The objectives of this study were 1) to evaluate the first year of localization of agricultural extension in Korea, 2) to present the development directions and implications of agricultural extension service in the next year of localization. The major results and implications were as follows. 1. The positive changes in localization were to establish local special projects and to work in agricultural extension without personnel changes. 2. The negative changes in localization were increase of unnecessary work load and decrease of morale because of lowered status. 3. The development directions were to cut back unnecessary work load, to rearrange an office, and to return to the national status of extension personnels.

Jang Gyung Ak thought the Yang Gi was the basis of life. This is why he said doctors should emphasize on preserving Yang Gi. Before his emphasis on Yang Gi he had to study and criticize the medical concept of HaGan, DanGye and DongWon. By criticizing and overcoming their medical concept's fallacy and limitations, he made his own medicine. JangGyungAk found the importance of YangGi in the theory of changes. In the "the Book of Changes" it is said the rising movement of YangGi is expressed by recipricals and propels heaven and earth, yin and yang to change. The phenomenon of life is also a reciprocal and is lead by YangGi, and so medicine should value Yang Gi. Because the phenomenon of life is lead by this Yang Gi, it is right to base changes of diseases and organize pattern identification. The pattern identification JangGyungAk presented as two Gang six Byun sets its base on YangGi.

The number of grandparents who have responsibility for raising their grandchildren is growing. The present study examines the extent of this phenomenon and some of the issues these grandparents face in surrogate parenting. The sample consists of 69 grandparents(63 grandmothers and 6 grandfathers) of grandchildren who have lived with them at least 6 months without their parents. The grandparents raising grandchildren reported that caregiving bought negative changes in relations with their own children, economic situation and health condition. They concerned most about the issue of good mannered behavior of grandchildren and making good friends and needed social supports in terms of house cleaning and cooking and transportation for after school activities. Caregiver burden was related to the number of family members, the degrees of life changes, economic hardship due to caregiving, grandchildren's school performance and the relations with granparents' own children.

The characteristics of the tool system give many effects into the costs and qualities for the finished components. Therefore, a tool life is one of the important issues on cold forging industry. However, since variables related with tool life are many complicated, the studies for solution should be investigated by the systematic research approach. The shape and process changes of die, the hardness changes of material and the tolerance of dies to decrease the die stress are analyzed by the FEM software. The heat-treatment of tool material is investigated to improve the tool life. Deep cryogenic treatment of tool steel is very efficient to improve the wear resistance due to the fine carbide. And, it is investigated that the shape and dimension of tool give effect into both tool life and quality of forged product..

The purpose of this study is invested, recorded about traditional dwelling space, and there is to find out possibilites on the context of the inheritance of traditional life through analzing about life content and space. The results of this study are as follows: 1) Kwang Duk vililage is the typical traditional town where the confucian view of life still affects on overall housing life. 2) The pattern of layout is mainly 'ㅡ' and 'ㄱ' shaped type. In the plane and structural form, the original form is, though some parts have changed, maintained. 3) According to the analysis of transformation state of dwelling space, the category of transformation is summerized as follow ; changes of room function, increase and decrease of annex, and room size by changes of family structure, life style, farming operation style.

Fresh pasta was packaged in a modified atmosphere of 22% $CO_2$/78% $N_2$ and compared with a control air package for its quality changes during storage at 8$^{\circ}C$. The modified atmosphere packaging suppressed the microbial growth of total aerobic bacteria and yeasts/molds with a concomitant reduction in the rates of physical and chemical quality changes, and thus successfully extended the shelf life of fresh packs from 20 days of air packs to 40 days based on microbial criterion of 10$^{6}$ cfu/g. The shelf life extension was greater when the initial microbial quality of the product was better.

Through psychological evaluation, this study attempted to verify the effect of quality of life improvements from gardening activities in apartment landscaping spaces. The study was conducted on 32 mothers raising children. Psychological valuation was conducted using world Health Organization Quality of Life questionnaire(WHOQOL-Bref), the Satisfaction with Life Scale(SWLS), the Life Satisfaction Experience Scale(LSES), and the Symptom Checklist-90-Revised(SCL-90-R). The psychological analysis results showed that, engaging in gardening activities for two weeks had, a positive effect on mothers' environmental of quality of life evaluation. The LSES indicates that satisfaction with oneself significantly increased after starting the gardening activities. The activity resulted in a positive change in attitude toward life. The SCL-90-R results showed changes in the mother's psychological state. There was a significant amelioration of obesessive-compulsive behaviors, hostility, and phobic anxiety. In conclusion, this study was found that, for mothers in apartments, outdoor gardening activities can significantly affect their quality of life. Moreover, it can help prevent mental health deterioration, Further study should be conducted on the beneficial effects of gardening on the variety of age groups and activities.

본 연구는 노인의 인터넷활용이 생활변화, 고독감, 자존감 요인과 삶의 질에 어떠한 영향을 미치는가를 규명하고자 하였다. 본 연구결과 노인들의 고독감이 인터넷 활용과 일련의 관계성을 가지고 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 즉 연구 초기 기초모형에서는 기존 연구와 마찬가지로 인터넷의 활용이 노인들의 고독감을 완화시킬 것이라는 가설을 제시하였지만, 최종분석의 결과 오히려 노인들의 고독감이 노인들로 하여금 인터넷을 활용하게 하는 동기로 작용할 수 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한, 노인들은 자존감이 높을수록 삶의 질에 높은 만족도를 보여주는 것으로 분석되었으며, 인터넷의 활용이 자존감 향상에 큰 영향을 미치고 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 최종모형의 추정결과 인터넷 활용에 기인한 생활변화 요인이 자존감 향상에 미치는 영향강도가 여타 변인들보다 매우 강하다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 따라서 노인들의 삶의 질 향상을 위해서는 노인의 자존감을 높여야 하며, 이러한 자존감 향상을 위해 인터넷 매체를 활용케 하는 것이 큰 효과를 가져 올 수 있을 것이다.

Changes in chemical composition of the ethanolic extract of roasted Asparagi Tuber were investigated by HPLC. One dramatically increased peak $(t_R\;14.85 min)$ was isolated by silica gel column chromatograph and identified as 5-hydroxymethyl furfural (HMF) by comparing its $1^H-NMR$ data with that of a commercial standard. HMF content reached its maximum level at $190^{\circ}C$ for 60 minutes. Under these conditions, HMF contents in the roasted Asparagi Tuber was increased about thirteen times (9.26mg/g) over the not-roasted control (0.71 mg/g). No significant differences were found in macrophage-activating, prolyl endopeptidase-inhibiting, antioxidative (DPPH), anti-coagulating (activated partial thromboplastin times), and ACE-inhibiting activities between roasted and not-roasted Asparagi Tuber.
