  • Initial attitude error is one of the large error sources in the navigation errors of SDINS. And it is important to decide the initial attitude of SDINS. The method, like a self-alignment or a transfer alignment method, is required to a precise INS. If we do not have a precise INS, we should get large attitude error. After performing the initial alignment, a vehicle has the initial attitude error. Therefore, it results in navigation error due to the initial attitude error. But, if we use position information during flight, we could estimate and compensate a vehicle attitude error. So, we can maintain a precise attitude in spite of existing the initial attitude error.   • The Korean railway standards (KRS), formerly managed by Korea Railroad (Korail), have been managed by the Korean Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs (ML TM). According to Korean railway safety law and its ordinances, which were established for the guarantee of railway safety, the management of KRS including enactment and revision of technical standards for railway vehicle and components, was committed to Korea Railroad Research Institute (KRRI). Currently, a total of 195 standards has been managed from the various railway applications including track, electrical, and vehicle areas. Moreover, according to the guideline on the management of KRS, the conformity of KRS with international standards is encouraged for the enlargement of international trade. In this investigation, a brief management activity of KRS and the recent activities on conformity of KRS with AAR standards on automatic coupler will be introduced.

공개데이터 도로구간 정보를 활용한 무인지상차량의 전역경로 생성 방법 (A Method for Creating Global Routes for Unmanned Ground Vehicles Using Open Data Road Section Data)

  • In this paper, we propose a method for generating a global path for an unmanned vehicle using public data of road section information. First, the method of analyzing road section information of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport is presented. Second, we propose a method of preprocessing the acquired road section information and processing it into meaningful data that can be used for global routes. Third, we present a method for generating a global path using the preprocessed road section information. The proposed method has proven its effectiveness through actual autonomous driving experiments of unmanned ground vehicles.

자동 자기 왜곡보정 방위센서 개발 (Development of Auto-Tuning Geomagnetic Compass)

  • The need for position information in agriculture is gradually increasing for precise control farm vehicle and effective manage farm land. Though geomagnetic sensor has a lot of merits in estimating heading angle of vehicle because of low costs and sensing ability of magnetic north, it is easy that sensor outputs are distorted in electro magnetic field environment. This study was conducted to develop geomagnetic compass which could be available in measuring relative position from reference point correcting output distorted by external electro magnetic field in a small scale field. Magnetic inducing sensor (PNI's Vector2X) which wound enamel coated copper coil on ferrite core in order to measure and correct earth magnetic field. Magnetic azimuth was corrected using the algorithm which estimated amount of magnetic distortion from the difference between each outputs of magnetic sensors that located on the cross shaped base. Developed auto-tuning magnetic sensor was showed less then 5% as bearing accuracy in the strong magnetic field.

  • This paper presents a 3D carrier-smoothed GNSS/DR (Global Navigation Satellite System/Dead Reckoning) integrated system for precise ground-vehicle trajectory estimation. For precise DR navigation on sloping roads, the AHRS (Attitude Heading Reference System) methodology is employed. By combining the integrated carrier phase of GNSS and DR sensor measurements, a vehicle trajectory with an accuracy of less than 20cm is obtained even when cycle slip or change of visibility occur. In order to supplement the weak GNSS environment with DR successfully, the DR sensor is precisely compensated for using GNSS Doppler measurements when GNSS visibility is good. By integrating a multi-GNSS receiver with low-cost IMU, a precise 3D navigation system for land vehicles is proposed in this paper. For real-time implementation, a decoupled Kalman filter is employed in the integrated system. Through field experiments, the performance of the proposed system is verified in various road environments, including sloping roads, good-visibility areas, high multi-path areas, and under-ground parking areas.

전기자동차 운행을 위한 태양광발전소 수요 예측 (Prediction of Demand for Photovoltaic Power Plants for Electric Vehicle Operation)

  • Currently, various policies regarding ecofriendly vehicles are being proposed to reduce carbon emissions. In this study, the required areas for charging electric vehicle (EV) batteries using electricity produced by photovoltaic (PV) power plants were estimated. First, approximately 2.4 million battery EVs, which represented 10% of the total number of vehicles, consume approximately 404 GWh. Second, the power required for charging batteries is approximately 0.3 GW, and the site area of the PV power plant is 4.62 ㎢, which accounts for 0.005% of the national territory. Third, from the available sites of buildings based on the region, Jeju alone consumes approximately 0.2%, while the rest of the region requires approximately 0.1%. Fourth, Seoul, which has the smallest available area of mountains and farmlands, utilizes 0.34% of the site for PV power plants, while the other parts of the region use less than 0.1%. The results of this study confirmed that the area of the PV power plant site for producing battery-charging power generated through the supply of EVs is very small. Therefore, it is desirable to analyze and implement more specific plans, such as efficient land use, forest damage minimization, and safe maintenance, to expand renewable energy, including PV power.

YOLOv5에서 자동차 번호판 및 문자 정렬 알고리즘에 관한 연구 (A Study on Vehicle License Plates and Character Sorting Algorithms in YOLOv5)

  • In this paper, we propose a sorting method for extracting accurate license plate information, which is currently used in Korea, after detecting objects using YOLO. We propose sorting methods for the five types of vehicle license plates managed by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport by classifying the plates with the number of lines, Korean characters, and numbers. The results of experiments with 5 license plates show that the proposed algorithm identifies all license plate types and information by focusing on the object with high reliability score in the result label file presented by YOLO and deleting unnecessary object information. The proposed method will be applicable to all systems that recognize license plates.

무인항공기를 활용한 금강 하도내의 퇴적지형 변화 특성 연구: 공주보 개방 전·후를 중심으로 (A Study on the Characteristics of Depositional Landform Change in the Geum River Channel Using Unmanned Aerial Vehicle: Focusing on Before and After the Opening Gate of Gongju Weir)

  • In this study is aerial photos and UAV(Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) images were used to analyzed the characteristics of depositional landform changes in the Geum river channels before and after the opening gate of Gongju weir. Based on the depositional landform classification result, the main stream and the bare land occupied most of the area in all periods, and also found that the main stream, mid-channel island, and sand bar occupied a greater degree of area increase or decrease compared to other landforms in the classification items. As a result of analyzing the characteristics of depositional landform changes before and after the opening gate of Gongju weir, it is judged that the depositional landforms have changed due to the decreased water level of the Geum river after the opening of the weir, the summer rainy season and typhoons, river stabilization after the effluence of Daecheong dam, supply and deposition of river sediments and fixation of vegetation. The results derived from this study can be used as basic data for the study of river depositional landforms and the establishment of management and conservation plans for the landforms in river channels.

  • In this paper a modeling paradigm is described for answering the following questions: What would be the economic impact A, the social impact B, the demographic impact C, the land-use impact D, the environmental impact E and the user benefit F, over geographic scale G for a transport investment H at time T. The paradigm is illustrated for two ITS technologies: Advanced Transportation Management System (ATMS)and Advanced Vehicle Control Systems (AVCS).

  • In this paper, a zero-velocity update technique to improve navigation accuracy of a SDINS(Strapdown Inertial Navigation System) has been studied. An indirect feedback Kalman filter which includes SDINS error equations based on a quaternion between body-fixed frame and local level navigation frame is employed for processing zero-velocity updates in an on-board navigation filter. Simulation results for land-mobile vehicle show that the zerovelocity update technique make a significant contribution to improving SDINS performance without any external aids.
