In the synthesis of the current source distribution function of an array antenna with the arbitrary radiation pattern, the Woodward-Lawson sampling method has been mainly used for the synthesis of an even function lobe pattern. In this paper, the method is extended to the synthesis of the odd function pattern and then the optimum synthesis method for the nonlinear source distribution function is proposed. The proposed method is applied to the design of nonuniform transmission lines with arbitrary reflection responses. The both dispersive impedance profiles of single and coupled nonuniform lines with arbitrary reflection responses are directly synthesized by the sampled values of a reflected spectral pattern which is optimally shaped by a perturbation of its complex null positions, hence removing the conventional step-by-step segmentation process and global optimization routines. The control problem in the case that all of port impedances are identical is also solved. The generality of the proposed method is verified by a filter design with the controlled arbitrary passband
Tropical forests play a critical role in mitigating climate change, and therefore, an accurate and precise estimation of tropical forest carbon (C) is needed. However, there are many uncertainties associated with C stock estimation in a tropical forest, mainly due to its large variations in biomass. Hence, we quantified C stocks in an intact lowland mixed dipterocarp forest (MDF) in Brunei, and investigated variations in biomass and topography. Tree, deadwood, and soil C stocks were estimated by using the allometric equation method, the line intersect method, and the sampling method, respectively. Understory vegetation and litter were also sampled. We then analyzed spatial variations in tree and deadwood biomass in relation to topography. The total C stock was 321.4 Mg C $ha^{-1}$, and living biomass, dead organic matter, and soil C stocks accounted for 67%, 11%, and 23%, respectively, of the total. The results reveal that there was a relatively high C stock, even compared to other tropical forests, and that there was no significant relationship between biomass and topography. Our results provide useful reference data and a greater understanding of biomass variations in lowland MDFs, which could be used for greenhouse gas emission-reduction projects.
Nurses in today's challenging health care settings need to be skilled critical thinkers and clinical experts. The nurse must be able to use a broad knowledge base to mobilize resources, coordinate actions and evaluate outcomes in complex new situations. So the national licensing examination for registered nurses is change to improve the quality of professional competency of nurses in Korea. Prior to this, learning objectives should be developed and improved periodically. The purpose of this study is to describe the nursing competency to provide base line data for developing learning objectives in adult health nursing. This study was conducted by means of a questionnaire which was developed by the researcher after reviewing the literature. The questionnaire was based on learning objectives which were developed by a nation-wide nursing faculty majoring in adult health nursing. The subjects were 45 nurses in a middle level hospital. The collected data were treated using SPSS Win 7.5 Statistical Package so as to obtain such descriptive statistics as mean score, frequency, and to test reliability test, nonpar-Friedman test. To summarize the major findings in this study, it showed the scope of nursing competency and can guide the direction of study and methodological criteria to develop learning objectives. Recommendations for further research are: firstly, it is necessary to state learning objectives with learners' behavioral terminology; secondly, to overcome locality in scope of this study, there is a need to analyze with nation-wide sampling by an in-depth statistical analysis; thirdly, because the subjects of this study are mostly three-year graduate nurses, there is a need to compare this study with other studies of different subjects.
Importance of appearance as a means of self-expression and communication is increasing in modern society even for men. And appearance has become an significant factor affecting men's quality of life. The main objectives of this study were to develop an instrument measuring appearance related quality of life(ARQoL), and examine the body factors influencing ARQoL. The ARQoL instrument was developed from in-depth interviews, focus group interviews, and literature review, and were revised through two pre-tests. The final questionnaire was administered through on-line survey with 440 men. Quota sampling was used based on age and body size. The results indicated that high ARQoL group showed significantly higher satisfaction on body factors including face, weight, shape, body proportion, hair, and overall impression than low ARQoL group. There was no significant difference in terms of satisfaction on height between two groups. Factor analysis showed that ARQoL consists of four factors - physical, economic, psychological and social factors. Overall impression was the most important body factor affecting all four factors of ARQoL and has very strong influence especially on economic ARQoL. BMI was also a significant factor affecting physical, economic and social ARQoL except psychological factor of ARQoL. Face had significant influence only on economic and psychological aspects of ARQoL.

An improved method was developed to determine gas-phase hydrogen peroxide($H_2O_2$) and organic hydro-peroxides (ROOH) in real-time, The analytical system for $H_2O_2$ is based on formation of hydroxybenzoic acid (OHBA), a strong fluorescent compound. OHBA is formed by a sequence of reactions, photoreduction of Fe(III)-EDTA to Fe(II)-EDTA, the Fenton reaction of Fe(II)-EDTA with $H_2O_2$, and hydroxylation of benzoic acid. By use of this analytical method rather than a previous similar method, Fenton reaction time was reduced from 2 min. to 30s. Air samples were collected by a surfaceless inlet to prevent inlet line losses. With a special arrangement of the sampling apparatus, sample delivery time was drastically reduced from ${\sim}5\;min\;to\;{\sim}20\;s$. The automated system was found to be sensitive, capable of continuous monitoring, and affordable to operate. A comparison of this method with a well-established one showed an excellent linear correlation, validating applicability of this technique to $H_2O_2$ determination. The system was applied to field measurements conducted during summertime of 2004 in Gwangju, South Korea. $H_2O_2$ was found to be a predominant species of peroxides. The diurnal variation of $H_2O_2$ displayed the maximum in early afternoon and the broad minimum throughout night. $H_2O_2$ was correlated positively with ozone, photochemical age, and temperature, however, negatively with $NO_x$ and relative humidity.

