A Study on Web-based Collaborative CAD System (웹 기반 협동 CAD시스템에 관한 연구)

  • As computer system and information/communication technology develop rapidly, nowadays CSCW(Computer Supported Collaborative Work) system appears, through which it is available to work on virtual space without any restriction of time and place. Most of Un systems depend on a special network and groupware. The systems of graphics and CAD are not so many because they are characterized by Hardware and application software. In this paper, we propose a web-based collaborative CAD system which can be jointly worked on Internet WWW being independent from any platforms. It can generate and handle objects easily using lava 3D, and it can transmit, print, and store them. The interactive work for designing objects can be also carried out through dialling with each other. This system is executed in the environment of Client/server. Clients connect to the server through lava applet on WWW. The server is implemented by lava application, and it consists of three components : connection manager which controls the contact to users, work manager which keeps viewing in concurrency and provides virtual work space sharing with others, and solid modeler which generates 3D object.

  • In order to efficiently provide the learning ability for engineering education, electromagnetic field simulator have been developed on lava 2 platform. Each simulation module based on lava applet can be easily utilized with independent platform and provide GUI environment to set up physical conditions. The numerical results using computer animation technique are provided in real time. To aggregate and manage the learning objects, application of SCORM which is e-Learning standards is also studied.

  • In this paper, we implement the speech recognition system based on the continuous distribution HMM and Browser-embedded model using the Java. That is developed for the speech analysis, processing and recognition on the Web. Client sends server through the socket to the speech informations that extracting of end-point detection, MFCC, energy and delta coefficients using the Java Applet. The sewer consists of the HMM recognizer and trained DB which recognizes the speech and display the recognized text back to the client. Because of speech recognition system using the java is high error rate, the platform is independent of system on the network. But the meaning of implemented system is merged into multi-media parts and shows new information and communication service possibility in the future.

  • This paper presents an implementation of an Remote Examination System on Internet using Java and SWING GUI API. The system is consisted of three parts: generating examination part that is Java application, answering questions part that is Java Applet, reviewing results part that is Java Applet. The first part is implemented with the 2-tier client/server architecture and the last two parts is implemented the 3-tier client/server architecture. Database programming is done using Java JDBC API for database independence and portability. This system can be used the evaluation of lectures, and substituted for pen-and-pencil examinations or adopted to survey applications based on Internet.

  • This paper proposes bridge diagnosis system using Embedded LINUX and Genetic algorithm. The proposed system consists of MPC860 processor, FPCA, Bridge sensors and Genetic algorithm for bridge diagnosis. And the proposed system can operate with World Wide Web in GUI environment by lava, therefore, system is useful in diagnosing bridge at all times. Using genetic algorithm, this system can measure various bridge sensors with best gain and offset, therefore, range of measurement can be enlarged. Proposed system is certified by system-based test. .

  • This paper is studied about the DC motor synchronization control for robot driving DC motor where is located in long distance place. The DC motors are received the speed order through internet with realtime. We designed the PID controller that related to PWM voltage and revolution given by 80C196KC $\mu$-Processor to move DC motors, so two motors were synchronized quickly about the order of random speed or location by PID controller. Furthermore, we controlled motors with realtime through internet by using lava platform that had a excellent compatibility, and monitored the speed of two motors.

  • This paper describes the development of a brickwork game with three-dimensional computer graphics as one of web-based game contents. Client user using web can access and run lava applet program with the independence of hardware system. It consists of graphic user interface module, initial space generation module, event handler module, player control module, and thread control module. It uses 3-D array data structure for the 3-D graphic objects that are located in three-dimensional space for high-speed object searching and sorting. It enhances to compare with predetermined construction in three-dimensional space. We can use the developed racing game to inform game users of information for an advertisement like tourism information, and can apply the proposed 3-D drawing technology to 3-D game graphic engine core.
