  • It is essential to get large prime numbers in the design of asymmetric encryption algorithm. However, the pseudoprime numbers with high possibility to be primes have been generally used in the asymmetric encryption algorithms, because it is very difficult to find large deterministic prime numbers. In this paper, we propose a new method of deterministic prime number generation. The prime numbers generated by the proposed method have a 100% precise prime characteristic. They are also guaranteed reliability, security strength, and an ability of primitive element generation.

  • The coarse grained materials are used in various construction field such as express way back fill, Dam etc. Especially, for dam construction, a huge mount of rock fill materials are needed, so around domestic stony mountains are generally developed to produce materials. Not an accurate theory, but design criteria is based on empirical factors that were constructed in advance for design of dam especially Concrete Face Rockfill Dam(CFRD). Considering the post facts, the modified design criteria are essential in the future with more theoretical and experimental ways. In this study, large scale direct shear tests are performed with various relative density conditions on coarse grained material of Yecheon area to compare test results and general CFRD design factors.

  • In order to design the large complex structures like VLFS (Very Large Floating Structures), it is essential the cooperation between the experts in various fields; structural engineering expert, fluid mechanics expert, mooring system engineer, and so on. This paper describes the development of an integrated system to support the cooperative design between various experts and project manager. This integrated system is designed to be operated in Web environment and it contains the support of design DB and 3D graphical tool, negotiation tool for task allocation, and various engineering supporting tools for each design step. The user group of this system can be classified as Project Manager, Engineering Expert, DB Builder, and System Administrator. All of the engineering data is saved after and during the process of the design projects and all participants can be connected by Internet without the limit of time or space constraints.

  • The prediction of contract cancellation of customers is essential in insurance companies but it is a difficult problem because the customer database is large and the target or cancelled customers are a small proportion of the database. This paper proposes a new data mining approach to the binary classification by handling a large-scale unbalanced data. Over-sampling, clustering, regularized logistic regression and boosting are also incorporated in the proposed approach. The proposed approach was applied to a real data set in the area of insurance and the results were compared with some other classification techniques.

  • Tuned Mass Damper(TMD) has been applied in various fields in order to mitigate these vibrations. The shape or configuration of TMDs being unrestricted, a large panel of designs is possible to improve their effectiveness and economical-efficiency, where ingenuity plays an essential role and is required. This study presents an application of a new-type TMD on lamp posts to reduce vibrations induced by loads with large frequency domains such as wind loads. It is shown that the proposed TMD absorbs efficiently the energy without being restricted by frequency contents of the vibration.

  • Earthquake is a natural disaster accompanied by damage of human and properties caused by the ground motion, crustal movements, faults as well as tidal wave. The earthquake is known to occur mostly in earthquake-prone areas and the Korean Peninsula is known to be relatively safe in terms of geological characteristics. In order to withstand on severe environmental dynamic random load such as an earthquake, the large structure need to be designed to withstand the anticipated seismic tremor. The seismetic design is essential for building structures, bridges, and large structures which is handles explosive gases. Thus, the necessity of earthquake resistant analysis for large structure is growing and the capability of dynamic analysis should be obtained. In this thesis, dynamic responses of a high building(height 60m, width 18) which subjected to random earthquake load are presented which responses are derived using dynamic analysis methods such as response spectrum analysis, mode superposition and direct integration. Each results are also compared to review the merit of each methods.

  • Generally, the optical components are fabricated by grinding, lapping, and polishing. And, those processes take long time to obtain such a high surface quality. Therefore, in the case of large optical component, the on-machine inspection (OMI) is essential. Because, the work piece is fragile and difficult to set up for fabricating and measuring. This paper is concerned about a swing-arm method for measuring surface profile of large optical concave mirror. The measuring accuracy and uncertainty for suggested method are studied. The experimental results show that this method is useful specially in lapping process with the accuracy of $3\~5\;{\mu}m$. Those inspection data are provided for correcting the residual figuring error in lapping or polishing processes.

  • The rapid increase in genetic dataset volume has demanded extensive adoption of biological knowledge to reduce the computational complexity, and the biological pathway is one well-known source of such knowledge. In this regard, we have introduced a novel statistical method that enables the pathway-based association study of large-scale genetic dataset-namely, PHARAOH. However, researcher-level application of the PHARAOH method has been limited by a lack of generally used file formats and the absence of various quality control options that are essential to practical analysis. In order to overcome these limitations, we introduce our integration of the PHARAOH method into our recently developed all-in-one workbench. The proposed new PHARAOH program not only supports various de facto standard genetic data formats but also provides many quality control measures and filters based on those measures. We expect that our updated PHARAOH provides advanced accessibility of the pathway-level analysis of large-scale genetic datasets to researchers.

  • Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) is the most common type of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. Although progressive lymphadenopathy is a typical feature, extranodal involvement may also occur, including the gastrointestinal tract, skin, bone, thyroid, and testes. Central nervous system invasion is rare, so differentiating it from diseases such as inflammatory demyelinating disorder or infection is essential. DLBCL is therefore a challenge to diagnose, especially when the first findings are neurological symptoms. We report an unusual case of DLBCL that presented as transverse myelitis.

  • Recently, the development of offshore wind farms based on past technical experiences from onshore wind turbine installations has become a worldwide issue. This study investigated the technical issues related to offshore wind farms and large-diameter monopiles from an economic perspective. In particular, the monopile foundation system (MFS), which is the most important part of the proposed fast construction system, is applied for the first time in Korea, and structural verification is essential because it supports large-diameter monopiles and is in charge of excavation. Therefore, in this study, a rapid construction system for large offshore wind power generators was introduced, and stability verification was performed through the structural analysis of the MFS.
