  • A hybrid technique that combines the advantages of binaural reproduction and sound field reproduction technique is proposed. The concept of HRTF-field, which is defined as the set of HRTFs corresponding to the various head dislocations, enables us to realize virtual source imaging over a wide area. Conventional $2{\times}2$ definition is redefined as a MIMO system composed of multiple control sources and multiple head locations, and HRTF variations corresponding to various head movement are quantified. Through the direct control of HRTF-field, reproduction error induced by head dislocation can be minimized in least-square-error sense, and consequential disturbances on the virtual source image can be reduced within a selected area. Simple lateralization examples are investigated, and the reproduction error of the proposed technique is compared to that of Higher-order Ambisonics.

  • A conceptual study about the angle information based orbit determination technique for a geostationary satellite was performed. With an assumption that the simultaneous observing of the earth and nearby stars is possible, we confirmed that the view angles between the earth and stars can be use as inputs for orbit determination process. By the MA TLAB simulation with least square method, the convergence is confirmed. This conceptual study was performed with the COMS for instance. This technique will be able to use as a back-up of ground station's orbit determination or a part of autonomous satellite operation.

  • When markers attached to body segment are captured by camera, they generally have many noises due to intrinsic biomechanical characteristics. In this study, one technique to reduce these noises is suggested, which constructs a local coordinates of the markers using time-mean lengths of the measured markers and calculates a linear transformation matrix of the interesting body using least square error technique. This matrix is decomposed into two matrices of rotation and flexibility. Suggested method does well for 3 markers or more, and shows consistent results without regard to choice of reference axis.

  • This paper presents two algorithms based on the concept of the frequency domain adaptive filter(FDAF). First the frequency domain recursive least squares(FRLS) algorithm with the overlap-save filtering technique is introduced. This minimizes the sum of exponentially weighted square errors in the frequency domain. To eliminate discrepancies between the linear convolution and the circular convolution, the overlap-save method is utilized. Second, the sliding method of data blocks is studied Co overcome processing delays and complexity roads of the FRLS algorithm. The size of the extended data block is twice as long as the filter tap length. It is possible to slide the data block variously by the adjustable hopping index. By selecting the hopping index appropriately, we can take a trade-off between the convergence rate and the computational complexity. When the input signal is highly correlated and the length of the target FIR filter is huge, the FRLS algorithm based on the block processing technique has good performances in the convergence rate and the computational complexity.

  • Image interpolation is a technique that pervades many an application. Interpolation is almost never the goal in itself, yet it affects both the desired results and the ways to obtain them. In this paper, we proposed a technique that is capable to find out the error when the common two methods (bilinear and nearest neighbor interpolation) are applied on an image for rotation. The proposed technique also includes the comparison results of bilinear interpolation and nearest neighbor interpolation. Among them nearest neighbor interpolation gives us a better result regarding to the enhancement and due to least error. The error is found by using Mean Square Error (MSE).

  • This paper proposes lane recognition algorithm using lane prominence technique to extract lane candidate. The lane prominence technique is combined with embossing effect, lane thickness check, and lane extraction using mask. The proposed lane recognition algorithm consists of preprocessing, lane candidate extraction and lane recognition. First, preprocessing is executed, which includes gray image acquisition, inverse perspective transform and gaussian blur. Second, lane candidate is extracted by using lane prominence technique. Finally, lane is recognized by using hough transform and least square method. To evaluate the proposed lane recognition algorithm, this algorithm was applied to the detection of lanes in the rainy and night day. The experiment results showed that the proposed algorithm can recognize lane in various environment. It means that the algorithm can be applied to lane recognition to drive unmanned vehicles.

  • An accurate State Of Charge (SOC) estimation of battery is the most important technique for Electric Vehicles (EVs) and Energy Storage Systems (ESSs). In this paper a new integrated Unscented Kalman Filter-Particle Filter (UKF-PF) is employed to estimate the SOC of a $LiFePO_4$ battery cell and a significant improvement is obtained as compared to the other methods. The parameters of the battery is modeled by the second order Auto Regressive eXogenous (ARX) model and estimated by using Recursive Least Square (RLS) method to calculate value of each element in the model. The proposed algorithm is established by combining a parameter identification technique using RLS method with ARX model and an SOC estimation technique using UKF-PF.

  • A technique for alignment to true north is presented based on synchronized measurements of vision image by a camera and output voltage of wind direction sensor. The true wind direction is evaluated by means of image processing techniques with least square sense, and then evaluated true value is compared with measured output voltage of the sensor. The uncertainty analysis about the component error for the proposed method in practical situation is performed. The proposed technique is applied to real meteorological tower (wind measuring tower) at the Daekwanryung test site. In addition, some uncertainty analysis of this method is presented.

  • The purpose of this study was to determine the influence of weight with gentamicin assay error on the Bayesian and nonlinear least squares regression analysis in 12 Korean appen dicitis patients. Gentamicin was administered intravenously over 0.5 h every 8 h. Three specimens were collected at 48 h after the first dose from all patients at the following times, just before regularly scheduled infusion, at 0.5 h and 2 h after the end of 0.5 h infusion. Serum gentamicin levels were analyzed by fluorescence polarization immunoassay technique with TDxFLx. The standard deviation (SD) of the assay over its working range had been determined at the serum gentamicin concentrations of 0, 2, 4, 8, 12, and 16 ${\mu}g$/mL in quadruplicate. The polynominal equation of gentamicin assay error was found to be SD (${\mu}g$/mL) = 0.0246-(0.0495C)+ (0.00203C$^2$). There were differences in the influence of weight with gentamicin assay error on pharmacokinetic parameters of gentamicin using the nonlinear least squares regression analysis but there were no differences on the Bayesian analysis. This polynominal equation can be used to improve the precision of fitting of pharmacokinetic models to optimize the process of model simulation both for population and for individualized pharmacokinetic models. The result would be improved dosage regimens and better, safer care of patients receiving gentamicin.
