사고발성법과 언어분석을 활용한 TV 홈쇼핑 광고의 효과측정 연구 (A Study on the Effectiveness Measurement of TV Home Shopping Advertising Using think aloud and linguistic Analysis)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 TV홈쇼핑 광고를 시청하는 동안 일어나는 심리적 반응을 언어적 형태로 수집하고, 수집된 언어자료를 분석하여 광고효과의 측정 가능성을 탐색하는 것이다. 이를 위해 주부와 여자 대학생 40명을 대상으로 긍정평가 광고와 부정평가 광고를 시청하는 동안 나타난 심리적 반응을 사고발성법을 이용하여 언어자료의 형태로 수집하고, 자기보고식 측정으로 광고효과변인들과 광고반응 변인들을 측정하였다. 수집된 언어자료를 KLIWC를 이용하여 분석하여 긍부정평가 광고 간의 차이와 자기보고식 변인들 간의 상관을 살펴보았다. 검증결과, 긍정평가 광고와 부정평가 광고 간에 심리사회학적 변인뿐만 아니라 언어학적 변인에서도 차이가 나타났다. 또한 KLIWC의 다양한 변인들과 광고효과 변인들(구매자극도, 광고태도, 제품태도, 구매의도) 그리고 광고반응 변인들 간에 상관이 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 사고발성법과 KLIWC의 언어분석을 이용하여 TV홈쇼핑 광고 효과를 측정할 수 있는 가능성과 심리적 반응 프로파일을 구성할 수 있는 가능성을 시사하여 준다.

평생교육에 대한 중년과 노년 영어 학습자의 태도와 인식 연구 (A Study on the Attitudes and Perception of Middle-aged and Elderly English Learners in Lifelong Education)

  • 본 연구는 지속적으로 증가하고 있는 40대 이상의 영어 학습자를 대상으로 중년과 노년으로 구분하여 평생 교육에 대한 연령 집단별 태도와 인식을 조사하였다. 이를 위해 2020년 5월 20일부터 2021년 6월 30일까지 경북 지역에 소재한 평생교육기관에서 연구 참가자 80명을 대상으로 인구통계학적 특성 및 영어 학습에 대한 흥미, 필요성, 열정, 이점, 저해요인, 학습동기, 선호하는 과목과 학습방법을 설문조사하였다. 그 결과, 노년 학습자들이 중년 학습자들에 비해 보다 긍정적인 영어 학습 태도를 보였고, 학습동기와 선호하는 과목에서는 두 그룹 모두 의사소통 영역을 중요하게 여기는 것으로 나타났다. 영어 학습에 대한 저해요인으로는 영어에 대한 자신감 부족과 함께 연령에 따라 상이한 어려움이 조사되었고 선호하는 학습법에서도 차이를 보였다. 본 연구는 노년 학습자의 긍정적인 학습 태도에 따른 학습 성과의 가능성을 제시하였고 연령에 따른 세분화된 영어 프로그램 설계의 필요성을 시사하고 있다.

성경에 기초한 유아 언어 교육 활동 개발을 통한 기독 예비 유아 교사의 변화 (The Change of Christian Pre-Service Early Childhood Teachers through Development of Bible-Based Early Childhood Language Education Activities)

