar surface into the upper atmosphere can be estimated indefinitely precisely by magnetic field footpoint tracking if the observational resolution is infinitely fine, even with magnetic flux emergence or submergence. In reality, the temporal and spatial resolutions of observations are limited. When magnetic flux emerging or submerging, the footpoint velocity goes to infinity and the normal magnetic field vanishes at the polarity inversion line. A finite observational resolution thus generates a blackout area in helicity flux estimation near the polarity inversion line. It is questioned how much magnetic helicity is underestimated with a footpoint tracking method due to the absence of information in the blackout area. We adopt the analytical models of Gold-Hoyle and Lundquist force-free flux ropes and let them emerging from below the solar surface. The observation and the helicity integration can start at different emerging stages of the flux rope, i.e., the photospheric plane initially cuts the flux rope at different levels. We calculate the magnetic helicity of the flux rope below the photospheric level, which is eventually to emerge, except the helicity hidden in the region to be swept by the blackout area with different widths. Our calculation suggests that the error in the integrated helicity flux estimate is about half of the real value or even larger when small scale magnetic structures emerge into the solar atmosphere.

  • The handling ability of containers at the terminal strongly depends on the performance of the cargo handling system such as RTGC(Rubber Tired Gantry Crane). This paper introduces a new guide line position measurement method using a camera for the RTGC which plays a important role in the harbor area. Because the line tracking is the basic technique for control system design of RTGC, it is necessary to develop a useful and reliable measurement system. If the displacement and angle of the RTGC relative to a guide line as trajectory to follow is obtained, the position of RTGC is calculated. Therefore, in this paper, a camera-based measurement system is introduced. The proposed measurement system is robust against light fluctuation and cracks of the guideline. This system consists of a camera and a PC which are installed at the lower side of the RTGC. Two edges of the guide line are detected from an input image taken by the camera, and these positions are determined in a Hough parameter space by using the Hough transformation method. From the experimental results, high accurate standard deviations were found as 0.98 pixel of the displacement and 0.24 degree of the angle, including robustness against lighting fluctuation and cracks of the guide line also.

  • Resolvers are transducers that are used to sense the angular position of rotational machines. The analog resolver is necessary to use resolver to digital converter. Among the RDC software method, angle tracking observer (ATO) is the most popular method. In an actual resolver-based position sensing system, amplitude imbalance dominantly distorts the estimate position information of ATO. Minority papers have reported position error compensation of resolver's output signal with amplitude imbalance. This paper proposes new ATO algorithm in order to compensate position errors caused by the amplitude imbalance. There is no need premeasured off line data. This is easy, simple, cost-effective, and able to work on line compensation. To verify feasibility of the proposed algorithm, simulation and experiments are carried out.

  • In this study, we propose a neuro-genetic controller combined with a linear controller in parallel to improve the tracking performance of the Line of Sight(LOS) stabilization system and reject the effect of disturbances. A Genetic Algorithm(GA) is used to optimize weights of the neuro-genetic controller since this algorithm can search a global minimum without derivatives or other auxiliary knowledge. The LOS system is very complex and has limited measurable output data. Under these specific circumstances GA solves many problems that other training methods have. Computer simulation results show that the, proposed controller makes better tracking response and rejection of disturbance than a linear controller.

  • This paper describes the application of the recently developed feedback linearization technique to the design of a new command to line-of-sight (CLOS) guidance law for skid-to-turn (STT) missiles. The key idea lies in converting the three dimensional CLOS guidance problem to the tracking problem of a time-varying nonlinear system. Then, using a feeedback linearizing approach to tracking in nonlinear systems, we design a three dimensional CLOS guidance law that can ensure zero miss distance for a randomly maneuvering target. Our result may shed new light on the role of the feedforward acceleration terms used in the earlier CLOS guidance laws. Furthermore, we show that the new CLOS guidance law can be computationally simplified without performance degradation. This is made possible by dropping out the terms in the new CLOS guidance law, which obey the well-known matching condition.
