콘택트렌즈의 광투과율 특성 평가 (Evaluation of Transmittance Characteristics of Contact Lenses)

  • 자외선 차단 소프트렌즈, 통상의 소프트렌즈 및 RGP렌즈에 대한 광투과율 스펙트럼을 ANSI Z80.20 기준에 제시된 방법으로 측정하였다. 가시광선 및 자외선에 대한 광투과율 특성을 평가하기 위하여 특정 스펙트럼 파장 영역별, 즉 가시광선, UVA, UVB 및 UVC 영역별로 적분하여 계산하였다. 가시광선 영역의 평균 투과율은 3종류의 콘택트렌즈 모두 90% 이상으로 콘택트렌즈의 광투과율 허용 범위 내에 들었다. 자외선 차단 소프트렌즈의 경우 몇 개의 렌즈를 제외하고 UVA와 UVB 영역의 광투과율은 제시된 기준에 적합하였다. 통상의 소프트렌즈와 RGP 렌즈의 자외선 차단성은 예상했던 대로 낮았다. 이런 결과들은 콘택트렌즈의 광투과율 특성에 관한 정보 활용에 있어 현장의 안경사나 실무자에게 도움이 될 것으로 기대된다.

  • In the conventional AF lens actuating system the VCM actuator is used. However due to the actuating mechanism, the VCM actuator has disadvantage in miniaturizing which is essential to the actuator for the mobile device. Therefore novel type actuator is required and the one of the candidate is actuator using electoractive polymer (EAP). The EAP actuator is one of the attractive smart materials that is light and can be easily fabricated with low cost. This paper proposes an AF lens actuator for mobile phone using dielectric elastomer. The proposed actuator was designed and analyzed using finite element method. The designed actuator is verified by experiment and the position control algorithm is applied.

  • A 3D structure production method for microstereolithography is a useful way that produces complex structures with flexible processes and low cost. Several UV curable resins were blended and the optimal resin for micro-lens fabricate was selected through viscosity, workability and transmission tests. It consists of 1, 6 - Hexanediol diacrylate with 15 Apha and Isobornyl acrylate for reducing some shrinkage. When fabricating a micro-lens array on large surface, some distortion of shape occurred because of the surface tension between cured part. To overcome this problem, the optimal processing conditions were derived from considering amount of the resin and surface tension. Large surface Micro-lens array, which are a type of elliptical convex and consist of 18,000 micro-lens in the range of 2cm*2cm were fabricated. The focal length to the X-axis and Y-axis were calculated. To verify the performance, measure an energy distribution of transmitted light from the Large surface Micro-lens array.

Simple Graphical Selection of Optical Materials for an Athermal and Achromatic Design Using Equivalent Abbe Number and Thermal Glass Constant

  • This paper presents a new graphical method for selecting a pair of optical glasses to simultaneously achromatize and athermalize an imaging lens made of materials in contact. An athermal glass map that plots thermal glass constant versus inverse Abbe number is derived through analysis of optical glasses and plastic materials in visible light. By introducing the equivalent Abbe number and equivalent thermal glass constant, although it is a multi-lens system, we have a simple way to visually identify possible optical materials. Applying this method to design a phone camera lens equipped with quarter inch image sensor having 8-mega pixels, the thermal defocuses over $-20^{\circ}C$ to $+60^{\circ}C$ are reduced to be much less than the depth of focus of the system.

  • Recently, DVD/CD compatible driver is needed for DVD and CD is widely used as a new optical data restoring device. The optical systems of DVD and CD driver are different because they have different optical feature. If only one objective lens is used, the change of an aperture or a dual focal length of the lens is required. This method, however, increases the number of parts and results in loss of the power of laser light. Hence, we propose a dual lens actuator design that can read DVD and CD respectively. Albeit magnetic spring is important mechanism in the dual lens actuator design, there has not been the systematic approach to design the mechanism in the preceding researches. In this article. the guideway to design magnetic spring is presented by using the qualitative theoretical approach and the finite element analysis.