  • 본 연구는 성경에 기초한 유아 언어 교육 활동 개발을 통한 기독 예비 유아교사의 변화를 탐구하여 기독유아교육의 언어교육 개발 방향을 모색하는데 목적이 있다. 유아 언어 교육의 세부 주제인 '성경에 기초한 유아 언어 교육 활동 개발'에 참여한 기독교교육과 학생 19명을 대상으로 2018년 9월 3일 ~ 12월 28일 동안 면담, 설문조사, 활동계획안, 성찰이 담긴 포트폴리오 등을 통해 자료를 수집하였다. 수집된 자료를 분석하여 핵심 범주를 도출하고 이를 범주화 하였다. 자료 분석 및 해석의 객관화를 위해 신학 및 유아교육 전문가 2인의 동료 확인을 거쳤다. 연구 결과, 성경에 기초한 유아 언어 교육 활동 개발에 대한 기독 예비 유아교사 경험은 인지적 변화, 인성적 변화, 실천적 변화로 범주화하였다. 첫째, 성경에 기초한 유아 언어 교육 활동을 개발하면서 기독 예비 유아교사는 유아 언어교육의 발달적 성취와 결과보다는 '언어교육활동의 과정'의 인지적 변화를 경험하였다. 또한, 유아 언어 교육 영역의 분리가 아닌 '듣기-말하기-읽기-쓰기의 통합'의 필요성을 인식하였다. 기독 예비 유아교사는 교사중심의 형식적 언어교육과 더불어 '유치원 생활 속의 비형식 언어교육'의 중요성을 인식하였고, 유아 언어 교육의 효과성 검증보다는 '유아 중심의 의미 있는 언어교육 경험'이 중요하다는 인지적 변화가 이루어졌다. 둘째, 성경에 기초한 유아 언어 교육 활동을 개발하면서 기독 예비 유아 교사는 '자신감 있는 교사', '전문성 있는 교사', '반성적 사고와 태도를 가진 교사'로서 인성적 변화를 나타났다. 마지막으로 성경에 기초한 유아 언어 교육 활동을 개발하면서 기독 예비 유아 교사는 '긍정 언어의 힘'을 인식하였고, '바른 언어 사용 습관' 형성과 '기독교 교육과 유아교육 연계'를 위해 노력하는 실천적 변화가 있었다. 성경에 기초한 유아 언어교육 활동 개발을 통해 기독 예비 유아교사는 예측할 수 없는 교육 상황과 빠르게 변화하는 교육 현실 속에서 유아를 위한 진정한 유아 교사가 되기 위한 마음 자세와 교사로서 요구되는 열정의 자질을 함양하게 되어 교사 효능감이 증진되었다. 향후, 기독교교육과 유아교육이 연계된 다양한 교사 교육 프로그램이 지속적이고 체계적으로 이루어지길 기대한다.

한국적인 맛 관련 소비자 식태도 성향 분류 척도 개발 (Developing an Attitude Scale for Korean Style Flavors)

  • The consumer acceptance of food is not only affected by the sensory characteristics of food but also by the non-food factors, including food experience, consumption frequency, and food attitudes. Therefore, food attitude scales such as the food neophobic scale, VARSEEK scale, Dutch restrained eating scale, health taste attitude scale, etc. have been developed and effectively used to predict consumer liking and behaviors. Since the globalization of Korean food is currently one of the hottest topics in the Korean food industry, the aim of this study was to identify the tastes and flavors that may represent Korean cuisine. Additionally, an attitudinal scale for Korean taste and flavors was developed, which can then be utilized to predict a consumer's liking of Korean food. In the first stage of the experiment, the representative taste and flavors of Korean cuisine was surveyed by a Korean culinary expert group (n=23) and general consumers (n=62). As a result of these surveys, 4 types of flavors, hot pepper flavor, 'goso' flavor, garlic flavor, and fermented flavor were shown to be the most representative flavors of Korean cuisine. Based on these results, the second stage of the experiment was carried out to develop an attitudinal scale for Korean style flavors. Eleven to 17 questionnaires were developed for each of the 4 types of flavors. The survey consisted of a total of 53 questionnaires and 154 female consumers and 158 male consumers participated in the survey. The data was analyzed by factor analysis. For each type of flavor, the final attitudinal questionnaires were selected based on the following criteria: 1. high absolute factor loading value, 2. carrying clear meaning of the corresponding flavor attitude, and 3. delivering the meaning sufficiently when translated into other language. The final Korean style flavor attitude scale consisted of 7 hot pepper flavor, 6 'goso' flavor, 6 garlic flavor, and 7 fermented flavor questionnaires. In the next step of this study, experiments will be carried out to validate the Korean style flavor attitude scale.

