Optimum Design of Greenhouse Roof Shape Using Genetic Algorithms - In Reference to Light Transmissivity - (유전알고리즘을 이용한 온실지붕 형상의 최적설계 - 광투과율을 중심으로 -)

  • In this study an optimization of greenhouse roof shape was performed to maximize solar light transmission which is one of the most important elements in greenhouse environment. To determine roof shape that maximize the total light transmissivity, a computer model for analysing light transmissivity was composed and the Genetic Algorithms was applied for solving optimization problems. By setting composite model as objective function(fitness function), the optimum combination of design variables(roof inclination angle, width ratio) was searched using Genetic Algorithms. The optimum combination of input variables for the maximum light transmissivity at Suwon in winter was found 40 degree root angle , 0.5 width ratio, for two span greenhouses and 37 $_。 / roof angle, 0.7 width ratio, for single span greenhouses.es.

A Study on Manufacturing of LCD Prism Sheets Through Silicon Anisotropic Etching (실리콘 이방성 식각을 통한 LCD 프리즘 시트 제작 연구)

  • Prism sheet of LCD BLU which depends on supply from Japan and U.S.A was studied by using Si anisotropic etching and injection molding technologies. First, the prism sheet was patterned on Si wafer through photolithography, and the best conditions of Si etching were determined through etching Si wafer with TMAH to obtain straight optimized zigzag patterns, and a cross pattern to provide light diffusion and concurrent focusing. The etch rate of TMAH was concluded to be constant for $25wt%-70^{\circ}C$ condition. Ni stamp of prism sheet was made by electrodeposition using patterned Si wafer, normal or fast H/C(Heating/Cooling) injections were carried out to fabricate prism sheet. It was known that fast H/C injection could fabricate prism sheet more accurately than normal injection. Zigzag patterns and the cross pattern showed higher transmissivity than the straight patterns because of light diffusion through diagonal direction. The fast H/C injection for zigzag patterns showed lower transmissivity than normal injection because there occurred more light diffusion through precise injection patterns, but the fast H/C injection for straight patterns showed only refraction without diffusion, causing lower transmissivity than normal injection.

  • The composition of base glass was selected as MgO 8, Al2O3 24, SiO2 68 in weight percent. TiO2 and ZrO2 were added to the base glass to investigate their effects as nucleating agents. In the case of ZrO2 addition, the optimum temperature for nucleation, which was related to the precipitation of tetragonal ZrO2, was 80$0^{\circ}C$. The optimum growth condition for the crystal was 87$0^{\circ}C$ for 8 hrs, and the major crystal phases precipitated in the samples were $\beta$-quartz ss. and mullite. The light transmissivity turned out to be around 80 per cent. On the other hand, when the TiO2 was added, it was difficult to determine the nucleating temperature, because the samples turned easily into translucency during the heat treatment. Therefore, it was almost impossible to retain transparency in the samples. The light transmissivity was below 30 per cent.

Effects of frame ratio and length on the transmissivity of solar radiation in glasshouse by a computer simulation (컴퓨터 시뮬레이션에 의한 유리온실내의 일사 투과율에 미치는 골조율 및 동길이의 영향)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the effects of the frame ratio and greenhouse length on the transmissivities of direct and diffuse solar radiation in glasshouse using a computer simulation model developed by Kim and Lee(1997). Transmissivity of diffuse solar radiation slightly decreased as the frame ratio increased. There was no effect of number of spans on the transmissivity of diffuse solar radiation at the same frame ratio. In single or multispan glasshouse, transmissivity of direct solar radiation was 1.5-3.0% higher at the frame ratio of 11.3% than those at the frame ratio of 14.9%. Also the transmissivity of direct solar radiation was 1.5-3.0% lower at the frame ratio of 18.3% than those at the frame ratio of 14.9%. Effect of the increased or decreased frame ratio on the transmissivity of direct solar radiation was similar in I-W or S-N glasshouse. Since the high transmissivity of direct solar radiation exerted a beneficial influence upon the plant growth during winter season, the light and endurable structural members were needed to maximize the transmission of solar radiation in glasshouse. Transmissivity of direct solar radiation in I-W or S-N glasshouse did not vary with the length of 24.5m long or more.

