  • As a follow-up to our previous work we present in this paper some experimental results on LED light recycling. Specifically we demonstrate for the first time that screen brightness can be increased using our light pipe based light recycling scheme for reallife projection display applications.

  • 알루미늄이나 마그네슘과 같은 경량금속은 스크랩 용해과정에서 수분과의 반응으로 수소농도가 증가하게 되며, 재활용을 위해서는 추가적인 합금성분의 첨가 및 탈 수소 공정이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 경량금속 스크랩 용해공정에 사용되는 정련로에 대하여 배플의 유무 및 임펠러를 사용한 기계적 교반이 탈 가스 거동에 미치는 영향에 대하여 조사하였다. 수 모델 실험을 통해 유동현상의 관찰, 균일 혼합시간 및 탈 가스 속도를 측정하였고, 반응용기 내 난류 유동장에 대한 수치해석을 통해 기계적 교반을 실시하는 정련로에 대한 혼합 및 탈가스 거동을 정량화 하였다.

  • In scrapped material field, about ten millions ton of waste plastic materials are produced in korea. However recycling rate of waste plastic materials have above 25%. Therefore, it is urgently needed that they are used as recycled materials in order to prevent environment pollution and grain economic profits. In this paper, physical and mechanical properties of light weight concrete using waste plastic materials for aggregates are described in order to develop a light weight concrete with the aggregate made from waste plastic goods, it was carried out many experiments on mix proportion and strength. According to the experimental results, high-strength mortar was necessary to make light weight concrete using aggregate of waste plastic materials. Especially, considering the side of recycling of plastic wastes, it is recommended that recycled aggregates made from waste plastic materials is applied to light weight concrete.

PYROPROCESSING FLOWSHEETS FOR RECYCLING USED NUCLEAR FUEL

  • Two conceptual flowsheets were developed for recycling used nuclear fuel. One flowsheet was developed for recycling used oxide nuclear fuel from light water reactors while the other was developed for recycling used metal fuel from fast spectrum reactors. Both flowsheets were developed from a set of design principles including efficient actinide recovery, nonproliferation, waste minimization and commercial viability. Process chemistry is discussed for each unit operation in the flowsheet.

  • 디스플레이는 액정 디스플레이(LCD), 음극선관(CRT), 플라즈마 디스플레이 패널(PDP), 발광 다이오드(LED), 유기 발광 다이오드(OLED) 등 여러 종류가 있다. 경제적, 효율적 관점에서 폐 디스플레이의 재활용 기술은 폭넓게 연구되어 왔다. 본 연구에서는 폐 디스플레이의 재활용 기술에 대한 특허와 논문을 분석하였다. 분석범위는 1980년~2011년까지의 미국, 유럽연합(EU), 일본, 한국의 등록/공개된 특허와 SCI 논문으로 제한하였다. 특허와 논문은 키워드를 사용하여 수집하였고, 기술의 정의에 따라 필터링하였다. 특허와 논문의 동향은 연도, 국가, 기업, 기술에 따라 분석하여 나타내었다.

펄프섬유(纖維)의 제지특성(製紙特性)에 미치는 회수처리(回收處理)의 영향(影響) (Effect of Recycling on the Papermaking Properties of Wood Pulp Fibers)

  • In order to investigate the influence of recycling, a laboratory method simulating the papermaking process was used for assessing the effects of recycling on fiber properties. Sw-BKP, Hw-BKP and BGP were disintegrated and beaten to about 42$^{\circ}$SR-44$^{\circ}$SR by a valley beater. After beating, these pulps were dewatered by centrifuge and dried at 90$^{\circ}C$ for 72hrs. This recycling process(sequence of wetting, defiberating, dewatering and drying) was repeated seven times. Physical, mechanical and optical properties of recycled pulps were evaluated by TAPPI Standards. Morphological changes occurred through recycling process was observed by SEM. Sheet density decreased with recycling. The largest drop in density occurred during the first recycling. The porosity values decreased with recycling. Mechanical properties such as tensile, burst strength and folding endurance, decreased with recycling. However tear strength of Sw-BKP and mixtured pulp increased at the first recycling. Optical properties such as brightness, opacity and light scattering coefficient, increased with recycling. However, brightness of mixtured pulp gradually decreased with recycling. Fibrillated outer layer of the fiber was gradually removed from the surface with recycling. As a result of recycling, crinkles on the fiber surface were found to be more folded.

순환골재 생산 공정상에서 공기유동을 이용한 토분에 포함된 이물질 제거장치에 관한 연구 (Study on the Air-Flow Separator of Light Particles Included in the Clod in the Production Process of Recycling Aggregates)

  • In this paper, we present flow patterns around and performance of an air-flow separator by using the numerical analysis. With this separator, particles of different density are to be separated by using the drag force from the air flow. The low-density particles are designed to be separated by using inhalation through holes on a rotating drum. To obtain the flow informations needed for determining the proper design parameters, we have performed numerical simulations by using a commercial code, ANSYS CFX. Various parameter set was tested and it was found that depending on the design of drums there exist critical parameter set regarding the attachment of light particles on the drum, which is prerequisite for the separation of materials. We present here the possibility of using the present design in separation of particles mixed in the clod for use in recycling.

  • The stone powder sludges, which are occurred in aggregate production company, have classified the specified waste, so taking place the environment pollution and the disposal cost. In this causes, the stone powder sludge is required the development of recycling technique. This study concerned with the using possibility of stone powder sludge on light weight concrete. We acquired the fundamental date on recycling technique of stone sludges, by hydro-thermal reaction. The results shows that it is possible to develop the light weight concrete, having various range of properties according to the content of foam.

  • The recycling program about waste concrete is being progressed to national research. But research on waste concrete powder which is occurred in control process of concrete powder is not enough. Waste concrete powder includes in $SiO_2,\;Al_2O_3$, and CaO so that the create of tobermorite is possibile through Hydrothermal Syntesis Reaction. Tobermorite have an advantage of high strength, sulphuric acid resistance and the lower drying shrinkage. Accordingly, this study investigate in properties of light-weight foamed concrete made with waste concrete powder. As a results, light-weight foamed concrete made with waste concrete powder is the higher than stone powder sludge of density and porosity, and the tower compressive strength. Therefore, it is thought that light-weight foamed concrete using waste concrete powder is possible.

  • 국내 석탄 발전소에서 발생하는 Fly ash를 이용한 경량 골재 제조는 환경 보호와 천연 골재 고갈을 동시에 해결할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다. 건축물의 초고층화는 골재의 경량화를 요구하고 있다. Dwight-Lloyd kiln은 운전이 쉽고 신뢰성이 높아 현재 유일하게 석탄회 소결 골재 상업 생산에 이용되고 있다. 본 고에서는 일본 Oomura 발전소의 Dwight-Lloyd kiln설비에 대해 자세히 설명하였고, 아울러 현재 개발 단계인 Circular grate kiln, Shaft kiln, Rotary kiln 설비에 대해서 개략적으로 소개하였다.
