  • The purpose of this paper is to study pseudo-Riemannian algebras, which are algebras with pseudo-Riemannian non-degenerate symmetric bilinear forms. We nd that pseudo-Riemannian algebras whose left centers are isotropic play a curial role and show that the decomposition of pseudo-Riemannian algebras whose left centers are isotropic into indecomposable non-degenerate ideals is unique up to a special automorphism. Furthermore, if the left center equals the center, the orthogonal decomposition of any pseudo-Riemannian algebra into indecomposable non-degenerate ideals is unique up to an isometry.

  • Let G be a compact connected semisimple Lie group, B the Killing form of the algebra g of G, and g the invariant metric induced by B. Then, we obtain a necessary and sufficient condition for a left invariant linear connection D with a Weyl structure ($D,\;g,\;{\omega}$) on (G, g) to be projectively flat (resp. Einstein-Weyl). And, we also get that if a left invariant linear connection D with a Weyl structure ($D,\;g,\;{\omega}$) on (G, g) which has symmetric Ricci tensor $Ric^D$ is projectively flat, then the connection D is Einstein-Weyl; but the converse is not true. Moreover, we show that if a left invariant connection D with Weyl structure ($D,\;g,\;{\omega}$) on (G, g) is projectively flat (resp. Einstein-Weyl), then D is a Yang-Mills connection.

  • We study the structure of right regular commutators, and call a ring R strongly C-regular if ab - ba ∈ (ab - ba)2R for any a, b ∈ R. We first prove that a noncommutative strongly C-regular domain is a division algebra generated by all commutators; and that a ring (possibly without identity) is strongly C-regular if and only if it is Abelian C-regular (from which we infer that strong C-regularity is left-right symmetric). It is proved that for a strongly C-regular ring R, (i) if R/W(R) is commutative, then R is commutative; and (ii) every prime factor ring of R is either a commutative domain or a noncommutative division ring, where W(R) is the Wedderburn radical of R.
