Energy efficiency, low latency and scalability for wireless sensor networks are important requirements, especially, the wireless sensor network consist of a large number of sensor nodes should be minimized energy consumption of each node to extend network lifetime with limited battery power. An efficient algorithm and energy management technology for minimizing the energy consumption at each sensor node is also required to improve transfer rate. Thus, this paper propose no-overlap multi-pass protocol provides for sensor data transmission in the wireless sensor network environment. The proposed scheme should minimize network overhead through reduced a sensor data translation use to searched multi-path and added the multi-path in routing table. Proposed routing protocol may minimize the energy consumption at each node, thus prolong the lifetime of the sensor network regardless of where the sink node is located outside or inside the received signal strength range. To verify propriety proposed scheme constructs sensor networks adapt to current model using the real data and evaluate consumption of total energy.
Purpose: This study was designed to examine whether the use of neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES) after mandibular distraction osteogenesis accelerated bone formation and consolidation. Methods: Eight adult dogs underwent mandibular left body osteotomy. After a 3 day latency period, a distraction rod device was activated at a rate of 1.0 mm once per day for 10 days. After the completion of mandibular lengthening, NMES group was treated twice daily with 2 hours of NMES for 14, and 28 days, while non-NMES group did not receive NMES. The distracted segment was evaluated radiolgraphically histologically and than immunohistochemically for osteopontin (OPN) to evaluate new bone formation and consolidation. Results: Radiography, did not demonstrate significantly different images between the group and the NMES group. Histological examination however, showed that the new bone formation 14 and 28 days after distraction was better in the NMES group when compared to non-NMES group. Immunohistochemical analysis demonstrated that the staining intensity of OPN increased more in the NMES group than in non-NMES group during early consolidation. Conclusion: The results of this study demonstrated that the use of NMES can promote bone formation and consolidation.

We investigated the brain substrate of repetition priming on the implicit memory taskusing low-resolution electromagnetic tomography (LORETA) with high-density 128 channel EEG and individual MRI as a realistic head model. Thirteen right-handed, healthy subjects performed a word/nonword discrimination task, in which the words and nonwords were presented visually, and some of the words appeared twice with a lag of one or five items. All of the subjects exhibited repetition priming with respect to the behavioral data, in which a faster reaction time was observed to the repeated word (old word) than to the first presentation of the word (new word). The old words elicited more positive-going potentials than the new words, beginning at 200 ms and lasting until 500 ms post-stimulus. We conducted source reconstruction using LORETA at a latency of 400 ms with the peak mean global field potentials and used statistical parametric mapping for the statistical analysis. We found that the source elicited by the old words exhibited a statistically significant current density reduction in the left inferior frontal gyrus. This is the first study to investigate the generators of repetition priming using voxel-by-voxel statistical mapping of the current density with individual MRI and high-density EEG.
Excess manganese (Mn) is neurotoxic. Increased manganese stores in the brain are associated with a number of behavioral problems, including motor dysfunction, memory loss and psychiatric disorders. We previously showed that the transport and neurotoxicity of manganese after intranasal instillation of the metal are altered in Hfe-deficient mice, a mouse model of the iron overload disorder hereditary hemochromatosis (HH). However, it is not fully understood whether loss of Hfe function modifies Mn neurotoxicity after ingestion. To investigate the role of Hfe in oral Mn toxicity, we exposed Hfe-knockout ($Hfe^{-/-}$) and their control wild-type ($Hfe^{+/+}$) mice to $MnCl_2$ in drinking water (5 mg/mL) for 5 weeks. Motor coordination and spatial memory capacity were determined by the rotarod test and the Barnes maze test, respectively. Brain and liver metal levels were analyzed by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry. Compared with the water-drinking group, mice drinking Mn significantly increased Mn concentrations in the liver and brain of both genotypes. Mn exposure decreased iron levels in the liver, but not in the brain. Neither Mn nor Hfe deficiency altered tissue concentrations of copper or zinc. The rotarod test showed that Mn exposure decreased motor skills in $Hfe^{+/+}$ mice, but not in $Hfe^{-/-}$ mice (p = 0.023). In the Barns maze test, latency to find the target hole was not altered in Mn-exposed $Hfe^{+/+}$ compared with water-drinking $Hfe^{+/+}$ mice. However, Mn-exposed $Hfe^{-/-}$ mice spent more time to find the target hole than Mn-drinking $Hfe^{+/+}$ mice (p = 0.028). These data indicate that loss of Hfe function impairs spatial memory upon Mn exposure in drinking water. Our results suggest that individuals with hemochromatosis could be more vulnerable to memory deficits induced by Mn ingestion from our environment. The pathophysiological role of HFE in manganese neurotoxicity should be carefully examined in patients with HFE-associated hemochromatosis and other iron overload disorders.
The development of wireless sensor networks (WSN) can be motivated by several types of applications. However, these applications demand an energy-efficient WSN that can prolong the network lifetime and can provide high throughput, low latency and delay. Designing wireless sensor networks with the capability of prolonging network lifetime catch the attention of many researchers in wireless system and network field. Contrasts with Mobile Ad Hoc Network system, Wireless Sensor Networks designs focused more on survivability of each node in the network instead of maximizing data throughput or minimizing end-to-end delay. In this paper, we will study part of data link layer in Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) model, called medium access control (MAC) layer. Since the MAC development of energy aware MAC Protocol for wireless sensor layer controls the physical radio part, it has a large impact on the overall energy consumption and the lifetime of a node. This paper proposes a analytical approach that tries to reduce idle energy consumption, and shows the increasement of network end-to-end arrival rate due to efficiency in energy consumption from time slot management.

