불연속 변형 해석법에 의한 지하수-암반블록 상호작용 모델링 (Modeling the Water-Block Interaction with Discontinuous Deformation Analysis Method)

  • 불연속 변형 해석법(Discontinuous Deformation Analysis Method)은 1988년에 Shi에 의해 개발되었으며, 암반-구조물 상호작용 모델링에 매우 효율적인 해석법이다. 이 해석법에서 암반은 유한하고 변형가능한 블록으로 간주되며, 암반의 대변형 및 이동이 가능하다. 그 후, DDA 방법에 대한 여러가지 보완사례가 발표되었으나, 균열이 발달한 암반의 지표 또는 지중 굴착 모델링에 긴요한 지하수-암반블록 상호작용 모델링은 불가능하다. 본 논문에서는 암반 블록 사이의 수리 력학적 커플링을 고려하기 위한 새로운 방법이 제시된다. 또한, 이 방법이 보완된 새로운 DDA해석법의 적용 예가 제시된다. 본 연구결과 암반 균열 사이를 흐르는 지하수는 터널의 안정성에 나쁜 영향을 미친다는 사실이 확인되었다.

개폐식 지붕구조의 움직임에 대한 공간구조물의 진동해석 (Vibration Analysis of Space Structure with Retractable Roof)

  • 지붕구조의 개폐가 가능한 체육시설 및 복합시설은 대공간구조물의 장점을 잘 나타내고 있으며 대공간구조물의 전천후 사용이 가능하도록 하였다. 개폐식 지붕구조는 구조형식, 마감재료, 개폐방식에 따라서 매우 다양하며 개폐방식에 따라서 중첩방식, 수평이동방식, 주름접기방식 등으로 구분할 수 있다. 특히 중첩방식이나 수평이동방식에 의한 지붕구조의 움직임은 주행하중, 충격하중, 관성력 및 제동력과 같은 동적하중이 구조물에 가해질 수 있으므로 이에 대한 대공간구조물의 진동해석이 필요할 것으로 사료된다. 지붕구조의 움직임에 의한 주행하중은 이동질량 또는 이동하중으로 적용할 수 있으나 비교적 움직임이 느린 개폐식 지붕구조에 의한 동적하중은 아동하중으로 적용하는 것이 타당하다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 지붕구조의 개폐로 야기되는 이동하중에 대한 새로운 적용방법을 제안하고 이를 이용하여 개폐식 지붕의 개폐속도에 따른 대공간구조물의 진동해석을 수행하였다. 본 논문에서 제안된 등가 이동하중은 지붕구조 개폐에 의한 대공간구조물의 진동해석에 있어서 매우 용이하게 활용할 수 있다.

Expression of Antihypertensive Peptide, His-His-Leu, as Tandem Repeats in Escherichia coli

  • His-His-Leu (HHL), a tripeptide derived from a Korean soybean paste, is an angiotensin-I-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor. We report here a method of producing this tripeptide efficiently by expressing tandem multimers of the codons encoding the peptide in E. coli and purifying the HHL after hydrolysis of the peptide multimers. The HHL gene, tandemly multimerized to a 40-mer, was ligated with ubiquitin as a fusion gene (UH40). UH40 was inserted into vector pET29b; the UH40 fusion protein was then produced in E. coli BL21. The recombinant UH40 protein was purified by cation-exchange chromatography with a yield of 17.3mg/l and analyzed by matrixassisted laser desorption ionization (MALDI) time-of-flight (TOF) mass spectrometry and protein N-terminal sequencing. Leucine aminopeptidase was used to cleave a 405-Da HHL monomer from the UH40 fusion protein and the peptide was purified using reverse-phase high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) on a C18 HPLC column, with a final yield of 6.2mg/l. The resulting peptide was confirmed to be HHL with the aid of MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry, glutamine-TOF mass spectrometry, N-terminal sequencing, and measurement of ACE inhibiting activity. These results suggest that our production method is useful for obtaining a large quantity of recombinant HHL for functional antihypertensive peptide studies.

Fluid-structure-soil interaction analysis of cylindrical liquid storage tanks subjected to horizontal earthquake loading

  • This paper presents a method of seismic analysis for a cylindrical liquid storage structure considering the effects of the interior fluid and exterior soil medium in the frequency domain. The horizontal and rocking motions of the structure are included in this study. The fluid motion is expressed in terms of analytical velocity potential functions, which can be obtained by solving the boundary value problem including the deformed configuration of the structure as well as the sloshing behavior of the fluid. The effect of the fluid is included in the equation of motion as the impulsive added mass and the frequency-dependent convective added mass along the nodes on the wetted boundary of the structure. The structure and the near-field soil medium are represented using the axisymmetric finite elements, while the far-field soil is modeled using dynamic infinite elements. The present method can be applied to the structure embedded in ground as well as on ground, since it models both the soil medium and the structure directly. For the purpose of verification, earthquake response analyses are performed on several cases of liquid tanks on a rigid ground and on a homogeneous elastic half-space. Comparison of the present results with those by other methods shows good agreement. Finally, an application example of a reinforced concrete tank on a horizontally layered soil with a rigid bedrock is presented to demonstrate the importance of the soil-structure interaction effects in the seismic analysis for large liquid storage tanks.