  • Blue light is a blue-based light existing at a wavelength between 380 and 450 nm, and it has been reported that it induces active oxygen and causes aging, and accordingly, interest in the blue light blocking effect is increasing. In this study, the effects of the polarity of oil, viscosity of the formulation, type of emulsifier, emulsified particles, and inorganic UV blocking agents on the blue light blocking effect in UV blocking products were investigated. As a result, it was confirmed that the blue light blocking rate increased as the polarity of the oil became similar to that of the organic UV blocker, and the higher the viscosity of the formulation, the higher the blue light blocking rate. The types of emulsifiers and emulsified particles had little effect on the blue light blocking effect, and the presence of inorganic UV blocking agents was found to be one of the factors that greatly influenced the blue light blocking rate. These results can effectively increase the efficiency of blocking blue light, and may be used in the development of blue light blocking products and formulation research in the future.

  • This study was conducted to response the photosynthetic rate and anatomical characters in one year ginseng plant against the light transmission ratio (10%, 20% and 30% in natural light) under shading materials by polyethylene (PE) net. The chlorophyll content and the photosynthesis of ginseng according to the light transmissivity showed decreasing trend as the light transmission ratio increased. At the higher light transmission ratio condition, leaves showed the chlorosis due to the physiological disorder, stems formed hypodermis, and phloem development inside the vascular tissue shrunk remarkably. Also, roots showed the epidermis destruction and less cambium development at the higher light intensity. The root weight also decreased as the light transmission ratio increased.

  • There was no difference in total light transmissivity of covering materials. But the light transmittance of J-2 in greenhouse was by 78.25 which was higher than any other film. The high light transmittance of J-2 was come from low water condensation and dust attached in film surface. The ultraviolet light of J-3 was completely intercepted. The ultraviolet transmittance rate of others was from 62 to 76%. In no heating oriental melon cultivation, the air temperature in tunnel was 15 to $21^{\circ}C$ higher than outer, and the soil temperature in tunnel was 20 to $25^{\circ}C$ higher than outer. Air temperature and soil temperature of J-2 were higher than any other film.

Study of Paprika Growth Characteristic on Covering Selective Light Transmitting Filter in Greenhouse (선택적 광 투과에 따른 파프리카 생육특성 연구)

  • This study aimed to a basic research for the development of dye-sensitized solar cells that the wavelength band required for crop growth is passed, and the wavelength band that is not necessary for crop growth can be used for the generation of electricity. The transmissivity according to the illuminance was about 10% higher in the Blue filter and the Green filter than in the Red filter, but the transmissivity according to the PPFD was about 10% higher in the Red filter and the Blue filter than in the Green filter. In addition, the greenhouse attached with 30% infrared blocking filter was predicted to have a lower air temperature than other greenhouses, but it was investigated that there was no significant difference. Therefore, it was investigated that the application of the infrared cut filter would not be appropriate in a greenhouse that controls the temperature by opening a window. As a result of investigating, it was found that the Green and Blue filter greenhouses had the severe overgrowth and the stems grew weaker. The fresh weight of paprika in the infrared blocking filter greenhouse was the highest at 678.9g, and the growth of Red filter and the control greenhouses was relatively poor. Photosynthetic rate, amount of transpiration, and stomatal conductivity were the infrared blocking filter and control greenhouse higher than others. On the other hand, the water use efficiency did not show a big difference.

  • We have designed high performance flexible prism light-guide plate (LGP) in 5 inch TFT-LCD for mobile applications. We adopted novel material such as methacrylate and butyl acrylate mixture, as it called KURARITY. It has good flexibility by addition of butyl acrylate. And it has also good transmissivity because methacrylate is a major compound. Then, we achieved good test result to embody high brightness and flexible BLU in case of LGP of base and upper surface with 5 inch, thickness 1.5mm adding prism construct, it is superior brightness improvement than previous flexible LGP. It shows significant improvement than previous printing form about some 5% and in this course to flexible embody actual material it succeeded prism LGP production by 5 inch injection form process.
