After the establishment of the Korean Government in 1945, we were busy building up library collections, especially expanding the quantity of books. As a result, nowadays we witness the problem of limited space to keep the books. Space is one of the most important factors in the environment of library materials preservation. To solve this problem, we have to establish many levels of deposit library. The deposit library functions to preserve library materials. Preservation is defined as 'preservation', 'conservation' and 'restoration'. Deposit library was not for circulation that established in the Korea Dynasty, was succeeded by the branch libraries for Historical Deposit Libraries and branch library of Kanghwa magistracy of Kyujang-gak in the Chosun Dynasty. This study is to analyze the establishment, the activities and functions of the branch library of Kyujang-gak at Kanghwa Magistracy as a deposit library. Hence this study provides valuable information for future research of the history of deposit libraries in Korea.

The most good library's service will be accomplished for the system of user centralized and we can't expect the development of school library without student's use. This research has been designed for an attempt to know why students don't use the school library. The methods employed to achieve the purpose of this study are (1) To establish some tentative factors affecting the school library's use or nonuse (2) to get necessary data, a questionnaire was made according to the tentative factors. A questionnaire was sent to teacher and students in the 4 sample high schools in Seoul. The followings are the am lysed results. (1) School library's collection are poor. (2) The school library's equipment and position are bad. (3) The guide or use instruction of school library are not carried out. (4) Teacher librarian can not reach the demand of the society and the atmosphere of library are not good. (5) The books are not lent to students and the circulation procedure are complicated. (6) Our country's educational programme does not organize to promote using the school library. (7) Teachers' knowledge for using the library are poor. (8) Entrance examination of the university disturbed to use the school library. (9) The school administration are not enough to understand about the school library.

This study is to seek a development plan in the borrowed book and current condition of operation of J-do provincial library. Based on library use card issuer 30,072 people and the number of lending books 705,447(2012 to 2013) of J-do provincial library, it was to analyzed elemental and comparative research for library development plan and user satisfaction. Method of analysis used SPSS statistics 21. This confirmed provincial library user's library user behavior and usage pattern of data. Based on the results of analytics, it indicated a development plan of J-do provincial library.

Upon the growing popularity of knowledge information and paid digital content, the Internet knowledge exchange market had emerged. A Internet knowledge exchange market consists of general characteristics of a market where a wide variety of knowledge is exchanged at market-appropriate prices, the Internet knowledge exchange market is recently gaining momentum with specialized knowledge items such as design, program source, patent information, consulting service, multimedia, or resumes, as it seeks to secure competitive advantage over its peer markets. Considering the immense influence that these Internet markets will exert on the existing system of knowledge circulation including libraries and information centers, this study aims to contribute to a better understanding of Korea's knowledge circulation structure by analyzing the current standing of the Internet knowledge exchange market.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the current status of services and programs of bookmobiles in Korea. To do this, a questionnaire containing 22 questions on basic information, scheduling and stops of bookmobiles, services and programs of bookmobiles, promotions and needs assessment and improvement requirements was developed on the basis of 7 foreign standards and guidelines related to bookmobile services. 74 questionnaires from bookmobiles belonging to public libraries and Saemaul bookmobiles were analysed. As a result, many parts of the results including operation days per week, stops per day, operation hours per stop, visiting cycle, circulation per day, circulation period and circulation volume and promotion conformed to foreign standards and guidelines but the others did not conformed to them. Also, there were more group differences in services and programs between bookmobiles belonging to public libraries and Saemaul bookmobiles than between bookmobiles in metropolitan cities and provinces in Korea.

Library takes its way to digitalization to fill its role in modern information society. This study discusses social environment of this trend and investigates library circumstances, and refines the meaning of a library. A digital library is led by current stream of new media, rapid development of digital technology and recording methods, and revolution of information circulation and production such as electronic publishing. However, rich information sources in printed forms are even significant as a ground of a digital library. The digital library is not a brand-new feature of a library but the result of digitalization of information resources to accomplish the purpose of the library.

The purpose of this study is to suggest the usability of collection evaluation methods for collection development policy in public libraries. To achieve this purpose, this study applied Bonn's Use Factor, Turnover Rate of Collection, and Trueswell's 80/20 Rule to actual circulation data of the Gwangjin District Public Library in Seoul during last ten years. This study added practical meanings and values in collection evaluation through the analysis of total holdings and subject classes. Main items of analysis are the rate of use to total holdings and to holdings in specific subject classes by year, and the rate of core collection circulation by year. The results show relations between the rate of use and library's performance through the analysis of the rate of use both total holdings and subject classes. The results also figure out user's patterns and library appraisal of community users through the analysis of circulation data. In addition, the analysis of core collection gives a good basis for an effective collection development policy.

The purpose of this study is to suggest the site selection of U-library in Daejeon. For this study, through literature research and analysis of the current status of U-library in Korea, evaluation indicators for the site selection are derived, and based on this, the location of the public library, the radius of the proposed location, the transport performance by subway station, government offices, transportation facilities, convenience facilities, the current status of major facilities and the number of residents by region were analyzed and applied. Finally, based on the analysis results, a total of 16 U-library locations were proposed in the five autonomous districts in Daejeon: 2 in Daedeok-gu, 2 in Dong-gu, 4 in Seo-gu, 6 in Yuseong-gu, and 2 in Jung-gu.

KINITI developed integrated client/server-based library automation system. This system is a part of project which is implementation of national industry & technology information distribution system. This work investigated the social, cultural, and economical impacts of the services that S Children's Library provides to local community and its residents. In this study I analyzed the user statistics by using Korean Library Automation System III, practiced a comparative analysis with other libraries over circulation efficiency, and reviewed the user's evaluation through user survey. The achievement of this study is to find out the value of S Children's Library by verifying the service status of S Children's Library based on the analyzed data, assessing the role and meaning of the children's library within the community, and measuring the economical contribution through user evaluation.
