  • This study is to analyze establishment status and planning characteristics of the landscape master plan of 22 cities and counties in Jeollanam-do, Korea. The landscape master plans have been established in 19 cities and counties and among them they were established in 11 cities and counties before 2010. They tend to be made in city governments earlier than county governments. Community visions are implied with four meanings, 'landscape ecological', 'administrative economic', 'historical cultural', 'abstraction sensitive' in expression. For setting zones, axises, and bases of landscapes, characteristics of each landscape zone are emphasized with unification and connectivity of axises and bases of landscapes as one unit to local governments. Proposal of design principle or guideline of landscape by elements tend to be higher than landscape types. Locational characteristics of local governments have influenced to landscape types and characteristics of natural environments have been strongly reflected in landscape plan in particular.

  • The Fallingwater, one of Wright's best designs, is known as a good example of "Organic Architecture". Its landscape characteristics are harmonious relationship between architecture and landscape, adaptable siting, composition of spatial and visual structure, floating spaceness, interlocking of water and house, dramatic approach, and vernacular material use. This characteristics had begun from the Prairie architecture, but also had influenced by the culture and art of the Far East. He was open to foreign cultures. Staying in Japan for years, he had travelled China, too. In this process, he might be exposed to Korean art and culture which were under Japan at that time. Comparing the front image of the Songkwang Temple to that of the Fallingwater, their compositions between architecture, water, and landscape are so similar to each other. They are also close to each other in terms of spatial structure. Therefore the landscape characteristics found in the Fallingwater design are more similar to Korean landscape architectural characteristics than Japanese ones. Therefore we are going to suggest the hypothesis that Wright is influenced by Korean landscape design in the design of the Fallingwater. Considering his impact upon the design world, it will be significant if the concept of Korean traditional landscape design is placed behind his design of the great architecture.hitecture.

The Image and Preference Comparison between 'Opened Landscape' and 'Filtered Landscape' - Focused on With and Without Parallax Effect - ('열린경관'과 '가려진경관'의 이미지와 선호도 비교 - 패럴랙스(Parallax) 효과 유무를 중심으로 -)

  • The purpose of this study is not only to compare between 'Opened Landscape' and 'Filtered Landscape' image and preference but also to suggests a guide line of planting design for progressive realization. For this, the image structures of photo-sketch simulation for parallax landscape have been investigated by Semantic Differential scale(S.D. scale) and the Factor analysis. The results could be summarized as follows. The results of S.D. scale values for landscape through parallax were greater than non-parallax landscape. The scenes through parallax were better preferred to direct view. Thus the results of photo-sketch simulation test support the expected hypothesis that the visual environment of complexity and variety is closely correlated with the parallax effect and monotonous or non-parallax environment, and parallax effect on close view more bigger than the distant view. Factors covering the spatial image of parallax landscape were found to be seven and Total values were 60.35 %. The most important factors determining the parallax effect were Factors I 'depth of space' and VI 'expectation of space and interest'. An outstanding view must be handled properly to be preserved or accentuated. In this sense, the parallax spatial beauty with tree could be improved through the visual aspects of plan arrangements and the progressive realization appeared to be one effective design technique for landscape planning and design.

  • Recently the concerns of landscape resources were on the increase about the landscape of control and landscape design. In order to this, purpose of this paper is to develop architectural landscape design data of individual house in Gangwon Provinces. The type of landscape in Donghae seaside consist of three; Road, Mountain, Seaside. And the type of images about individual housing are three; Western, Traditional, Modern. This research is analyzed 18-simulation scenes, factor analysis is used for the SPSS. The results of this study are as follows. First, the housing of western style do not correspond with landscape of Road, but landscape of mountain and seaside were suitable to the western style. Second, mountain in Donghae seaside harmonizes with housing of traditional style. Third, even though the housing of modern style were marked low assessment in three landscape, we found out relation, modern housing was well-matched load landscape. Finally, to improve of landscape housing, which will serve as systematic approach with association of clients, constructors, designers and public service personnel.

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest optimum level of the Ratio of Greenery within the frame of vision in the interior landscape design through the analysis of visual character and preference of the interior landscape. The concept of the RG was defined as the ratio of projected area of plants higher than 1.2M against background wall from eye level. 5 photography of Interior landscape space -- 10,20,30,40 and 50% of the RG-- were constructed by computer graphic techinques. Likert scale and semantic differential scale were used to analyse visual character and preference of the interior landscape space. The analysis results are as follows : 1. Factors that compose of the image of the interior landscape have been found to be the "evaluation ", "complexity". The mean value of semantic differential scale showed a significant difference according to RG. When the RG was 20~30%, "Harmony" and "stability" was strongly recognized than the other factors and the interior landscape made the interior space natural and intimate. But at the RG 40!50%, users felt "stuffy" and "too complex" by many plants, so it was not efficient the Interior Landscape. 2. The visual preference was significantly different according to RG. The mean value of the visual preference was increased as the RG was higher, it was the highest at the RG 30%. But over the RG 30%, the preference level was declined. 3. Based on these results, this study suggests that the optimum level of RG in the Interior Landscape is 30%.at the optimum level of RG in the Interior Landscape is 30%.

  • The Eight Scenery, as a traditional landscape to today, gradually caught the concern of landscape scholars, as well became the mutual cultural wealth of South Korea, China and Japan even of the whole Asia. The Yanjing Eight Scenery firstly originated from the Jin dynasty is an important representation of Eight Scenery culture in Scenic Spots and Historical Sites of China. The transition process of Yanjing Eight Scenery is examined in this thesis, and the cause of such change is also analyzed. Moreover, the landscape content of Yanjing Eight Scenery is classified in detail, and the succession of the landscape architecture of the Yanjing Eight Scenery style under the traditional culture is analyzed from the aspects of rebuilding pavilion, landscape arrangement, building, and new landscape architecture rebuilt followed the religious, the plant landscape and the traditional culture based on the classification. Beijing regional culture has influenced Yanjing Eight Scenery by its classification, the landscape evaluation, and the analysis of the landscape feature, in addition, this paper searches for the model to research the Eight Scenery culture in each country of Asia.

  • The background of this study is to provide meaning of landscape history and to find out landscape origines which were strongly concerned with the nature through breaking out the form of conventional adapting elements from an exterior. And the purpose of this study is to review Brown's philosophy as picturesque landscape architectur and to provide useful Brown's characteristics to contemporary landscape by epitomizing his design elements. Brown estiablished a foundation of the English landscape garden of the eighteenth century. And the concept, the beauty of nature, is considered as a beginning point of modernism study. The study of the Brownian style as profoundity theme is conversion view to the development of the history of garden. These days, the restoration of the Brownian style at the public or garden design in England is based on the nature recourse of the original character of human. And also his style can be understood to seek the progressive transformation as to perfectly known the possibility of the place, to get clues to the solutions, and to be able to iprove the quality of environment. Therefore, Brown's efforts for seeding the essence of landscape architecture escaping from Englands old-fashioned landscape design skills might be considered in high worth.