We investigate the end-to-end delay bounds in large scale networks with Differentiated services (DiffServ) architecture. It is generally understood that networks with DiffServ architectures, where packets are treated according to the class they belong, can guarantee the end-to-end delay for packets of the highest priority class, only in lightly utilized cases. We focus on tree networks, which are defined to be acyclic connected graphs. We obtain a closed formula for delay bounds for such networks. We show that, in tree networks, the delay bounds exist regardless of the level of network utilization. These bounds are quadratically proportional to the maximum hop counts in heavily utilized networks; and are linearly proportional to the maximum hop counts in lightly utilized networks. Considering that tree networks, especially the Ethernet networks are being accepted more and more for access networks as well as provider networks, we argue that based on these delay bounds DiffServ architecture is able to support real time applications even for a large network. Throughout the paper we use Latency-Rate (LR) server model, with which it has proven that FIFO and Strict Priority are LR servers to each flows in certain conditions.

The SoC bus topology is classified to single and multiple bus systems due to bus number. In single bus system, the selected only one master among the masters that try to initiate the bus transaction can execute its data transaction. On the other hand, in multiple bus system, as several buses that can be operated independently are connected with bridge, multiple data can be transferred parallel in each bus. However, In the case of data communication from one bus system to the other, data latency has remarkably increased in multiple bus. Furthermore, the performance of multiple bus can be easily different from master number, slave type and so on. In this paper, the performance of single and multiple bus architecture is compared and quantitatively analysed with the variation of master number and slave type especially a tying SDRAM, SRAM and register with TLM simulation method.

Checkpoint placement is an effective fault tolerance technique against transient faults in which the task is re-executed from the latest checkpoint when a fault is detected. In this paper, we propose a new checkpoint placement strategy separating data saving and fault detection processes that are performed together in conventional checkpoints. Several fault detection processes are performed in one checkpoint interval in order to decrease the latency between the occurrence and detection of faults. We address the placement method of fault detection processes to maximize the probability of successful execution of a task within the given deadline. We develop the Markov chain model for a real-time task having the proposed checkpoints, and derive the optimal fault detection and checkpoint interval.

Bus system consists of several masters, slaves, arbiter and decoder in a bus. Master means the processor that performs data command like CPU, DMA, DSP and slave means the memory that responds the data command like SRAM, SDRAM and register. Furthermore, as multiple masters can't use a bus concurrently, arbiter plays an role in bus arbitration. In compliance with the selection of arbitration method bus system performance can be charged definitely. Fixed priority and round-robin are used in general arbitration method and TDMA and Lottery bus methods are proposed currently as the improved arbitration schemes. In this stuff, we proposed the score arbitration method and composed TLM algorithm. Also we analyze the performance compared with general arbitration methods through simulation. In the future, bus arbitration policy will be developed with the basis of the score arbitration method and improve the performance of bus system.
Objectives : Alteration of hippocampus was demonstrated in the maternal social separation(MSS) pups, separated from dams on postnatal day(pnd) 14 and placed alone. Therefore, to understand the molecular events involved in the MSS, we have initiated a search for gene profiles that are up or down-regulated in the hippocampus of MSS pups. Methods : Analysis of cDNA microarray was performed by using total RNA extracted from the hippocampus of control and MSS pups on pnd 17. Also, passive-avoidance test was demonstrated on pnd 35. Results : Up-regulation of Nedd4a was observed in the hippocampus of MSS pups. Also, MSS rats showed less elongation of latency in passive avoidance test. Conclusion : We suggest that environmental effects of MSS may be altered the neural and/or glial differentiation and synapse formation-related genes which may lead cognitive alterations in MSS rats.
