In this paper, we use Fuzzy Logic and Potential field method for optimal path planning of an autonomous mobile robot and apply to navigation for real-time mobile robot in 2D dynamic environment. For safe navigation of the robot, we use both Global and Local path planning. Global path planning is computed off-line using sell-decomposition and Dijkstra algorithm and Local path planning is computed on-line with sensor information using potential field method and Fuzzy Logic. We can get gravitation between two feature points and repulsive force between obstacle and robot through potential field. It is described as a summation of the result of repulsive force between obstacle and robot which is considered as an input through Fuzzy Logic and gravitation to a feature point. With this force, the robot fan get to desired target point safely and fast avoiding obstacles. We Implemented the proposed algorithm with Pioneer-DXE robot in this paper.
This paper deals with a moving coil type linear motor for fast access of the miniature ODD. This slim-line motor is composed of the mover supported by guide mechanism, the coil wound into it, and the yoke attached to the permanent magnet for stator. The driving force is generated by the PM of the stator and the current in the coils of the mover. Magnetic circuit analysis and Finite Element Method are applied to estimate the thrust force at air gap. In order to compare the force characteristics between two methods, various experiment results are applied to verify on a prototype. Also the flexible modes of the motor are predicted through the FEM and the structural components are modified to locate this on high frequency region.
The detemination of sound pressure radiated from peoriodic plate structures is fundamental in the estimation of noise levels in aircraft fuselages and ship hull structures. As a robust approach to this problem, here a very general and comprehensive analytical model for predicting the sound radiated by a vibrating plate stiffened by periodically spaced orthogonal symmetric beams subjected to a sinusoidally time varying point load is developed. The plate is assumed to be infinite in extent, and the beams are considered to exert both line force and moment reactions on it. Structural damping is included in both plate and beam materials. A space harmonic series representation of the spatial variables is used in conjunction with the Fourier transform to find the sound pressure in terms of harmonic coefficients. From this theoretical model. the sound pressure levels on axis in a semi-infinite fluid (water) bounded by the plate with the variation in the locations of an external time harmonic point force on the plate can be calculated efficiently using three numerical tools such as the Gauss-Jordan method, the LU decomposition method and the IMSL numerical package.
Objective: The purpose of this study was to observe stress distribution and displacement patterns of the entire maxillary arch with regard to distalizing force vectors applied from interdental miniscrews. Methods: A standard three-dimensional finite element model was constructed to simulate the maxillary teeth, periodontal ligament, and alveolar process. The displacement of each tooth was calculated on x, y, and z axes, and the von Mises stress distribution was visualized using color-coded scales. Results: A single distalizing force at the archwire level induced lingual inclination of the anterior segment, and slight intrusive distal tipping of the posterior segment. In contrast, force at the high level of the retraction hook resulted in lingual root movement of the anterior segment, and extrusive distal translation of the posterior segment. As the force application point was located posteriorly along the archwire, the likelihood of extrusive lingual inclination of the anterior segment increased, and the vertical component of the force led to intrusion and buccal tipping of the posterior segment. Rotation of the occlusal plane was dependent on the relationship between the line of force and the possible center of resistance of the entire arch. Conclusions: Displacement of the entire arch may be dictated by a direct relationship between the center of resistance of the whole arch and the line of action generated between the miniscrews and force application points at the archwire, which makes the total arch movement highly predictable.
In order to analyze the tensile deformation characteristics of laser welded tailored blanks. laser welded blanks of different thikness and strength combinations were prepared and tensile tests were done. The tensile elongation along the direction perpendicular to weld line of laser welded blanks was reduced as increasing the deformation restraining force (strength X thicknes) ratio between two welded sheets and fracture occurred at weaker side of base sheets if void ration of welded sheets and fracture occurred at weaker side of base sheets if void ratio of weld section was less than 45% The tensile elongation along weld line reached above 90% of the elongation of base material if welding was done perfectly. Total elongation along the direction perpendicular to weld line was able to be predicted by force equilibrium and power law behavior of base sheets and it was related with the deformation of stronger sheet and formability of weaker side.
Off-line feedrate scheduling is presented as the advanced technology to regulate cutting forces at the desired level through change of feedrates. In rough cutting, the feedrate scheduling aims at reducing the machining time, which is the most important factor for better productivity. Thus, the largest force which can avoid breakage of tool shank and tooth is a reference force for feedrate scheduling in rough cutting. In this paper, a calculation method of the reference cutting force for feedrate scheduling is developed. This model calculates rupture plane of tooth using the FEM analysis of a tool and computes the reference force using the transverse rupture strength of a tool. Experiments validate that the presented feedrate scheduling model reduced machining time drastically and regulate cutting forces at the reference cutting force.

In this paper, we deal with three types of modelling method for the analysis of galloping in power transmission line (PTL). The single mass model is obtained under linearization method and it is applied into f-order model. On these models, the nature frequencies of PTL are obtained and it makes an effects on the galloping directly. In simulation, we verify that the maximum magnitude of nature frequency depends on the galloping distance of PTL. Also from the analysis of frequency response, a few of reduction method for galloping are introduced which is effected by distance of PTL, wind velocity and icing types.
The study is concerned with the investigation of curved line folding of developable surface from flat sheets of metal. General geometric relations among folding line, folded surface, folded angle are derived. From the derived geometric relations, the required plastic work and punch force are derived for the first approximation. Five methods of forming are suggested and the experiment is carried out using two chosen methods for the prismatic developable surfaces of which cross-sections have 103.deg.arc, 180.deg.arc, sinusoidal shape. In the die design for the tolding of prismatic developable surfaces, a stack of sheets were used to form shapes of the dies by which acceptable folded surfaces were obtained. The computed plastic work and punch force turned out to be in reasonable agreement with the experimental result.
A cycloidal speed reducer is a type of the speed reducers of machinery. The cycloidal speed reducer consists of two cycloidal plate gears, housing roller gear, input shaft, output pin and shaft, and eccentric bearings. Especially the cycloidal plate gear has the peculiar parts of the teeth, because of gearing with the housing roller gear that has the several rollers on the circular line. And then all teeth on the cycloidal plate gear can be designed to contact with the rollers on the housing roller gear at the same time. Therefore the cycloidal plate gear has always contact motion with rollers and the force is interacted between roller gear with cycloidal plate gear. Because the contact force and friction force must be required to improve the accuracy in design procedures of cycloidal speed reducers, this paper presents a force analysis considered friction effect approach derived by static force equilibrium condition, geometrical adaptation, instant velocity center method and relative velocity method.
In this study, the function of a hydraulic brake system with a vacuum booster is systematically analyzed according to the mutual relations which follow : - the brake pedal force vs. booster cylinder input force - the booster output force vs. master cylinder input force - the hydraulic line pressure vs. braking deceleration. A computer program is developed based on the theory which is able to predict and analyze the pedal force characteristics at the beginning of the initial stage of brake system design. Analytical results show good agreement with the experimental vehicle test.