  • 현재 분재재배의 큰 문제점은 높은 노동력에 비해 생산성이 매우 낮은 것이다 본 연구는 관수시스템과 관리방법의 개발로 고품질의 분재를 대량생산하기 위해 실시되었다. FRP분상에서 재배된 분재는 직수관수나 스프링클러 관수에 비해 저변관수시스템에서 생육이 매우 좋았다. 또한 저면관수시스템은 노동력을 크게 줄일 수 있었고 짧은 기간에 대량생산을 할 수 있었다. 또한 비닐하우스내(內)에서 저면관수 시스템의 이용은 조기생산은 물론 고품질의 분재를 생산할 수 있었으며 내한성이 약한 수종들도 겨울재배가 가능하였다. 본 연구는 세계시장을 위한 국가경쟁력에 크게 기여하였을 뿐만 아니라 농가 수익에도 큰 도움을 줄 수 있었다.

  • This study explores the retail environment factors of the changes mentioned in the "Factors and Directions of the Change of the Apparel Retail Structure in Korea" (Part I) to understand the changes in apparel retail institutions. This study was done through a literature research method and the results are as follows. First, changing consumer needs and trends require extensive new products, a method to manufacture diverse products according to the market demand, and the necessity to manufacture based on trends in demand. This limits the role of mass production, which brought about more flexible manufacturing modes, scaled down manufacturing factories, promoted more cooperative subcontract relationships, and increased global sourcing which uses other companies at the most appropriate global venue. How to organize and use cooperative networks that benefit companies is the key to global competitiveness in the new era and the information technology developed around retail shops plays a key role. Consequently, the management of consumers and their information becomes critical and retail distribution functions become a key corporate function. In addition, it is difficult for small shops to introduce effective new technologies that encourage the growth of large companies. Second, apparel companies that use to benefit from scale merits based on the previous mass production system are now becoming effective by using economies of scale through mass retailing while shops are enlarging their sizes as a way to survive. On the other hand, inexpensive clothes become even more inexpensive while expensive ones become even more expensive, promoting polarization and diverse price ranges that widen consumer options.

신흥시장 개척을 위한 최적 제품 포트폴리오 (Optimizing the product portfolio for emerging markets)

  • 자동차 부품기업들은 플랫폼 기반 대량맞춤형 제품개발과 생산을 통해 비용절감과 아시아 신흥시장 수주 확대를 목표로 하고 있다. 그러나 신흥시장은 수주량이 적고, 변동성이 높아 목표 달성이 어렵다. 본 연구는 부품기업 관점에서 신흥시장의 수주량 변동성 위험을 적정 수준으로 관리하면서, 영업이익을 극대화할 수 있는 제품 포트폴리오 최적화 방법을 제안한다. 기존 제품 포트폴리오 최적화 접근법과의 차별점은 세가지다. 첫째, 플랫폼 기반 대량맞춤형 생산에 의한 비용 절감효과를 반영한다. 둘째, 수주량 변동성을 고려한다. 셋째, 최소 영업이익률 유지라는 강건성 조건을 반영한다. 실무적으로는 신흥시장 개척의 재무 위험을 최소한도로 유지하면서, 점진적으로 시장점유율을 높여가는 동적 제품개발 전략 수립의 토대를 제공한다. 북미, 유럽, 아시아 18개 업체에 납품하는 다국적 부품제조기업의 파워리프트게이트 제품을 대상으로 실증연구를 수행했다.

Micro-Pressing 방법과 Dicing 방법에 의해 제조된 PZT Ultrasonic Transducer Array의 특성 (Properties of PZT Ultrasonic Transducer Array Fabricated by Micro-Pressing and Dicing method)

  • We investigated properties of PZT composite for medical ultrasonic transducer array (briefly UTA) for medicine applications fabricated by micro pressing and dicing method. Dicing method was the fabrication process of conventional ultrasonic transducer array by dicing sintered PZT sheet. Micro pressing method was the proposed process using pressing PZT green sheet by PMMA micro mold from LIGA process. Microstructures, electrical and electro -mechanical properties of fabricated UTAs of two cases were analyzed. Thickness mode electro-mechanical coupling coefficient of two cases have same values of 51%. Sintered PZT Microstructures of them showed dense and uniform. Micro pressing method was very mass productive process because of using batch type LIGA process. From results, we found micro pressing method was more competitive than dicing method for UTA fabrication. For further study, uniformity of microstructures and electro-mechanical properties of large scale, and fabrication processes of Ni plating and PMMA molding should be improved and investigated.

  • Natural frequencies of the transνerse vibration of beams with step change in cross-section are obtained by using the asymptotic closed form solution. This closed form solution is found by using WKB method under the assumption of slowly varying properties, such as mass, cross-section, tension etc., along the beam length. However, this solution is found to be still very accurate even in the case of large variation in cross-section and tension. Therefore, this result can be easily applied to many engineering problems.

  • A collision free trajectory control for multiple mobile robots in obstacle-resident workspace is proposed. The proposed method is based on the concept of neural optimization network which has been applied to such problems which are too complex to be handled by traditional analytical methods, and gives good adaptibility for unpredictable environment. In this paper, the positions of the mobile robot are taken as the variables of the neural circuit and the differential equations are derived based on the performance index which is the weighted summation of the functions of the distances between the goal and current position of each robot, between each pair of robots and between the goal and current position of each robot, between each pair of robots and between obstacles and robots. Also is studied the problem of local minimum and of detour in large radius around obstacles, which is caused by inertia of mobile robots. To show the validity of the proposed method an example is illustrated by computer simulation, in which 6 mobile robots with mass and friction traverse in a workspace with 6 obstacles.
