  • Purpose The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of learning expectation and perceived knowledge sharing on user satisfaction and IS continuance in the Korean Army which is currently using the Regiments' Information System to help their Integrated Administration Management. Based on both the Information System(IS) Continuance Model and IS Success Model, this study also examine the role of system quality on user satisfaction. We develop a research model(structural equation model) and its hypotheses that learning expectation, perceived knowledge sharing, and system quality increase users' satisfaction, which leads to IS continuance. The effect of learning expectation on perceived knowledge sharing is also hypothesized. Design/methodology/approach Online Survey using e-mails was administered to test our research model and associated hypotheses. Among the 360 e-mail letters including our survey questionnaire, 285 responses were collected via e-mails. Meaningful 225 cases were analyzed for our study. SPSS Statistics 24.0 and SmartPLS 3.0 were used to analyze both measuremant test and hyotheses test by using the data set. Findings Survey results show that learning expectation(confirmation variable), learning expectation, perceived knowledge sharing(a perceived usefulness variable), and system quality(a system characteristic) each increases user satisfaction, which leads to IS continuance, under the control of the effect of habit to use information systems. Learning expectation also has a positive influence on perceived knowledge sharing. Theoretical and practical implications are presented.

  • Diverse requirements of users on web-based model management force a system agent to develop user-adaptive building a model in reality and providing an adequate solution method of the model. The relationship between models is important knowledge for the agent to effectively build a new model to adaptively adjust an existing model under a problem and to efficiently connect the new model into an adequate solution method. Since the generating process of the inter-model relationship is more difficult than the building a new model however the process mostly depends on the knowledge of operation research experts. Without the adequate scheme of the inter-model relationship the burden of the management for the agent increases rapidly and the quality of the services may worsen. This study shows that meta-knowledge generated from relationship between models is important for the user to build a model in reality and to acquire the solver appropriate to the model. The relationship that consists of common and exclusive objects between models can be represented by frames. The system under development to implement the idea includes user-adaptive ability which identifies a model through forward chaining method and searches the solver appropriate to the model by using the meta knowledge. We illustrate the meta knowledge with an applied delivery system in supply chain management.

  • Expert system implementation of human expert's diagnosis in art psychotherapy requires extensive knowledge on: (1) characteristics in a drawing; (2) psychological symptoms in a client; (3) relationships between the characteristics and the symptoms; (4) decision process; (5) knowledge elicitation and aquisition methods. Experts from many different fields provide such knowledge, ranging from art therapists who is on the spot, psychiatrists, psychologists, artists to knowledge engineers who know how to implement the decision system to a computer. The problems that make the implementation difficult are the expert's complex decision process and the ambiguity, the inconsistency and even the contradiction in the huge volume of the knowledge. Modeling the expert's decision process, we develope a framework of the system and then analyze and classify the knowledge. With the proposed classification, we present a suitable method of knowledge elicitation and aquisition. Then, we describe the subsets of knowledge in a unified structure using the ontology concept and Protege 2000 as a tool. Finally, we apply the system to a real case to show its usability and suitability.

  • The task for chromosome analysis and diagnosis by experienced cytogenetists are being concerned as repetitive, time consuming job and expensive. FOr that reason, chromosome analysis system based on knowledge base for CAI had been established to be able to analyze chromosomes and obtain necessary advises from the knowledge base instead of human experts. That s to say, knowledge base by IF THEN production rule was implemented to a knowledge domain with normal and abnormal chromosomes, and then the inference results by knowledge base could enter the inference data into the database. Experimental data were composed of normal chromosome of 2,736 patients'cases and abnormal chromosomes of 259 patients'cases that have been obtained from GTG-banding metaphase peripheral blood and amniotic fluid samples. The complete system provides variously morphological information by analysis of normal or abnormal chromosomes and it also has the advantage of being able to consult with user on chromosome analysis and diagnosis.
