Normal operation when deeply submerged is a relatively easy task, and human operator control can often provide adequate performance. Near surface depthkeeping, on the other hand, is difficult to both man and machine. Because of the inherent limitation of the human operator, manual control may prove inadequate for near surface depthkeeping in some sea state. This paper describe the control algorithm of an automatic depth control system for submerged body that can be used for both near surface and deeply submerged depthkeeping operations. The computer simulations demonstrate the excellent depthkeeping performance of the controller under seaway effects.

Most verification of improvements for adaptive control schemes are. dependent on computer simulations, but these computer simulations have much limitation, because (if complex actual conditions of system. This paper is concerned with the constructions of a thermal process system for experiments with various control schemes. This thermal process system is composed of a water tank, PC-XT, AD/DA converters power supply and thermal sensors. We estimate. the algorithms of pole-assignment adaptive control in the manifold disturbances and environments, changing system dynamics. The system equations for thermal press are included.

Depending upon the existence of the battery, transponder is divided into active and passive transponder. The passive transponder operates without the inner battery and so has no limitation in its operating range and life time. But the power consumption in the smartcard should be low. In this paper, the analysis and design of the passive smartcard system oerated at 125kHz is presented and is confirmed by simulation and experiment.

The requirements for the high quality service is increased according to the changing of the internal environment. But, the computer system can not satisfy the requirement because of the limitation of the computer's own problem. This paper describes the network storage accelerator which can perform the high quality streaming service. We also show the implementation result of the streaming accelerator.

The correspondence problem for stereo image matching plays an important role in expanding view points as multi view video applications become more popular. The conventional disparity estimation algorithms have limitation to find exact disparities because they consider not image features but similiar intensity points. Thus we propose an efficient disparity estimation algorithm considering features of stereo image pairs. As simulation results, our proposed method confirms better intermediate views than the existing block-matching methods.

Atomic force microscopy(AFM) was used to study the polyethylene(PE) surfaces grafted and immobilized with acrylic acid by Ar plasma treatment. The topographical images and parameters including RMS roughness and Rp-v value provided an appropriate means to characterize the surfaces. The plasma grafting and immobilization method were a useful tool for the preparation of surfaces with carboxyl group. However, the plasma immobilization method turned out to have a limitation to use as a means of preparation of PE surface with specific functionalities, due to ablation effect during the Ar plasma treatment process.

In practice, not only the load current but also the load voltage may contain asymmetric and harmonic components. Instantaneous power using p-q theory is analyzed to have compensation of reactive power, harmonics and asymmetry at the same time. In this paper, the limitation of p-q theory by using only shunt or series active filter is analyzed. A new scheme is proposed to solve the above issues.

Due to high power ratings and low conduction loss, the IGBT has become more attractive in switching power supplies. However, its turn-on and turn-off characteristics cause severe switching loss and switching frequency limitation. This paper proposes 2.4kW, 48V, high efficiency half-bridge DC-DC converter using paralleled IGBT-MOSFET switch concept, where each of IGBT and MOSFET plays its part during on-periods and switching instants. The switching loss is analyzed by using the linearized model and the opteration of the converter are investigated by simulation results.
