  • This study has explained about LED for BLU which is widely used in the kinds of display devices or lighting. It was shown that the open due to delamination were the dominant LED for BLU failure mode and mechanisms from failure analysis of LED samples. Then, we have defined failure as yellowing and 100% reduction of light output intensity of LED for BLU and acceleration factors as temperature and current in Accelerated Life Test(ALT). Finally, we have estimated the Weibull distribution, life-stress relationship, and accelerating factor is used by ALTA Software.

  • Spatial light modulators (SLMs) are centrally important devices in volumetric recording, data Processing, Pattern recognition and other optical systems. Various types of reusable SLMs with two-dimensional pixel arrays have been intensively developed. Of these, magneto-optic spatial light modulators (MOSLMs) have advantages of high switching speed, robustness, nonvolatility, and radioactive resistance. In this article, we review recent development work on MOSLMs, mainly in relation to our own studies.

Photodynamic Therapy에 의한 산화적 스트레스 조건에서 Helicobacter pylori의 Fur 단백질의 역할 (The Role of Helicobacter pylori's Fur Protein in the Oxidative Stress Induced by Photodynamic Therapy)

  • Helicobacter pylori균의 ferric uptake regulator (Fur) 단백질의 산화적 손상에 대한 역할을 연구하였다. H. pylori균의 fur 유전자를 제거한 돌연변이체를 만들고 wild type H. pylori균과 돌연변이체 균의 산화적 스트레스에 대한 반응을 비교하였다. 산화적 스트레스는 methylene blue와 660 nm 파장의 빛을 이용하는 광역학적 치료방법으로 유도하였다. 산화적 스트레스를 가한 실험조건에서 wt H. pylori와 돌연변이체의 생존력, DNA 손상의 정도를 비교 검토하였다. 그 결과 fur 유전자가 제거된 돌연변이체의 생균수가 wt에 비해 10,000배 가량 감소한 것을 알 수 있었으며 DNA의 산화적 손상의 marker인 8-hydroxy-2-deoxyguanosine (8-OHdG)의 양도 fur 유전자 제거된 돌연변이에서 wild type에 비해 3배 정도 더 생성됨을 확인하였다. 따라서 본 실험결과 H. pylori균의 fur 유전자가 PDT법으로 유도한 산화적 스트레스에 방어 기작을 하는 것으로 사료된다.

CAE 해석을 이용한 자동차용 AA6061 리어 서브-프레임의 경량화 설계 (Light-weight Design of Automotive AA6061 Rear Sub-frame Based on CAE Simulation)

  • It is well known that the targeted fuel efficiency could only be achieved by more than 40% reduction of the vehicle weight through improved design and extensive utilization of lightweight materials. In order to obtain the goal of the weight reduction of automobiles, the researches about lighter and stronger rear sub-frame have been studied without sacrificing the safety of rear sub-frame. In this study, the weight reduction design process of rear sub-frame could be proposed based on the variation of von-Mises stress contour by substituting an AA6061 (aluminum 6061 alloy) having tensile strength of 310 MPa grade instead of SAPH440 steels. In addition, the stress ratio variations (stress over fatigue limit) of the rear sub-frame were examined and compared carefully. It could be reached that this approach method could be well established and be contributed for light-weight design guide and the optimum design conditions of the automotive rear sub-frame development.

  • Rotating bogie frame will be used in the bogie for the Light Rail Train being developed. In development of the bogie, analyzed were the structural strength and fatigue characteristics of the rotating bogie frame. Defined load cases were applied for the analysis. No part of the rotating bogie frame is subjected to stress beyond the fatigue endurance limits of the material used when grinding the weldment of the lower plate link bend. It is concluded that the rotating bogie frame is considered safe in the view of the structural strength.

Detecting Drought Stress in Soybean Plants Using Hyperspectral Fluorescence Imaging

  • Purpose: Soybean growth is adversely affected by environmental stresses such as drought, extreme temperatures, and nutrient deficiency. The objective of this study was to develop a method for rapid measurement of drought stress in soybean plants using a hyperspectral fluorescence imaging technique. Methods: Hyperspectral fluorescence images were obtained using UV-A light with 365 nm excitation. Two soybean cultivars under drought stress were analyzed. A partial least square regression (PLSR) model was used to predict drought stress in soybeans. Results: Partial least square (PLS) images were obtained for the two soybean cultivars using the results of the developed model during the period of drought stress treatment. Analysis of the PLS images showed that the accuracy of drought stress discrimination in the two cultivars was 0.973 for an 8-day treatment group and 0.969 for a 6-day treatment group. Conclusions: These results validate the use of hyperspectral fluorescence images for assessing drought stress in soybeans.

축인장하(軸引張下)의 평판(平板)의 단부(段部) Fillet 근처(近處)의 Relieving Groove가 응력집중(應力集中)에 미치는 영향(影響) (Effect of the Semi-circular Relieving Groove on the Stress Concentration at the Fillet of the Stepped Bar under Axial Tension)

  • A stepped bar with seimi-circular stress relieving groove near the fillet was subjected by axial tension in a polarized light field. On the stress concentration factor, the effect of the ratios of the fillet radius, the distance between two relieving grooves and the groove radius to the breath of the narrower portion of the stepped bar have been investigate. Observing the stress concentration in 48 models with various proportions, the conclusion arrived at were as follow: 1) If the fillet radius of the stepped bar is larger than half breadth of the narrower portion, the reduction of the stress concentrations can not be expected. 2) If the fillet radius is smaller than half breadth of the narrower portion of the stepped bar, the stress concentration can be droped to the reasonable range. 3) When the groove radius is larger than a quarter of the difference between the distance of two relieving grooves and the breadth of the stepped bar and smaller than a half of that, the stress concentration factors can have their possible minimum value. 4) When the sun of the breadth of the narrower portion of the stepped bar and twice of the relieving groove radius is smaller than the distance between two relieving grooves, minimum stress concentration can be obtained.

