  • Manufacturing systems like a motor production process are analyzed using simulations than numerical analyses and/or heuristic methods due to their stochastic properties. The SME(small and medium enterprise) producing automotive motors that develop CIM systems to improve production performance is focused as an application site. We analyze and understand the system exactly using layout based simulation, and then we will suggest the initial feashible production-plan dependent on the layout to overcome weak-points of the current system(i.e., high WIPs, bottle-neck processes, due-date delays and etc.). And, solutions are suggested to increase performances of SMEs producing automotive motors in this paper. The simulation model built in this study is moedlled and analyzed with fully object-oriented methodology using SiMPLE++TM according to properties of production processes of the automotive motor. And, we will introduce ways to verify the model with developed templates for reusability when new needs will be occurred such as designing a new ship, extension or rearrangement of the system, change of production-plans, receiving urgent orders, and so on.

  • The constructability of Formwork has a importantly influence on the duration and cost in a construction project. However, the existing studies on the formwork are mainly focused on a method of construction. Although a layout planning of forms, especially, is an important factors affecting the constructability and cost, it is done by engineers empirically and intuitionally after completion of structure design. Therefore this study suggest a decision support model for optimal formwork layout model based on the rearrangement of structural members by using Genetic Algorithm to improve constructability of formwork.

  • Generally, electronic packaging designer uses HSPICE SOFTWARE TOOL to validate electric characteristics of traces layout before layout traces in PCB in hundreds Mb/s high speed digital circuits. We are in need of a plated through hole (PTH) model and a connector model to use HSPICE SOFTWARE TOOL. Those models have not been perfectly defined for HSPICE simulation. In this paper, we define a PTH model and a connector model for HSPICE simulation and discuss application range for these models. Th emodels are analytic models very applicable for HSPICE simulation and are used to analyze electric characteristic of the PTH and the connector in thetraces layout in high speed digital circuit.

해양환경을 고려한 수중기동표적 위치추적체계 최적배치에 관한 연구 (A Study on Optimal Placement of Underwater Target Position Tracking System considering Marine Environment)

  • The tracking accuracy of buoy-based LBL(Long Base Line) systems can be significantly influenced by sea environmental conditions. Particularly, the position of buoys that may have drifted due to sea currents. Therefore it is necessary to predict and optimize the drifted-buoy positions in the deploying step. This research introduces a free-drift simulation model using ocean data from the European CMEMS. The simulation model's predictions are validated by comparing them to actual sea buoy drift tracks, showing a substantial match in averaged drift speed and direction. Using this drift model, we optimize the initial buoy layout and compare the tracking performance between the center hexagonal layout and close track layout. Our results verify that the optimized layout achieves lower tracking errors compared to the other two layout.

해양플랜트 유지보수장치 엔지니어링을 위한 장비 배치 검증수행모델에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Model of Equipment Layout Verification for Offshore Plant Maintenance Equipment Engineering)

  • 본 논문은 해양플랜트 입찰단계에서 시스템엔지니어링(Systems Engineering)기법을 이용하여 해양플랜트를 구성하고 있는 장비 배치를 검증(Verification)할 수 있는 검증수행모델에 대한 연구이다. 해양플랜트 상부구조물(Topside) 유지보수 장비들을 엔지니어링하기 위하여는 Topside 장비 Layout검증이 선행되어야 한다. 하지만 입찰단계에서 완성도가 높지않는 FEED(Front End Engineering Design)결과물로 인한 많은 오류가 존재함에도 불구하고 검토시간의 부족 등의 이유로 검증을 수행하지 못하는 경우가 존재한다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 다학제간 접근방식인 시스템엔지니어링 프로세스를 간략화하여 적용함으로써 제한된 시간내 효과적으로 장비배치를 검증할 수 있는 검증수행모델을 제안하였다. 모델의 구성은 기능전개모델(Functional Deployment Model)을 통하여 구축하였으며 사례연구를 통하여 본 Topside 장비 배치에 대한 검증 수행모델을 검증하였다.

  • This paper presents a concurrent design approach that deals with manufacturing cell formation and cellular layout in Cellular Manufacturing System. Manufacturing cell formation is to group machines into machine cells dedicated to manufacture of part families, and cellular layout problem determines layout of the manufacturing cells within shop and layout of the machines within a cell. In this paper, a concurrent approach for design of machine cell and cellular layout is developed considering manufacturing parameters such as alternative process plans, alternative machines, production volume and processing time of part, and cost per unit time of operation. A mathematical model which minimizes total cost consisting of machine installation cost, machine operating cost, and intercell and intracell movements cost of part is proposed. A hybrid method based on genetic algorithm is proposed to solve the manufacturing cell formation and cellular layout design problem concurrently. The performance of the hybrid method is examined on several problems.

