효과적인 움직임 예측을 위한 정수형 리프팅 기반의 저대역 이동법에 관한 연구 (A Study on Low-Band-Shift with Integer Lifting for Effective Motion Estimation)

  • 본 논문에서는 정수형 리프팅 기반의 저대역 이동법을 이용한 움직임 추정과 보상방식을 제안하였다. 저대역 이동법(Low-Band-Shift method)은 웨이브렛 계수들의 이동변환 성질을 극복하기 위해 제안된 방법으로 동영상 부호화 시 참조 프레임에 적용하면 정확한 움직임 추정이 가능하여 일반적인 방법보다 압축 대비 우수한 성능을 가지지만, 사용되는 메모리량과 계산량이 많아지는 단점을 가진다. 이를 개선하기 위해 본 논문에서는 웨이브렛에 비해 계산량을 1/2이상 줄일 수 있고 사용되는 메모리 량을 약 7배 이상 줄일 수 있는 정수형 리프팅을 제안하여 저대역 이동법에 적용해 움직임을 추정하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 리프팅 웨이브렛 변환을 이용한 디지털 영상의 워터마크 기술을 제안하였다. 이 워터마크 기술은 쉽게 비디오와 관련된 콘텐트에 대한 워터마크 기술로 확장 될 수 있다. 그래서 깊이 정보를 포함하는 다시점 영상을 효과적으로 압축할 수 있는 계층적 깊이 영상 구조라는 새로운 콘텐트에 제안 기술을 적용하였다. 이 방법은 기준 시점 영상에만 워터마크를 삽입하므로 그 과정이 간단하다는 장점을 가진다. 그리고 계층적 깊이 영상 구조의 특성상 나머지 시점 영상으로 워터마크가 전파되므로 모든 시점 영상에 대하여 저작권을 보호할 수 있다는 장점도 가지고 있다.

  • In this paper an experimental study on the development of the shielded metal are welding(SMAW) optimization technique for the dissimilar materials SS41 and STS304 of Auto-Lifting Magnet core plate was carried out. It was confirmed that the optimum welding heat input range was 37.5 to 45 kj/cm by considering on the strength and fatigue life of the welded joints more than 100% joint efficiency. And the quantitative relationship empirical wquation between the strength toughness adn fatigue life and the weld heat input was obtained.

Z-Clutching: Interaction Technique for Navigating 3D Virtual Environment Using a Generic Haptic Device

  • Navigating a large 3D virtual environment using a generic haptic device can be challenging since the haptic device is usually bounded by its own physical workspace. On the other hand, mouse interaction easily handles the situation with a clutching mechanism-simply lifting the mouse and repositioning its location in the physical space. Since the haptic device is used for both input and output at the same time, in many cases, its freedom needs to be limited in order to accommodate such a situation. In this paper, we propose a new mechanism called Z-Clutching for 3D navigation of a virtual environment by using only the haptic device without any interruption or sacrifice in the given degrees of freedom of the device's handle. We define the clutching state which is set by pulling the haptic handle back into space. It acts similarly to lifting the mouse off the desk. In this way, the user naturally feels the haptic feedback based on the depth (z-direction), while manipulating the haptic device and moving the view as desired. We conducted a user study to evaluate the proposed interaction technique, and the results are promising in terms of the usefulness of the proposed mechanism.

  • In this paper we introduce a design of parallel architecture for wavelet transformation on FPGA. We implement wavelet transforms though lifting scheme and apply Daubechies4 transform equations. This technique has an advantage that we can obtain perfect reconstruction of the data. We divide our process to high pass filter and low pass filter. With this division, we can find coefficients from low and high pass filters simultaneously using parallel processing properties of FPGA to reduce processing time. From the equations, we have to design real number computation module, referred to IEEE754 standard. We choose 32 bit computation that is fine enough to reconstruct data. After that we arrange the real number module according to Daubechies4 transform though lifting scheme.

  • The Wavelet Transform has been applied in mathematics and computer sciences. Numerous studies have proven its advantages in image processing and data compression, and have made it a basic encoding technique in data compression standards like JPEG2000 and MPEG-4. Software implementations of the Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) appears to be the performance bottleneck in real-time systems in terms of performance. And hardware implementations are not flexible. Therefore, FPGA implementations of the DWT has been a topic of recent research. The goal of this thesis is to investigate of FPGA implementations of the DWT Processor for image compression applications. The DWT processor design is based on the Lifting Based Wavelet Transform Scheme, which is a fast implementation of the DWT The design uses various techniques.   • This paper aims at deriving an equivalent finite dimensional discrete-time system for H$_{\infty}$ type problem for sampled-data control systems. A widely used ph is based on the lifting technique, but it needs somewhat complicate computation. Instead this paper derives an equivalent finite-dimensional discrete-time system directly from a description of the sampled-data system which is achieved via a closed-loop expression of the worst-case intersample disturbance.

  • 리프팅 기법을 사용하지 않고 최악의 경우에 대한 등가 이산화 절차를 통하여 샘플치 $H{\infty}$ 문제를 다루었다. 이산 문제 특성화를 유도하기 위해서 표준 선형 2차 이론의 결과를 이용하였다. 제안한 방법은 한 번의 행렬 지수함수 풀이만을 필요로 하므로 리프팅 기법에 비해 매우 간단하지만, 리프팅 기법을 사용하여 구한 샘플치 $H{\infty}$ 최적 제어기와의 성능차이가 거의 없었다. 또한, 제안한 방법을 도립진자 모델에 적용하였다

Advance Crane Lifting Safety through Real-time Crane Motion Monitoring and Visualization

  • Monitoring crane motion in real time is the first step to identifying and mitigating crane-related hazards on construction sites. However, no accurate and reliable crane motion capturing technique is available to serve this purpose. The objective of this research is to explore a method for real-time crane motion capturing and investigate an approach for assisting hazard detection. To achieve this goal, this research employed various techniques including: 1) a sensor-based method that accurately, reliably, and comprehensively captures crane motions in real-time; 2) computationally efficient algorithms for fusing and processing sensing data (e.g., distance, angle, acceleration) from different types of sensors; 3) an approach that integrates crane motion data with known as-is environment data to detect hazards associated with lifting tasks; and 4) a strategy that effectively presents crane operator with crane motion information and warn them with potential hazards. A prototype system was developed and tested on a real crane in a field environment. The results show that the system is able to continuously and accurately monitor crane motion in real-time.
