Effect of Fiber Orientation on Failure Strength Properties of Natural Fiber Reinforced Composites including Adhesive Bonded Joint (접착제 접합된 자연섬유강화 복합재료의 파괴강도 특성에 미치는 섬유 방향의 영향)

  • This paper is concerned with a fracture strength study of composite adhesive lap joints. The tests were carried out on specimen joints manufactured hybrid stacked composites such as the polyester and bamboo natural fiber layer. The main objective of the work was to test the fracture strength using hybrid stacked composites with a polyester and bamboo natural fiber layer. Tensile and peel strength of hybrid stacked composites are tested before appling adhesive bonding. From results, Natural fiber reinforced composites have lower tensile strength than the original polyester. and The load directional orientation and small amount and low thickness of bamboo natural fiber layer have a good effect on the tensile and peel strength of natural fiber reinforced composites. The failure strength of these materials applied adhesive bonding is also affected by fiber orientation and thickness of bamboo natural fiber layer. There for, Fiber orientation of bamboo natural fiber layer have a great effect on the tensile-shear strength of natural fiber reinforced composites including adhesive bonded joints.

  • In an attempt to optimize friction spot joining process of Al alloys for automobiles, Friction spot joining was used make lap feint on strips of AA5052-H32 and AA6022-T4 aluminium alloy. The effects of joining parameters such as tool rotating speed, plunging depth, joining time and kind of upper plate on the joints properties were investigated. An optimal tensile shear strength parameter of a tool rotating speed of 1000rpm, dwell time 2.5sec with upper plate 6022 can be found to make a good joint.

  • 동시경화조인트는 경화 시 복합재료로부터 흘러나오는 수지를 접착제로 사용하기 때문에 제조과정이 간편할 뿐 아니라 복합재료를 표면 처리할 필요가 없기 때문에 기존의 접착제에 의한 접합방법에 비해 장점을 지닌다. 최근 동시경화조인트에 관한 연구가 활발하게 진행되고 있으나 해석적인 방법을 통한 연구는 아직까지 미비하다. 실험적으로 연구된 결과를 보면 동시경화 조인트는 계면 모서리에서 파괴가 시작되어 계면을 따라 파괴가 진행된다. 그러므로 조인트의 계면 모서리에서의 응력집중계수에 관해 연구하는 것이 중요하다. 본 논문에서는 고유치 문제를 고려하여 복합재료와 강재료로 구성된 동시경화조인트의 계면 모서리에서 발생하는 응력 및 변위장을 결정하고, H-적분을 이용하여 응력집중계수를 구하는 방법을 제시하고자 한다.

Prediction of Arc Welding Quality through Artificial Neural Network (신경망 알고리즘을 이용한 아크 용접부 품질 예측)

  • Artificial neural network (ANN) model is applied to predict arc welding process window for automotive steel plate. Target weldment was various automotive steel plate combination with lap fillet joint. The accuracy of prediction was evaluated through comparison experimental result to ANN simulation. The effect of ANN variables on the accuracy is investigated such as number of hidden layers, perceptrons and transfer function type. A static back propagation model is established and tested. The result shows comparatively accurate predictability of the suggested ANN model. However, it restricts to use nonlinear transfer function instead of linear type and suggests only one single hidden layer rather than multiple ones to get better accuracy. In addition to this, obvious fact is affirmed again that the more perceptrons guarantee the better accuracy under the precondition that there are enough experimental database to train the neural network.

  • Laser welding technology for automobile body is studied. Laser system, robot and seam tracking system are used for 3D laser welding system. The laser system is used 4kW Nd:YAG laser(HL4006D) of Trumpf and the robot system is used IRB6400R of ABB. The seam tracking system is SMRT-20LS of ServoRobot. The welding joints of steel plate are butt and lap joint. The 3 dimensional laser welding for non-linear pipe welding line is performed.

  • This research is concerned with a study of failure strength evaluation on heat element gap at resistance welding. The failure strength of resistance welded joint is changed by welding factor like as current(power level), welding time(total energy), pressure etc. and another heat element factor like as number of element line, element gap etc. Tensile-shear tests were carried out with the single-lap specimen using polypropylene(PP). The failure mechanism and optimization of gap was discussed in order to explain the tensile-shear strength evaluation on heat element gap at resistance welding. Orthogonal array was used by fractional factorial design for efficient experiments.

  • Experimental analysis was carried out to understand the fatigue phenomena of different thickness stainless steel overlap joining structure by Nd:YAG laser welding. The fatigue life was obtained through fatigue tests with the various levels of applied load. The fatigue life is related with the parameters such as gap condition and penetration depth through experiment. As the results, tensile and fatigue strength were proportional in heat input level and bead width was identified the major factor for joining strength. Also the fatigue life were decreased depend on gap condition, it was more affected at the low load level.

  • The butt and lap configurational friction stir welding of type 304 stainless steel was conducted in this study. The sound joints were obtained by WC tool. As the welding distance increased, tool deformation gradually increased at the pin edge. The discoloration by oxidation was observed at the top surface of the joint, a sufficient heat-input was required to avoid the welding defect owing to the lack of stirring at the welding start point. Very fine grains were observed in the stir zone, and the grain coarsening was not observed in the heat affected zone.

  • The transformer core using amorphous Fe-B-Si ribbon were designed by magnetostatic software. The basic model of core is Butt-Lap-Step type, non-culled typo and stair type core joint. And the variables are the number of ribbons for on step, flux density and core shape.