써클 소프트콘택트렌즈 착용 시 조도에 따른 동공의 가려짐과 시력 변화 (Changes in the Covering of Pupil and the Visual Acuity by the Illuminance when Wearing Circle Soft Contact Lens)

  • 목적: 일상생활에서의 조도 환경에 따라 써클 소프트콘택트렌즈의 착색부분에 의한 콘택트렌즈 착용자의 동공 가 려짐 정도를 확인하고 동공의 가려짐에 따른 시력 변화를 알아보고자 하였다. 방법: 20대 82안을 대상으로 비착색 부위가 렌즈 중심부 6.2 mm 직경인 써클 콘택트렌즈를 착용시키고 50 lx 및 370 lx의 조도에서 최소분리시력 및 최소가독시력을 측정하였다. 결과: 370 lx에서는 써클 콘택트렌즈 착용 시 착색부위에 의한 동공의 가려짐이 없었으나, 50 lx에서는 모든 실험대상안의 동공이 써클 콘택트렌즈에 의한 가려짐이 나타났으며 그 범위는 0.40~1.70 mm이었다. 50 lx에서는 써클 콘택트렌즈의 착용에 의해 최소가독시력 및 최소분리시력이 통계적으로 유의하게 감소하였으며, 동공 크기가 큰 실험대상안 일수록 시력의 감소 정도가 더 커지는 상관관계를 가짐을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한, 최소분리시력의 감소 정도가 최소가독시력의 경우보다 더 크게 나타나 동공의 가려짐에 의해 최소분리시력이 더 크게 영향을 받는 것을 알 수 있었다. 결론: 조도가 낮은 실내에서나 야간 활동 시의 써클 콘택트렌즈 착용은 시력에 직접적으로 영향을 끼칠 수 있으므로 이에 대한 착용자 및 제조사의 고려가 필요하다.

유리상 첨가한 안경렌즈 절삭용 재료 (Materials for Spectacle lens cutting with Glass phase)

  • 안경렌즈 절삭용 재료의 파괴인성과 경도를 향상시키기 위하여 glass상을 함유한 탄화규소계 복합재료를 개발하여 그 기계적 물성과 특성을 연구하고자 하였다. glass상을 갖는 탄화규소를 $1810^{\circ}C$에서 2시간, 25 MPa의 조건에서 일축 가압소결 공정으로 안경렌즈 절삭용 시편을 제조하였다. 파괴인성과 경도를 측정하여 전에 실험한 결과의 기계적 특성과 비교하였다. 본 연구에서 연구된 안경렌즈 절삭용 시편의 대표적인 경도와 파괴인성은 각각 12 GPa과 $5.1MPa{\cdot}m^{1/2}$ 이었다.

Analytic Solution for an Eaton Lens for Rotating 90°

  • The Eaton lens, with spherical symmetry to its refractive index, was described by Eaton in 1952 and was found recently in the design of an invisible sphere for cloaking. In this paper, an Eaton lens for rotating 90° was designed using Luneburg theory, by which we found it was a fourth-order equation in the refractive index n. Therefore, the refractive index n has four roots. The equation in n was solved and studied using mathematical technology. The unsuitable complex roots of the equation should be dropped; consequently, only one of the four roots remained. To verify the refractive-index profile, the only root was solved for, before a simulation using finite-element analysis (FEA) was performed. The simulation showed that all rays will bend 90° to the right. The result of the simulation is identical to our expectation. This treatment provides a possible method for rotating light at many other angles.

  • We have developed new rear LCD Projection TV engine with 3 projection lens. It has high brightness and contrast ratio, however poor cooling conditions. If optical components close to light source, optical components are damaged on high temperature, especially the blue among RGB colors is weakest by heat In this study, a new enhanced cooling method of LCD projection TV with 3 lens is shown: the best suited design of duct and relations between LCD panel and polarizer lifetime with changed area of duct.

다중빔 리소그래피를 위한 초소형 컬럼의 전자빔 광학 해석에 관한 연구 (Study on The Electron-Beam Optics in The Micro-Column for The Multi-Beam Lithography)

  • The aim of this paper is to describe the development of the electron-beam optic analysis algorithm for simulating the e-beam behavior concerned with electrostatic lenses and their focal properties in the micro-column of the multi-beam lithography system. The electrostatic lens consists of an array of electrodes held at different potentials. The electrostatic lens, the so-called einzel lens, which is composed of three electrodes, is used to focus the electron beam by adjusting the voltages of the electrodes. The optics of an electron beam penetrating a region of an electric field is similar to the situation in light optics. The electron is accelerated or decelerated, and the trajectory depends on the angle of incidence with respect to the equi-potential surfaces of the field. The performance parameters, such as the working distances and the beam diameters are obtained by the computational simulations as a function of the focusing voltages of the einzel lens electrodes. Based on the developed simulation algorithm, the high performance of the micro-column can be achieved through optimized control of the einzel lens.