This paper presents the efficient localization of a mobile robot traveling on the floor with tags installed, using the spatial and temporal information acquired from passive RFID environment. Compared to previous research, the proposed localization method can reduce the position estimation error and also cut down the initial cost tag installation cost. Basically, it is assumed that a mobile robot is traveling over a series of straight line segments, each at a certain constant velocity, and that the number of tags sensed by a mobile robot at each sampling instant is at most one. First, the velocity and position estimation of a mobile robot starting from a known position, which is valid for all segments except the first one. Second, for the first segment in which the starting position is unknown, the velocity and position estimation is made possible by enforcing a mobile robot to traverse at least two tags at a constant velocity with the steering angle unchanged. Third, through experiments using our passive RFID localization system, the validity and performance of the mobile robot localization proposed in this paper is demonstrated.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of product variables(i.e., fashionability, brand fame) and situational variables(i.e., time constraint, usage occasion) on the internet browsing behavior (i.e., prepurchase search; ongoing search for products, stores, fashion trends, promotions, and post-purchasing information) for fashion products. This study developed hypothetical scenarios based on the factorial design of the two independent variables for the survey with a questionnaire. All items in the questionnaire were measured on a six-point scale. By convenience sampling and on-line survey, a total of 209 usable responses were used for further analyses. The results show as follows; firstly, respondents more intensively browse for information search on products, stores and fashion trends when the style of browsing products is trendy. Secondly, whether the fashion products have a famous brand name or not has a significant influence on browsing behavior for stores and fashion trends information search. Thirdly, time constraint is found to influence significantly on respondents' browsing for promotions information search. Lastly, occasion for product worn shows a significant influence on browsing behavior for stores and fashion trends information search. The managerial implications are provided based on findings.

The objective of this study was to determine factors affecting sun protective behavior and intention to buy UV protective clothing among outdoor sport persons in Korea. A self-administered questionnaire was distributed to mountain climbers, bikers and in-line skaters with a convenience sampling method. Two theoretical frameworks, health belief(HB) model and diffusion theory(DT) were used for the study. Based on HB model, sun protection behaviors(SPBs) were associated with cancer perception, perceived benefits, behavioral barriers and cues to actions based on the HB model. Based on DT model, intention to buy (ITB) was determined by an individual's perceived attributes of UV protective shirt. Appearance concern variables were added to the extended HB model. The extended DT model was proposed by adding the variables in the HB model and variables of appearance concern. Multiple regression analysis was applied. Results were as follows. First, perceived benefits, behavioral barriers, cues to action, and all three appearance concern variables as well as gender and age were significant determinants of SPB for Korean outdoor consumers. Second, relative advantage, compatibility, friability, behavioral barriers and cues to action with some appearance concern variables were significant in affecting intention to buy UV protective clothes. Extended HB model and extended DT model were useful to understand SPBs of Korean outdoor consumers.

Objectives: This study was obtained to identify current education status of the community dental hygiene practice. Methods: It was designed cross section and self-reported on-line questionnaire(Survey monkey). It was performed probability sampling by targeting 82 dental hygiene schools(each one faculty member) in charge of community dental hygiene curriculum and 254 community health centers's community dental hygienists whom was working at oral health section. The response rate was 60% and 53%, respectively. The questionnaire consisted of time, duration, practice group, evaluation method, and practice contents including 63 learning objectives of dental hygiene. Results: Nearly half of these schools conduct such community field work practice in the spring semester of the junior year. This practice was mainly progressed based on average 4 students as one team per each one school for 7-8 hours a day during the period of more than 5 weeks(p<0.05). However, in case of both school and community health center, almost half of feedback after practice was not achieved and there was a difference in needs for practice education between schools and community health center. Conclusions: We should be considered that a sufficient consultation for the practice environment and its contents between schools and community health centers. It was considered that development of a standardized practice manual reflecting such requirement.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships between demographic variables and seven aspects of clothing behavior of adult males, and to attempt to develop the measurement of men's clothing behavior. Age was ranked by five gradation (20∼60 ages) and socio-economic status was divided into three categories (high, middle, low) based on the subjects' education, occupation and economic status. Six aspects of clothing comfort, satisfaction, status symbol, conformity, fashion interest and clothing acceptance I were assessed with Koh's, Chung's and Lee's questionnaires. Clothing acceptance by line-drawing of clothing syles representing different levels of formality for occasions designed to measure the awareness of appropriate clothing category of business suits. The questionnaires in this study were administered to a sample of men living in Seoul. The sample was drawn by the random-cluster sampling method. The data from 362 respondants were analysed. To determine the internal validity of clothing behavior mesurement, factor analysis was computed, whereas to determine the reliability, Cronbach's alpha was calculated. The statistical methods adopted were correlation, one-way ANOVA, and multiple regression. The results obtained in this study were as follows: 1) As for clothing behavior instruments, items dealing with status symbol and fashion nterest were proved to be satisfactory as a measurement of adult males. Eight factors emerged on clothing acceptance Ⅱ, most of which were representing unappropriate clothing choice for occasion. 2) Demographic variables were significantly related to the adult males' clothing behavior. (1) Age was positively related to clothing conformity but negatively to fashion interest. (2) Socio-economic status was positively related to clothing satisfaction, status symbol, and fashion interest but negatively to clothing confort. (3) When age was controlled, socio-economic status was negatively related to comfort in 40∼50s age group only, and negatively related to clothing conformity in 20∼30s age group only. (4) Four subscales of clothing acceptance Ⅱ representing unappro-priate clothing practice for selected occasions were negatively related to age and/or socio-economic status.