Optimization of settlement layout based on parametric generation

  • Design of settlement space is a complicated process while reasonable spatial layout bears great significance on the development and resource allocation of a settlement. The study proposes a weighted L-system generation algorithm based on CA (Cellular Automation) model which tags the spatial attributes of cells through changes in their state during the evolution of CA and thus identifies the spatial growth mode of a settlement. The entrance area of the Caidian Botanical and Animal Garden is used a case study for the model. A design method is proposed which starts from the internal logics of spatial generation, explores possibility of spatial rules and realizes the quantitative analysis and dynamic control of the design process. Taking a top-down approach, the design method takes into account the site information, studies the spatial generation mechanism of settlements and further presents a engine for the generation of multiple layout proposals based on different rules. A optimal solution is acquired using GA (Genetic Algorithm) which generates a settlement spatial layout carrying site information and dynamically linked to the surround environment. The study aims to propose a design method to optimize the spatial layout of the complex settlement system based on parametric generation.

최적화 기법을 이용한 부유식 해양 플랜트 상부 구조의 다층 배치 모델 (Multi-floor Layout Model for Topsides of Floating Offshore Plant using the Optimization Technique)

  • For a floating offshore plant such as FPSO(Floating, Production, Storage, and Off-loading unit), various equipment should be installed in the restricted space, as compared with an onshore plant. The requirement for an optimal layout method of the plant has been increased in these days. Thus, a layout method of the floating offshore plant was proposed in this study. For this, an optimization problem for layout design was mathematically formulated, and then an optimization algorithm based on the genetic algorithm was implemented with C++ language in order to solve it. Finally, the proposed method was applied to an example of FPSO topsides. As a result, it was shown that the proposed method can be applied to layout design of the floating offshore plant such as FPSO.

Research on Facility Layout of Prefabricated Building Construction Site

  • Due to the high degree of mechanization and the good environmental benefits, the prefabricated buildings are being promoted in China. The construction site layout of the prefabricated buildings has important influence on its safety benefit. However, few scholars have studied the safety problem on it. Firstly, in order to give a follow-up study foreshadowing the characteristics of prefabricated buildings are analyzed, the research assumptions are given and three types of safety buffers are established. And then a mult-objective model for the prefabricated buildings site layout is presented: taking into account the limits of noise, the coverage of the tower crane and the possibility of exceeding boundaries and overlapping, the constraints are and designed established respectively; Based on the improved System Layout Planning (SLP) method, the efficiency\cost\safety interaction matrices among the facilities are also founded for objective function. For the sake of convenience, a hypothetical facility layout case of the prefabricated building is used, the optimal solution of that is obtained in MATLAB with particle swarm algorithm (PSO), which proves the effectiveness of the model presented in this paper.

클래스다이어그램의 레이아웃과 복잡도가 모델 이해도에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Layout and Complexity of Class Diagram on Model Comprehension)

  • UML 다이어그램은 시스템을 모델링 하기 위한 언어로 사실상 표준으로 널리 사용되고 있다. 그 가운데 특히 클래스다이어그램은 시스템을 클래스와 클래스들간 관계로 시각화한 것으로 순공학적, 역공학적 시스템 모델링 및 구현에 직접적인 영향을 미친다. 많은 연구에서 클래스다이어그램의 레이아웃과 복잡성이 시스템 모델링의 이해에 미치는 영향을 설명하고 있다. 하지만 연구 결과가 혼재되어 있어 레이아웃 적용의 효과를 판단하는데 어려움이 따른다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 기존 연구에서 제시된 클래스다이어그램 레이아웃 기준을 토대로 2 (레이아웃) ${\times}$ 2 (복잡성) 실험을 설계, 레이아웃 적용으로 인한 이해도를 측정하였다. 47명의 피험자가 실험에 참여하여 서로 다르게 제시된 레이아웃과 복잡성에 대해 이해하도록 하였다. 그 결과 레이아웃을 적용한 실험 그룹에서 유효한 효과를 나타내었고 뿐만 아니라 복잡성에서도 유효한 결과를 확인할 수 있었다. 하지만 이 둘의 상호작용 측정에 있어서는 유효한 결과를 얻지 못했다.
