Among many open libraries under the rule of the Japanese imperialism, only the railroad library as the character of special library under the control of the Japanese Government General is remarkable for having opened its facilities to outsiders as well as the interior users. This study tries a) To look into what were the colonial background, aim and motive of the establishment of the railroad library under the Japanese rule, b) To analyze its activities and the change of its organization, c) And to find out its vestiges an the effects which it has on our country's library circles. The following are the result: A. The railroad library under the rule of the Japanese imperialism functioned as a public library by the outside book's circulation rather than the interior using. B. The outsiders were qualified to use it only when they got the joint guarantee for the city resident, which means that the o n.0, pportunity of the circulation was not free for the Koreans rather than the Japanese. C. From the aspect of collections, technical books such as natural science, and reference ones tended to be collected, and their whole composition was focused on the materials for the Japan-Korea identification scheme and development of the national spirit as the Japanese empire's subjects. D. In the respect of its organization, all the clerical employees, as well as the chief librarian were composed of the Japanese. Although the Koreans were in principle prohibited from working there, a few of them were employed as guard or servant as the China-Japan War was close to the end. E. The area of the outside book's, circulation service was expanded throughout the whole region along the railroad connecting Pusan with Manchuria. Such a service activity which contained several meanings, was tried by means of culture's books, circuit's books, train's books, hotel's books, mind's development books and reader's reading books etc. F. Such matters as the limitation on book circulating and the quantity of circulation book, the paid circulation and the partial restriction on free circulation mean the wartime system under the rule of the Japanese imperialism and also a n.0, ppeared as a factor of hampering the Koreans from getting accustomed to using library, which has affected them until now. G. The noticeable thing in the service activity is shown in attempting the diversified and positive way of service like free circulation in order to solidify the attitude of the Koreans toward war by organizing mind's development books as well as culture's books with the China-Japan War. H. On the other hand, it can not be passed over that the diversified service activity of the railroad library played a role of bridge in turning of today's library circles of ours to the modernization.

The purpose of this paper is to analyze the case of 'drive-thru' services newly introduced and tried in libraries in Korea under the influence of COVID-19, and to develop and propose a service model so that this service can be continuously applied to all libraries in the future. Therefore, the method of study was selected and analyzed by selecting one of the representative libraries that provide related services in Seoul Special City, Incheon Metropolitan City, and Anyang City of Gyeonggi Province. In addition, a focus group interview was conducted with twelve people in charge to find a way to apply the drive-thru service to the library. As a result, the library's drive-thru service is a way to fulfill the library's original purpose of providing information materials while minimizing faceto-face contact with users. It was concluded that it is a suitable method for a library of complex buildings, where there is a lack of parking space. In addition, it was deduced that it may be one of the ways to use the library efficiently for office workers who are unable to use library services during the opening hours. Therefore, if the drive-thru service is implemented according to the developed model, it is expected to increase the library visit rate and data utilization rate.

국가정보유통기관의 궁극적인 목적은 빠르게 변화하는 정보환경 속에서 이용자에게 효과적인 서비스를 제공하는 것이다. 이 연구는 국가 정보유통기관의 효율적인 정보서비스 방안을 제안하기 위한 것이다. 연구에서는 검토대상으로 선정한 RISS의 현황을 살펴보고 해외선진사례를 비교 분석하였다. 이러한 분석을 토대로 국가 정보유통기관의 정보서비스 발전 추이를 검토하고 RISS의 발전방안을 제안하였다. 연구 결과는 국가 정보유통 기관의 신규 정보서비스 계획 수립에 활용할 수 있을 것이다.

This is a survey of the circulation system for students in college & university libraries in Korea. The survey used a questionnaire with 14 questions on 6 items concerning the various aspects of the circulation system in 82 libraries responded among 85 college & university libraries as of 1981. The survey results discovered many problems needing improvement. The following list describes the measures needed to better the problems found in the survey results of 82 libraries. 1. 67.1% of the libraries shows the restricted volumes loaning less than 2 volumes, and 81.7% of the libraries shows the loan periods less than a week, but it is desirable to extend them, when comparing with the size of holdings and the higher educational system at present. 2. It is desirable that the number of a staff in charge of circulation works places one person per average 75-85 books borrowed a day, when calculating an adequate number of the staff on the basis of the correlation between books borrowed a day and number of the staff. 3. 59.8% of the libraries does not have reserved book system, but it is desirable to take it for increasing reliability about the circulation services. 4. More than half of the libraries takes a method of a public announcement on a notice-board for claims of overdue books, but it is desirable to send a claim notice to the individual in viewpoint of keeping their privacies. 5. More than half of the libraries to take the open access system uses a call slip, but it is desirable not to use it in viewpoint of simplicity and economical efficiency of the charging system, because of demanding the unnecessary records. 6. Most of libraries shows many problems of the charging system, especially in factors of the records and filing system, but it is desirable to improve it on the basis of 4 basic factors of the charging system, that is, simplicity, economical efficiency, promptitude and accuracy.

