The purpose of this study is to analyze the effects of subjective class consciousness on life satisfaction. This research aimed to not only analyze the relative explanatory power, but also the influence of satisfaction of life within the socioeconomic status where the elderly consider themselves to be an integral part. The elderly's satisfaction in life was analyzed in comparison with demographic characteristics such as gender and age. The correlations of objective socioeconomic characteristics such as income level and education level were also observed. For this purpose, the Korea Labor Panel 17th data (2014) was used to conduct a one-way batch distribution analysis and a hierarchical regression analysis. It was seen that there was a correlation in the Korean elderly in terms of class consciousness and life satisfaction. The elderly with a lower subjective class consciousness showed lower life satisfaction. The relative influences were stronger than the demographic and socioeconomic characteristics of the elderly, and the explanatory power was much higher than the objective income levels. These results show that the subjective perception of their socioeconomic status has a significant influence on the level of life satisfaction of the Korean elderly, independent of the objective income level.
The primary purpose of this study was to employ an ecological model to analyze relative magnitudes of significant predictors affecting school life satisfaction in Korea Science Academy. The instruments used for this study were school life satisfaction Scale, Self-Efficacy Scale, Relationship Skill Scale, Internal Control Scale, Emotional Intelligence Scale, and FACE IV Scale. Data were collected by purposive sampling of 180 students of the Korea Science Academy in Busan, Korea. The data were analyzed by frequency, percentile, mean, standard deviation, Cronbach' ${\alpha}$, Pearson's productive correlation, hierarchical regression and stepwise regression, using SPSS 15.0+WIN program package. The results were as follows: 1. The level of school life satisfaction in Korea Science Academy was found to be high(Mean = 4.24, SD = 0.57). 2. Model IV was the most powerful. It explained 49.7% of the school life satisfaction. 3. Relationship with friends(${\beta}$ = .443), with teachers(${\beta}$ = .273), and self-efficacy(${\beta}$ = .201) were significant factors in explaining the school life satisfaction. The three variables explained 49.9% of school life satisfaction.

The data analysis methods included the chi-square test, ANOVA, and multiple regression analysis. The results were as follows. Second, it was found that old age preparations (physical, emotional, social, financial) and life satisfaction show meaningful relationships among the income levels. Third, old age preparation was found to have different meaningful impacts on life satisfaction among the income levels. This study examined the influence of children's self-concept, self-efficacy, self-resiliency and school adjustment on life satisfaction. Data were collected from 582 fifth and sixth graders in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do. The results of this study are as follows. First, self-concept, self-efficacy, and school adjustment were all confirmed as variables that had direct or indirect influence on life satisfaction. Of these, it was found that school adjustment and self-resiliency turned out to have a more direct influence on children's life satisfaction. Second, as for the greatness of direct influence on school adjustment, which mediates the ego-related variables and life satisfaction, self-efficacy, self-resilience, and self-concept proved to be greater in that order. Third, self-concept turned out to be the variable that had the greatest influence on school adjustment and life satisfaction when taking into consideration of both the direct and indirect influence. It was confirmed that it could be more effective to compose an intervention method for the promotion of life satisfaction case by case for short term goals.
This descriptive-correlational study was undertaken in order to examine if there were relationships between family support, compliance and life satisfaction in chronic arthritis patients. The sampling method was a non-probability, purposive sampling technique. The participants of this study were 92 volunteer adults. 1) who have been diagnosed as having chronic arthritis and 2) who were at the medical out patient clinic of one university hospital in Seoul between April 27th to May 12th 1987. The instruments used for this study were the Family Support Scale developed by Kang Hyun Sook, a Compilance Scale developed by the researcher and the Life-Satisfaction Index-Z developed by Wood et.al. Analysis of data was done using t-test, ANOVA, Pearson Correlation Coefficient and Stepwise Multiple Regression Analysis. The results of study were as follows; Hypothesis I; “The higher the family support, the higher the compliance” was accepted. (r=.2604, p<.01) Hypothesis II; “The higher the compliance, the higher the life satisfaction,” was rejected. (r=.1663, p>0.5) Hypothesis III; “The higher the family support, the higher the life satisfaction” was accepted. (r=.3914, p<.01) In addition, by using Stepwise Multiple Regression Analysis it was determined that the main influencing factors on the life satisfaction were family support, the number of inflammatory joints, compliance and pain level. These 4 main variables made it possible to explain 30.8% of the variance in life satisfaction. In conclusion, this study revealed that family support is an important factor that can improve compliance and life satisfaction in chronic arthritis patients.
The purpose of study is to examine the effects of family support on the life satisfaction of elderly with disabilities and provide a ground necessary to improve it. Research was conducted on 167 elderly with hearing, visual and physical disabilities aged over 60 who were living in Seoul and Pusan. Telephone survey, sign language and interview, in accordance with types of disability, were adopted to collect data effectively. That is telephone survey was used for elderly with visual impairment whereas face-to-face interview for physical impairment and sign language for hearing impairment by volunteers. Collected data were analyzed, using hierarchical regression analysis. This study utilized two different models, direct effect model and buffering effect of social support in order to examine the effects of familial support on the life satisfaction of elderly with disabilities. Research findings suggest that the level of life satisfaction appeared to be low in general among elderly with disabilities and emotional family support exerted a positive effect on life satisfaction. In addition, it is empirically supported that emotional family support buffered the negative effect of economic limitations on life satisfaction. In other words, the effects of economic limitations as stress factor decreased with the increase in the frequency of emotional support, however, the level of life satisfaction decreased at a mercy of the stress factor of economic limitations with the decrease in the frequency of emotional support. Finally, this paper attempted to provide some alternatives to effectively improve life satisfaction among elderly with disabilities based on empirical findings.