  • Habitat observation, cultural experience of old and present plantation, weather factors in relation to crop stand and water physiology of root and leaf were reviewed. According to habitat observation ginseng plants love water but plate wit talus well grow at drained place with high moisture content in air and soil while ginseng plants were not found in dry or wet place. According to cultivation experience ginseng plants require abundant water in nursery and main field but most old planters believe that ginseng plaints are draught-loving thus require little water. The experience that rain especially in summer i.e unfavorable might be due to mechanical damage of leaves arid leaf disease infection, or severe leaf fall which is caused by high air temperature and coinsided with rain. According to crop stand observation in relation to weather factors abunsant water increased each root weight but decreased total yield indicating tile increase of missing root rate. Rain in summer was unfavorable too. Though rain in June was favorable for high yield general experience that cloudy day and rain were unfavorable might be due to low light intensity under shade. Present leading planters also do loot consider the importance of water in main field. Water content is higher in top than in root and highest in central portion of root and in stem of top. For seedling the heavier the weight of root is tile higher the water content while it reveries from two years old. Water potential of intact root appeared to be -2.89 bar suggesting high sensitivity to water environment. Under water stress water content severly decreased only in leaf. Water content of leaf appeared to be 78% for optimum, below 72% for functional damage and 68% for perm anent wilting. Transpiration or curs Principally through stomata in lower side of leaf thus contribution of upper side transpiration decreased with the increase of intensity. Transpiration is greater in the leaves grown under high light intensity. Thus water content is lower with high light inte nsity under field condition indicating that light is probable cause of water stress in field. Transpiration reached maximum at 10K1ut The decrease of transpiration at higher temperature seems to be due to the decrease of stomata aperture caused by water stress. Severe decrease of photosynthesis under water stress seems to be principally due to functional damage which is not caused by high temperature and Partly due to poor CO2 supply. Water potential of leaf appeared to be -16.8 bar suggesting weakness in draught tolerance. Ginseng leaves absorb water under high humidity. Water free space of leaf disc is %mailer than that of soybean leaf and water uptake appears to be more than two steps.

고강도 경량 콘크리트의 부착특성 (Bond Characteristics of High-Strength Light-Weight Concrete)

  • 최근들어 그 필요성이 증대되고 있는 경량 콘크리트의 경우, 부착강도의 저하를 고려하여 ACI 규준에서는 부착길이 보정계수를 도입하여 안전율을 높이고 있으나, 경량 콘크리트가 고강도화됨에 따라 어느 정도 부착강도의 증징이 있을 것으로 판단된다. 따라서 ACI 규준에서 정하고 있는 경량 콘크리트에 대한 부착길이 보정계수 ${\lambda}$=1.3을 고강도 경량 콘크리트에 적용할 경우 그 적정성 여부에 대한 검토가 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 고강도 경량 콘크리트의 부착특성을 알아보기 위하여 콘크리트 압축강도, 피복두께, 철근직경, 부착길이 등을 변수로 하여 Pull-out 실험을 실시하였다. 실험결과 부착응력은 콘크리트 압축강도 제곱근과 피복두께가 증가함에 따라 증가하였고, 철근직경과 부칙길이가 증가함에 따라 감소하였으며, 파괴양상은 피복두께에 따라 쪼개짐 파괴와 뽑힘 파괴를 나타내었다. 고강도 경량 콘크리트의 부착응력을 보통중량 콘크리트보다는 큰 값을 나타낸다. 따라서 ACI 규준에서 정하고 있는 경량 콘크리트 부착길이 보정계수를 고강도 경량 콘크리트에 적용할 경우 경량 콘크리트의 고강도화에 따른 부착응력 상승효과를 고려하여 하향조정하여야 할 것으로 판단된다. 또한 피복두께 2.5$d_b$ 이상일 경우 적용하는 피복두께 보정계수 0.8은 고강도 경량 콘크리트에도 그대로 적용할 수 있음을 알 수 있다.

태양전지의 저가격.고효율화를 위한 Ni/Cu/Ag 전극에 관한 연구 (The Research of Solar Cells Applying Ni/Cu/Ag Contact for Low Cost & High Efficiency)

  • The metallic contact system of silicon solar cell must have several properties, such as low contact resistance, easy application and good adhesion. Ni is shown to be a suitable barrier to Cu diffusion as well as desirable contact metal to silicon. Nickel monosilicide(NiSi) has been suggested as a suitable silicide due to its lower resistivity, lower sintering temperature and lower layer stress than $TiSi_2$. Copper and Silver can be plated by electro & light-induced plating method. Light-induced plating makes use the photovoltaic effect of solar cell to deposit the metal on the front contact. The cell is immersed into the electrolytic plating bath and irradiated at the front side by light source, which leads to a current density in the front side grid. Electroless plated Ni/ Electro&light-induced plated Cu/ Light-induced plated Ag contact solar cells result in an energy conversion efficiency of 16.446 % on $0.2\sim0.6\;{\Omega}{\cdot}cm$, $20\;\times\;20\;mm^2$, CZ(Czochralski) wafer.
