The purpose of the research was to understand the subjective feelings of women about the question of what the menopause experience is. Q-Methodological method was used for that purpose. As the research method, Q-statements were collected preliminary to the study of through in -depth interviews and a literature review. For the study 34 Q-statements were selected. There were 21 women as subjects for the research. The 21 women sorted the 34 statements using the principle of Forced Normal Distribution. The principle of Forced Normal Distribution, which has nine scales to measure the individual opinions, was called Q-Factor Analysis by using PC Quanl Program to supply the material. As a result, there were four categories(self-com-passion type, self-regulation type, self-perception type, self-abandonment type) of special opinion about the menopause experience in these women. The first type was called Self-compassion This type' was associated with varying degrees of emotonal instability(psychological withdrawal). And type in menopause signifies loss of a socially valued status and may result in depressive symptoms. This type expresses the menopause experience as associated with negative reaction. The second type is called Self-regulation. This type overcomes the menopause experience more actively than the other types and do not express the menopause experience as one of suffering. This type make efforts by themselves to regulate the mono-pause experience. The third type is called Self-perception. This type perceives the experience of menopause which as typical menopausal syndrome (hot flashes and decreased vaginal lubrication, decreased estrogen producing atrophic changes of the labia and vaginal mucosa, making intercourse uncomfortable). The fourth type is called Self- abandonment. This type denies the experience of menopause. The meaning of menopausal experience is significantly related with a life accident or life load. Also, This type experiences pain in the musculoskeletal system. As a result, The meaning of the menopausal experience is affected by perceived subjective experience of the nurses, the need to understand each persons meaning of the menopause experience and to develop appropriate nursing interventions based on the typology of menopause experience. Finally. The result of the study will provide basic data for nursing intervention the menopausal women.

  • This study was conducted through a focus group interview of 4 teams of 40 nursing students to provide basic data for the development of customized cadaver practice programs and life and nursing ethics education by identifying the anatomical observation experiences of nursing students through cadaver. We tried to grasp the meaning and essence of the anatomical observation experience using the Colaizzi analysis method. As a result of the analysis, 3 categories, 6 theme clusters, and 12 themes were derived. The theme clusters for each category are as follows: Unrest (worry, confrontation), reflection (the boundary between life and death, teaching of the body teacher), growth (step forward, a valuable experience that will never be again). It was an opportunity for nursing students to realize the mystery of the human body and the preciousness of life through the experience of cadaver, and to consider the altruistic life through donation while recognizing that death is also a process of life in a broad sense.

  • The purpose of this study was to objectively quantify the effects of nutrition and dietary life education on preschoolers through meta-analysis. In addition, it provides basic data for the implementation of nutrition education and development of systematic nutrition and dietary life education programs. In this study, a meta-analysis of 27 papers was conducted that conformed to the selection criteria in the study conducted from January 2012 to August 2019 to derive objective data on the effects of education. As a result of the analysis, the overall effective size of nutrition and dietary life education for preschoolers was 0.829, which indicates a strong effect. According to the education method, the effect size of general education was 0.562, which indicates a medium effect size, the vegetable playing-based experience education was 0.685, which indicates a medium effect size, and cooking activity-based experience education was 1.101, which indicates a large effect size. Judging from this result, experience activity education was more effective than general nutrition education. In addition, the combined size of convergence education conducted through a combination of general and experience education was found to be the most effective at 1.301. In terms of educational effect, it was confirmed that the effect size was 0.898 for improving nutrition knowledge, 0.858 for improving dietary habits, 0.836 for improving unbalanced diet, and 0.756 for improving food preference and intake, and the sizes of effects were all found to be large. As frequency of education increased, the number of education participants decreased and the effect of education increased.

  • PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to investigate the quality of life related to fall experiences in chronic stroke patients. METHODS: This cross-sectional study included 117 patients with stroke from 3 hospitals in D metropolitan city. General characteristics, including fall experiences and quality of life, were assessed through a face-to-face interviews conducted in a quiet place using a questionnaire. Measurement of quality of life in stroke patients was conducted using the Korean Stroke Specific Quality of Life Scale (SS-QOL). To identify the SS-QOL items related to fall experiences, the items of the SS-QOL were considered as independent variables, and the variables that were significantly different according to fall experiences were identified using a univariate analysis. A binary logistic regression was then performed using fall experiences as the independent variable. RESULTS: According to the univariate analysis, self help activities, social role, and upper extremity function were significantly lower in the fall group than that in the non-fall group (p<.05). The findings of the binary logistic regression confirmed that social roles and upper extremity function were the SS-QOL items that were related to fall experience in chronic stroke patients. CONCLUSION: These findings suggest that social roles and upper extremity function may be risk factors for fall experience in patients with chronic stroke.

  • The purpose of this study was to assess pro-environmental behavior of elementary school students by school year and gender and to investigate the relationships of their emotional affinity toward and intellectual curiosity about life, and experiences about nature and life with the pro-environmental behavior. A total of 436 elementary students participated in the study: 189 3rd grade; 247 6th grade students, and 233 boys; 203 girls. The variables were measured by using a self-report questionnaire with 5-point Likert scale items. The results showed the levels of pro-environmental behavior of the 3rd grade students and the girls were higher than that of the 6th grade and the boys, respectively. Their pro-environmental behavior was significantly related with all measured variables. However, it was found that the direct predictors of their pro-environmental behavior were the intellectual curiosity and the indirect experience, while the emotional affinity and the direct experience did not have a direct impact on the behavior. The predictive power of the intellectual curiosity and the indirect experience for their pro-environmental behavior was higher in 3rd grade than 6th grade. While the indirect experience was a stronger predictor of the boys' pro-environmental behavior than the intellectual curiosity, the curiosity was a stronger predictor of the girls.