The Role of Evaluative Language in News Translation : Focusing on Soft and Hard News

  • In the digital era, news consumption is not confined in geological boundaries. Technological advances bring the instant dissemination of news into life and allow news audience to consume events that occur far away almost in real time. The transmission has blurred the boundary between traditional media and new media, and the one between physical and virtual world. That is, what if a journalist applies news framing to the news translation process? This paper aims to investigate the gap between the ST and the TT created when the source news texts undergo a translation process. To achieve this aim, the appraisal theory developed by White (2003) is employed to identify a difference between the ST and the TT. Furthermore, we have attempted to identify differences between soft news stories and hard news stories while the STs from both news stories are translated into the TTs. Two time-sensitive events, Hugh Grant's marriage and a U.S. and North Korea summit, were selected. The former (a soft news story) is extracted from the Telegraph and the latter (a hard news story) is from the Washington post. As a result, it was found that such strategies as attitude, engagement, and judgment were used when the source news texts from the hard news story are translated into the target news texts. Under the appraisal theory, the strategies involve evaluative language which refers to positive or negative language that judges the worth of entities. In general, it is said that a journalist frames the SS (especially from the hard news story) to convey his ideology to news consumers. Hypothetically, we assume that a similar framing process takes place in deriving the TT from the SS of the hard news story. Thus, we could conclude that the TT from the hard news story differs from the TT from the soft news story and that the difference can be explained within the framework of White's appraisal theory.

일부 대학생들의 노인에 대한 지식과 태도 및 행동에 관한 연구 (A study on the knowledges, attitudes and behaviors of some university students about the old)

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study is to provide the basic data for searching for the method to induce more positive knowledges and attitudes about the old from the university students majoring in dental hygienics, health and social welfare university students majoring in the old, who will face the change of aging society directly. Methods : The study selected 1 school in Busan and Daegu respectively with convenience sampling from September 2010 to October 2010, performed questionnaire(self administered questionnaire) to 401 students majoring in dental hygienics, health and social welfare and achieved following conclusions. Results : 1. When the students without the education experience about the old have negative experiences, the degree of interest in the old was high and when they have positive experiences, the attitude score about the old was high(p<0.001). 2. For education experience about the old, the students majoring in dental hygienics have the lowest experiences(p<0.001). 3. For knowledge, attitude and behavior about the old depending on major, the students majoring in social welfare have the highest interest and for the knowledge about the old in physical area, the students majoring in health have the highest knowledge(p<0.01).4. The area related with the knowledge about the old showed significant correlation in all of physical, psychological and social area(p<0.001). 5. The factors giving effects to the attitude about the old were gender(p=.006), experience(p=.003) and education experience related with the old(p=.022) and the factors giving effects to the behavior about the old were experience(p=.036) and attitude about the old(p=.000). Conclusions : It is necessary to develop actual education program that can provide preliminary dental hygienists with positive attitude about the old and reflect a lot of matters related with psychological area and social area about the old. In addition, it is necessary to establish the opportunity to understand the old through voluntary service activity related with the old in connection with local community. It is necessary to recognize the old positively by showing the positive figure.

소비자의 악성불평행동 분석 및 기업의 대처행동 조사 연구 (An Analysis of Consumers' Problematic Complaining Behaviors and Firms' Reactions)

  • This study analyzed consumer's harsh complaining behaviors and firm's reactions toward consumers' harsh complaining behavior, and investigated the differences in the firms' reactions according to the characteristics of counselors and customer service centers. In addition, this study attempted to find a strategy and provide guidance regarding consumer's harsh complaining behaviors. The results of this study are discussed below. First, consumer's harsh complaining attitudes were expressed by crude language, violent language, threats, personal attacks, and claims of a high-ranking social position. Consumer's directive, complaining behaviors were repeated on the telephone, and threats of prosecution or disclosure to the public, exposure of habitual product returns, and requests for interviews with superiorsat the representative firm were made. Second, a firm typologies according to its reaction style toward a consumer's harsh complaining behaviors were as follows: Group 1, having a neutral attitude toward consumers and preparation thoroughly regarding their demands; Group 2, having a negative attitude toward consumers and some degree of preparation toward consumers' demands; and finally, Group 3, having a positive attitude toward consumers but offering insufficient reparation regarding consumers' demands. Third, female counselors, counselors having a certified counselor's license, and those much experience working in labor work were more likely to be in Group 3. Male counselors, part-time counselors, and those having experience of many years were more likely to be in Group 2. Group 1 were more likely to have large number of workers at customer service centers, male counselors, and to have large numbers of educational training programs related to the reactions of consumers in the form of dissatisfaction, complaints, how to offer compensation for injuries to consumers, and issues related to PL(product liability). In addition, Group 1 also had more firm level welfare policies related to hight stress levels of consumer counselors and extra types of support regarding harsh consumers. However, Group 2 members were more likely to provide excessive compensation and rewards to harsh consumers. Finally, to react to consumer's harsh complaint efficiently, it was suggested that firms should not treat consumers as harsh consumers, should react to consumers' complaints sincerely, and should take precautionary management efforts as regards consumer dissatisfaction based on better quality control of products. In addition, it was deemed necessary to formulate a management strategy to train competent consumer counselors with a high quality of counselor skill, having standardized and consistent reaction guidance toward consumer complaints and thorough knowledge of compensation rules for consumer injuries and subsequent guidance.

