  • The knowledge management starts from the enhancement of learning capability in the members of the organization. The strategic change into the learning organization should be aligned with the change of organizational strategy, structure and processes. The study employed action learning methodology to transform the traditional organization into the learning one. The learning organization project has been successful thanks to the members' zeal and consensus to change the processes. However, not every learning team has been so successful. Some cases complained time consuming where others expect to be helpful for their incentives. The researchers concluded that the most important point for success of the learning organization project should be the support of top management.

  • This paper represent a method of U-Learning based on advanced e-Learning. Ubiquitous computing configuration and advanced Information technology. As we know well, the 21th century is called knowledge based informational society. Many scholar stress that the improved 21th century's educational paradigm be able to success based on advanced educational paradigm. Therefore, we discuss the material for e-Learning fields including with necessity, vision, law, quality authorization etc. Also, we discuss the relational technologies including with meta data, standardization, identification etc. Finally, we propose a method for constructing the U-Learning based on advanced e-Learning and Ubiquitous computing configuration.

  • This study proposes University 2.0 as a model case of open, flexible, and distributed learning environment for higher education based on theoretical foundations and perspectives. As web 2.0 technologies emerge into the field of education, ways of generating and disseminating information and knowledge have been drastically changed. Professors are no longer the only source of knowledge. Students using internet often become prosumers of knowledge who search and access information through the web as well as publish their own knowledge using the web. A concept and framework of University 2.0 is introduced for implementing the new interactive learning paradigm with an open, flexible and distributed learning environment for higher education. University 2.0 incorporates online and offline learning environments with various educational media. Furthermore, it employs various learning strategies and integrates formal and informal learning through learning communities. Both instructors and students in University 2.0 environment are expected to be active knowledge generators as well as creative designers of their own learning and teaching.

An Investigation of the Learning Styles of South Korean Business Students

  • The Index of Learning Styles (ILS) instrument based on the Felder-Silverman Learning Style Model was used to determine distribution of learning styles of 125 South Korean business students enrolled in a South Korean institution of higher education. Results show that greater proportion of South Korean business students surveyed in this study prefer sensing over intuitive, visual over verbal, reflective over active, and global over sequential learning styles. The majority of business students have a balanced learning style in all four dimensions of the Felder-Silverman model. Among the students that do not have a balanced learning style, students with sensing, visual, reflective, and global learning styles dominate. Gender difference in learning style preference was not statistically significant for any of the four dimensions.

  • T Abstract This study investigates the influence of differential factors on learner satisfaction by field-independent learning style in e-learning. Most of data were collected from students. Participants were classified based on a learning style typology (field-independent/dependent) and, then, analyzed was the influence of key factors on learner satisfaction using multiple regression analysis. This study suggests that e-Learning service providers need to differentiate learners based on learning style in order to improve learner satisfaction. Specially, Field independent learners are more likely to be satisfied by the teacher's provide degree of joyful, degree of contents, degree of learning control pacing, ability of problem solving and consistency.

  • Learning is naturally embedded in organizational ongoing-processes and routines. Recent many research models of organizational failure ignore how failing masks breakdowns and recoveries of organization-embedded learning as a naturally occurring process. Organizational learning is the platform in tandem with base-modules of organization in this point. Organizations learn and unlearn while they acquire, discard, and forget organizational experiences or knowledges. These processes in public sector organizations are different from learning behaviors in private sector. This study expects to explore architectural components of learning organization in public sector, focusing on distinct characteristics of public organizations, and to implement learning model based on system thinking(system dynamic) approach.

Application of transfer learning for streamflow prediction by using attention-based Informer algorithm

  • Streamflow prediction is a critical task in water resources management and essential for planning and decision-making purposes. However, the streamflow prediction is challenging due to the complexity and non-linear nature of hydrological processes. The transfer learning is a powerful technique that enables a model to transfer knowledge from a source domain to a target domain, improving model performance with limited data in the target domain. In this study, we apply the transfer learning using the Informer model, which is a state-of-the-art deep learning model for streamflow prediction. The model was trained on a large-scale hydrological dataset in the source basin and then fine-tuned using a smaller dataset available in the target basin to predict the streamflow in the target basin. The results demonstrate that transfer learning using the Informer model significantly outperforms the traditional machine learning models and even other deep learning models for streamflow prediction, especially when the target domain has limited data. Moreover, the results indicate the effectiveness of streamflow prediction when knowledge transfer is used to improve the generalizability of hydrologic models in data-sparse regions.

  • With rapid change and intensive competition in the global economy, the capability to capture, absorb, develop, and transfer new knowledge is a key organizational success factor. Through effective learning, companies are more likely to develop the innovation, quality, and responsiveness essential to meet the growing expectations of customers and the disruptive threats of competitors and new technologies. In the paper the role of technological innovation and its relationship to organizational learning in managing technology-based new products are examined. Several factors which can influence the rate and effectiveness of organizational learning are identified. Barriers to learning also are discussed. Finally, several managerial implications and propositions for future research on learning and technological innovation are advanced.

A Study on the Effectiveness of Learning Organization Managed by Medical Center (의료기관 학습조직 운영효과에 관한 연구)

  • This study was designed to suggest a learning organization in a medical center by examining the factors to influence effectiveness of the learning organization. We collected the data of 586 persons who participated once or more times in the learning organization managed from 2000 to 2002 by Y Medical Center located in Seoul, and included the data of 285 persons in the final analysis. The results of the study are summarized as follows. First, as the results of examining the regression coefficients to predict the effectiveness of and satisfaction with the learning organization through the learning level, learning method and learning organization constructing level as the general variables, the important influential factors were shown as follows: 1)knowledge creation, knowledge storing, private learning, organizational learning, and learning organization construction of occupational and human levels as the factors to predict the working competency; 2) learning organization construction of the human level as the factors to assume the duty satisfaction; 3) gender, working years, private learning, team learning and organizational construction level for the prediction of the organizational commitment; and 4) medical technical service, knowledge creation, organization learning, and constructing level of the environmental and human levels for the assumption of the satisfaction with experience in the learning organization. Based on the study results of the effects in managing the learning organization, we can conclude the followings. First, the members who are in various working positions and occupations need to continuously participate in the learning organization. Second, to raise the organizational outcome from the management of the learning organization, it is necessary to establish systematic concepts in the constituents of the organizational effectiveness such as working competency improvement, duty satisfaction and organizational commitment, and the experience satisfaction of the learning organization. Finally, the future of the organization depends on the learning competencies of the organization members. To continuously exist and develop the organization, the private learning of the organizational members should be constantly spread and shared over the organizational level, and the usual innovations such as repetitive and habitual organizational learning should be generally tried out throughout the whole field of the management.

  • This paper aims at studying the new SCORM based e-Learning system and self-course design method. To construct this aims, we have researched the merits, shortcomings and characteristics of the previous LMS(Learning Management System) and we have researched the merits, shortcomings and characteristics of SCORM(Sharable Content Object Reference Model). SCORM was suggested ADL (Advanced Distributed Learning) to elevate the reusability of learning contents. Also we have researched the related researches of SCORM, SCORM based LMS and case studies. This paper suggests the level based self learning and course design and the system based on SCORM. This system has elevated the effectiveness and satisfaction of the learners.