This study analyzes circulation statistics of television tie-in picture books from the Wake County Public Library System in North Carolina to determine their popularity among patrons. Caldecott winning picture books were used as a point of comparison. This study also examined OPAC holdings from North Carolina public libraries to determine television tie-in picture book popularity among collection builders. The findings of the study show that television tie-in picture books are found to some degree in the vast majority of North Carolina public libraries, and are more popular than award winners in the Wake County system.

The components, configurations and analysis on cost - effectiveness for a library network are studied. In discussing the effectiveness of network, it was divided into 1) the effectiveness of on-line system, 2) the economy in the cost of information processing and management, 3) the effectiveness caused by the increase of information users and 4) the effectiveness by circulation of library holdings.

이 논문의 연구목적은 공공도서관의 한정된 자원에서 늘어나는 수요를 수용하기 위하여 도서관의 운영방안을 개선하여 효율성을 제고하는 것이다. 이는 도서관을 직접이용할 수 없는 이용자들에게 유사분관도서관인 순회문고제도를 운영함으로써 공공도서관의 효율성 제고와 아울러 소외계층에 대한 적극적인 서비스를 할 수가 있다. 서울 소재 19개 공공도서관의 순회문고 담당자와 이용자들에게 각각 설문조사, 전화조사와 직접방문조사를 통하여 수집한 자료를 분석, 정리한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째. 공공도서관이 봉사대상기관에 대한 순회문고 대출기간은 ‘1개월’이 가장 적절한 것으로 나타났다. 둘째. 공공도서관이 순회문고의 1회 대출시의 대출권수는 ‘100권 이상~200권 미만’이 가장 높게 나타났다. 셋째, 순회문고 희망도서신청제도는 공공도서관의 순회문고 장서구성에 많은 도움이 되어 순회문고활성화에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째. 순회문고 장서구성은 소설류, 교양도서, 수필집 등이 높게 나타났으나. 순회문고 이용자는 소설류, 교양도서 뿐만 아니라 전문도서. 잡지류의 자료구성을 높일 것을 희망하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 다섯째. 순회문고의 비치장소는 순회문고 이용의 활성화를 위하여 전문적인 자료봉사부서인 도서실에서 전담하는 것이 효율적인 것으로 나타났다. 여섯째, 공공도서관에서 순회문과 대출지역을 관할구역내로 한정로 것이 순회문고의 효율성을 높일 수 있다. 일곱째. 분실자료에 대한 자연감소처리에 대한 적절한 기준을 마련하는 것이 순회문고 활성화에 영향이 있는 것을 알 수 있다. 여덟째. 순회문고제도의 저해요인으로는 공공도서관의 인력부족, 도서분실, 이용자의 소극적 태도 순으로 나타났다. 아흡째. 순회무고제도의 활성화 요인으로써 최고관리자의 적극성과 전문성, 예산배정의 적정성, 기탁금제도의 활성화등이 주요한 요인으로 작용하고 있음을 알 수 있다. 열번째, 자료분실에 대한 자연감소율은 대출도서의 0.5-0.6%를 도서관규정에 정하여 처리할 수 있게 함으로써 순회문고 제도를 시행하는 양당사자들의 적극적 참여를 유도하여 순회문고를 활성화하여야 한다.

Recently, a great deal of corporations have adopted knowledge management system with eagerness to enhance the company competitiveness. However, since the main feature of knowledge management system is not just a simple information system but another entity creating intangible assets tailed "knowledge", we need to develop a new approach to investigating the performance and acceptance of knowledge management systems from a perspective allowing knowledge-sensitive constructs. In this regard, we develop new constructs like knowledge schema and several knowledge circulation-related activities. As a research model, we adopt a famous technology acceptance model or TAM by Davis (1989), and extend it into incorporating knowledge schema. With the statistically valid and usable questionnaire survey data collected from 886 respondents in a big corporation typically using knowledge management system, we induced a robust result empirically, saying that knowledge schema and knowledge circulation activities are valid determinants of performance and acceptance of knowledge management systems.

대학 도서관의 대출 업무에 관한 시스템 연구를 수행함에 있어 구조적 분석 기법을 이용하여 현행 대출 업무를 분석하고 새로운 대출 시스템을 설계하였다. 기존 대출 업무 분 석에서는 구조적 개발 도구인 자료 흐름도와 자료 사전, 실체 관계도들을 기용하여 데이터 분석을 시도하였으며 시스템 설계에서는 분석한 데이터 구조를 데이터 표준화 작업을 통해 새 시스템의 논리적, 물리적 데이터 모델을 제시하였다.

산업기술정보원은 국가산업기술정보유통시스템 개발사업의 일환으로 클라이언트/서버기반 통합형 자료관리시스템을 개발하였다. 본고는 산업기술정보원 자료관리시스템의 연혁에 대해 살펴보고 신규 개발된 시스템의 특징을 소개하고 있다. 그리고 자료관리시스템을 구성하는 각 하부시스템의 기능과 특징에 대해 개략적으로 살피고 있다.
