Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop a module for infants in pediatric nursing based on problem-based learning (PBL) and to analyze its effect. Methods: The data used in the study was collected from 79 junior nursing students. For the analysis of the module effect, one group post-test design was applied for measurement of academic achievement. Results: The module for infants is comprised of a 4-hour PBL module. The academic achievement tests are composed of formative (tutor evaluation, self-evaluation) and summative evaluations. The self-evaluation revealed the strong need for PBL and the importance of PBL in the problem solving process and integrative thinking. The mean score of the subjects' learning satisfaction, problem solving process and concept map assessments were all above 50 percent. There was no significant difference in the mean score between the infant PBL and other teaching methods. Conclusion: The PBL proved to be a useful learning method to promote the critical and integrative thinking process.
Recently, Depending on expectancy effect and ripple effect of augmented reality, the convergence between augmented reality and culture & arts are being actively conducted. This paper proposes a learning method for effective object tracking in 3D storytelling augmented reality in cultural properties. The proposed system is based on marker-less tracking, and there are four modules that are recognition, tracking, detecting and learning module. Recognition module is composed of SURF and LSH, and then this module generates standard object information. Tracking module tracks an object using object tracking based on reliability. This information is stored in Learning module along with learned time information. Detecting module finds out the object based on having the best possible knowledge available among the learned objects information, when the system fails to track. Also, it proposes a method for robustly implementing a 3D storytelling augmented reality in cultural properties in the future.

There are two important things for the general purpose neural network processor. The first is a capability to build various structures of neural network, and the second is to be able to support suitable learning method for that neural network. Some way to process various learning algorithms is required for on-chip learning, because the more neural network types are to be handled, the more learning methods need to be built into. In this paper, an improved hardware structure is proposed to compute various kinds of learning algorithms flexibly. The hardware structure is based on the existing modular neural network structure. It doesn't need to add a new circuit or a new program for the learning process. It is shown that rearrangements of the existing processing elements can produce several neural network learning modules. The performance and utilization of this module are analyzed by comparing with other neural network chips.
The purpose of this study is to find out the effects of learning that has applied instruction module utilizing ICT in project-based learning in elementary science classroom on improvement of the self-directed learning skills and the problem-solving skills. For this purpose, the project based learning instruction module utilizing ICT based was developed and conducted to 2 class consisting of 66 elementary students in the 6th grade to clarify the effects. As a result of the study, first, the instruction module utilizing ICT in project-based learning was effective in improving self-directed learning skills of students. As the subordinate effects of self-directed learning skills it showed improved effects in diagnosing desire to learn, setting goals, basic self-managing ability, selecting learning strategy, durability of practicing learning, making effort for result, and self-examination but it did not show improved effects in figuring out recognition of resources for Learning. Second, it was effective in improving the problem-solving skills of students. As the subordinate effects of problem-solving skills it showed improved effects in problem recognition, information gathering, analysis, thinking prior to dissemination, planning skill, and evaluation but it did not show effect on decision making, implementation & risk-taking and feedback.
We attempted to develop a problem-based learning (PBL) module for integrated education in dental hygiene with the aim of helping students gain clinical competencies necessary for dental hygienist work. To develop the PBL Module for Clinical Dentistry in Dental Hygiene course, the researchers identified literature related to not only educational technology, but also medical science, nursing, dentistry, and dental hygiene. During the design phase of the PBL module, problem scenarios and a plan for the teaching and learning process were developed. Developing problem scenarios involved describing a problematic situation and three questions related with that situation. To cultivate competencies required in dental clinics, each question was related to the diagnosis of a dental disease, dental treatment, and dental hygiene procedures for care. Teaching-learning process plan included the designs of operating environment, operational strategies, learning resources, facilitation of problem-solving process, and evaluation. It is necessary to evaluate the PBL module for integrated education in dental hygiene to confirm its effectiveness.
This paper proposes an object tracking system according to reliability assessment of learning in mobile environments. The proposed system is based on markerless tracking, and there are four modules which are recognition, tracking, detecting and learning module. Recognition module detects and identifies an object to be matched on current frame correspond to the database using LSH through SURF, and then this module generates a standard object information that has the best reliability of learning. The standard object information is used for evaluating and learning the object that is successful tracking in tracking module. Detecting module finds out the object based on having the best possible knowledge available among the learned objects information, when the system fails to track. The experimental results show that the proposed system is able to recognize and track the reliable objects with reliability assessment of learning for the use of mobile platform.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop a PBL module in maternity nursing based on the clinical cases. A PBL module applied to maternity nursing class to test the effects on improving the learning ability of students. And it would be used for developing further PBL module even more perfectly. Method: We selected the concept of the PBL module which is based on the purpose of the contents of maternity nursing class and national test held by Korean Nursing Association. The module scenario was composed up of the cases of clinical practices and was also checked by clinical practice professionals as well as the nursing professionals in other colleges. We used this PBL module for the 20 second grade student nurses in K college for 6 weeks. Besides, we checked self-analyses on the PBL class, assessments done by students on the PBL class itself and on the academic adviser and analyzed the students' subjective statements on the PBL class . Results: The achievements of the experimental students given a PBL class, are better than those of the control group statistically. And the experimental group do their almost all learning planned actively for themselves and show their positive responses on the PBL class being helpful in practicing clinical cases. Conclusion: PBL class could be considered the method to fortify student nurses' abilities on adjusting themselves to clinical real situations through the learning planned by themselves. Afterwards it is necessary to activate PBL class in nurse education. Most of all, it is more important that nurse educators should recognize the values of this PBL class and try to apply it in reality.
Purpose: This study aimed to develop a nursing simulation learning module for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patient-care and examine its effects on clinical reasoning competence, clinical competence, performance confidence, and anxiety in COVID-19 patient care for nursing students. Methods: A non-equivalent control group pre- and post-test design was employed. The study participants included 47 nursing students (23 in the experimental group and 24 in the control group) from G City. A simulation learning module for COVID-19 patient-care was developed based on the Jeffries simulation model. The module consisted of a briefing, simulation practice, and debriefing. The effects of the simulation module were measured using clinical reasoning competence, clinical competence, performance confidence, and anxiety in COVID-19 patient-care. Data were analyzed using χ2-test, Fisher's exact test, t-test, Wilcoxon signed-rank test, and Mann-Whitney U test. Results: The levels of clinical reasoning competence, clinical competence, and performance confidence of the experimental group were significantly higher than that of the control group, and the level of anxiety was significantly low after simulation learning. Conclusion: The nursing simulation learning module for COVID-19 patient-care is more effective than the traditional method in terms of improving students' clinical reasoning competence, clinical competence, and performance confidence, and reducing their anxiety. The module is expected to be useful for educational and clinical environments as an effective teaching and learning strategy to empower nursing competency and contribute to nursing education and clinical changes.
The occupational execution technique and the ability of people has been changed along with the change of thinking and the development of complicated social structure. The needs of learner's self-controlled learning system is arise to increase the occupational execution technique and adaptation in such a changing social environment. To meet these needs, we must develop systematic approach on the module-type educational material system. The purpose of this study lies on developing the module-type educational material system and its application in aspects of occupational execution ability. Based on the job analysis of advertising design, 1 analyze the learning ability for the occupational execution and abstract knowledge, function, attitude from each learning category of each learning ability. All these processes are the basis of developing the module-type educational material system. and the system will be appreciated in many other fields not only on advertising design.