교사-학생간의 홈페이지를 활용한 자기주도적 학습의 효과 (The effects of self-directed learning through homepage for English reading class)

  • This study aims to investigate the effects of the implementation of self-directed learning through the homepage between the teacher and the students for English reading classes. The study focuses on the questions of whether the self-directed learning through the homepage, compared to the teacher-centered learning, would enable a significantly positive change in the students' achievements and of what their responses to this new learning method are. 72 students were grouped into an experimental and a control group, and then each group was subdivided into three levels (high, medium, low) of proficiency. Findings demonstrate that the experimental group showed statistically more significant increases in their scores of reading proficiency test than the control group. For the question of students' responses to the learning experience, the three groups within the experimental group responded to a questionnaire survey with regard to the positive attitude of learning, the effectiveness of self-directed learning and its learning materials, and usability of the homepage. In general, the experimental group considered the experience satisfactory, although the degree of positive responses varied according to the proficiency level of the group. This suggests the importance and effectiveness of self-directed learning using the computer and internet as a supplementary learning tool.

환경의미 분석을 위한 기호학적 접근방법 연구 (A Study on the Method of Semiotic Approach on Environmental Meaning)

  • Architectual environment in this study means a language and meaning complex which makes communication between human beings and environment possible. The purpose of this study is to propose a semiotic approach to analyze and examine meaning, as a semiotic system, and its effects, focusing on the generative meaning in the relationship between human beings and environment. For this purpose, it examines the academic status of modern semiotics in postmodernism and the possibility of its being metalanguatge for a study of a variety of cultural phenomena and desigv. It also provides two viewpoints as propositions for its analysis: it explains the necessity of environmental-discoursive attitude and social-semiotic viewpoint which understands environment as social-cultural reflectors. Finally, it provides framework and all the interpretative procedures for analysis of environmental meanings on the basis of the approach of semiotics of space. By applying the methods proposed this study to the case studies, it also proves validity of this approach and the potentialities of the application of semiotics. This study emphasizes not only denotative configuration of the architectural environment but also its connotative meanings. It maintains that designers, architects, and theorists should realize correctly today's changed value system and social and aesthetic paradigms. It also stresses the necessity of development of the new architectural language and meaning system.

코퍼스를 기반으로 한 어휘 과제가 고등학생의 영어 어휘 학습과 태도에 미치는 영향 (The effects of corpus-based vocabulary tasks on high school students' English vocabulary learning and attitude)

  • This study investigates the effects of corpus-based vocabulary tasks on the acquisition of English vocabulary in an attempt to explore the influence of corpus use on EFL pedagogy. For this to be realized, a total of 40 Korean high school students participated in the study over a 4-week period. An experimental group used a set of corpus-based tasks for vocabulary learning, whereas a control group carried out a traditional task (i.e., the L1-L2 translation) for vocabulary learning. To assess learning gains, the students were asked to complete the pre- and post-treatment tests measuring the word form, meaning, and use aspects of target lexical items. Results of the study indicate that in the experimental group the corpus-based vocabulary tasks were beneficial for the learning of word forms and use. In particular, corpus-based benefits were greatest in the low-proficiency EFL learners' collocational aspects of vocabulary use. On the other hand, in the control group, the traditional vocabulary tasks benefited the meaning aspects of target vocabulary items the most. In addition, survey results revealed that most students were positive about the corpus-based learning experience although some expressed reservations about the heavy cognitive load and the time-consuming nature of the analysis of corpus data primarily due to learners' lack of language proficiency.
