굽힘 및 피어싱 공정을 갖는 불규칙형상 제품의 프로그레시브 가공을 위한 네스팅 및 공정설계 자동화 시스템 (An Automated Nesting and Process Planning System of Irregularly Shaped-Sheet Metal Product With Bending and Piercing Operation for Progressive Working)

  • This paper describes a research work of developing a computer-aided design of irregularly shaped-sheet metal product with bending and piercing operation for progressive working. An approach to the CAD system is based on the knowledge-based rules. Knowledge for the CAD system is formulated from plasticity theories, experimental results and the empirical knowledge of field experts. The system has been written in AutoLISP on the AutoCAD with a personal computer and is composed of five main modules, which are input and shape treatment, flat pattern-layout, production feasibility check, blank-layout, and strip-layout module. Based on knowledge-based rules, the system is designed by considering several factors, such as radius and angle of bend, material and thickness of product, complexities of blank geometry and punch profile, and availability of press. This system is capable of unfolding a formed sheet metal part to give flat pattern and automatically account for the adjustment of bend allowances to match tooling requirements by checking dimensions and the best utilization ratio of blank-layout within bending production feasibility area which is beyond ${\pm}30^{\circ}$ degrees intersecting angle between grain flow and bending edge line and which is suitable to progressive bending operation. Also the strip-layout drawing generated by a bending and a piercing operation according to punch profiles divided into automatically for external area of irregularly shaped-sheet metal product is displayed in graphic forms.

  • 오랜 역사를 통해 다양한 사회적 요구와 필요에 의해 발달해온 지리지식은 (순수)학문지리지식과 학교지리지식, 응용지리지식, 대중지리지식의 영역으로 구성되어 있다. 그리고 지리지식은 이들 영역간 지식의 생산과 전달, 응용 및 적용, 재생산으로 이어지는 지식의 순환체계를 바탕으로 발전해 왔다. 따라서 한 영역에서의 지식순환의 단절은 다른 영역의 지식형성에 직접적인 영향을 주기 때문에 지리학 전체의 위기를 초래하게 된다. 그러므로 지속가능한 지리학 발전을 위해서는 (순수)학문지리에 의한 지식의 생산과 축적, 학교지리에 의한 지식의 전달, 응용지리와 대중지리에 의한 지식의 사회적 활용과 일상생활의 적용으로 이어지는 지식의 선순환체계가 확고하게 구축되어 지식의 사회적 요구와 변화에 능동적으로 대응할 수 있어야 한다.

  • This is a way of establishing the information sovereignty in the industrial knowledge of society. The occurrence of the industrial knowledge of society builds knowledge and information as digital system. Digitalized knowledge and information has some characteristics of which the information should be light and variable, so that it can be transmitted rapidly. At this moment, if information super highway is built, and the digitalized information of the advanced information country comes to us, we are to get easily information dependence unless we are ready. Nowadays, our country is accepting the knowledge and information of the advanced information countries without filtering it properly. What is the reason? This means that we are lack of traditional knowledge resourses as the foundation of digital system. This paper deals with (1) the historical reason of the lackness of the traditional knowledge resourses, (2) the aspect of the consumer culture about knowledge and information, and (3) the aspect of the production culture about the knowledge and information. In order to overcome the information dependence, in this paper, we should change both production and consumption of our knowledge and information into a new pattern, establish the seed knowledge resourses, and build libraries everywhere we can use easily. For this case study, this paper takes examples of maeul (which may mean traditional villiage in Korea.) libraries on Changwon City.

  • Recently we started a development of the digital meister expert system for the product design supporting in manufacturing industry. Knowledge representation is of major importance in digital moister expert system. This rule-based expert system-knowledges are designed for a certain type of knowledge representation such as rules or logic. The way in which a rule-based expert system represents knowledge affects the development, efficiency, speed, and maintenance. Eventually, this digital moister system is used to the engineer in manufacturing industry for the process control, production management and system management. In this paper, we propose the digital moister system knowledge representation method for product design supporting in manufacturing industry and we present introduction and contents of rule-based knowledge representation supporting tool.

  • This study intend to make easy modification, even if there is a new job or structure change, by modularizing program and computerize and automation of production control management used in CIM. under the condition where manager control production on the job-site, for increasing connection with other operation and management on the computer by monitoring center computer, recognizing information by computer is needed, it is possible by converting transaction. So this study goal is to make delivery control and order control fast and accurate by finding dynamic history of machine and production information in enterprise without input production and quality information by themselves with quality information system. So production increase and quality improvement are possible by diminishing manager's and producer's work with the result of the study combining POP and CIM, after that, in e-business and m-business period that every enterprise must pass, customer satisfaction and sales promotion are possible with employee's computerizing minds. these study result also can knowledge process condition with theoretical class and have a power in finding a solution with foundation of theoretical knowledge.

The Allocation of Inspection Efforts Using a Knowledge Based System

  • The location of inspection stations is a significant component of production systems. In this paper, a prototype expert system is designed for deciding the optimal location of inspection stations. The production system is defined as a single channel of n serial operation stations. The potential inspection station can be located after any of the operation stations. Nonconforming units are generated from a compound binomial distribution with known parameters at any given operation station. Traditionally Dynamic programming, Zero-one integer programming, or Non-linear programming techniques are used to solve this problem. However a problem with these techniques is that the computation time becomes prohibitively large when t be number of potential inspection stations are fifteen or more. An expert system has the potential to solve this problem using a rule-based system to determine the near optimal location of inspection stations. This prototype expert system is divided into a static database, a dynamic database and a knowledge base. Based on defined production systems, the sophisticated rules are generated by the simulator as a part of the knowledge base. A generate-and-test inference mechanism is utilized to search the solution space by applying appropriate symbolic and quantitative rules based on input data. The goal of the system is to determine the location of inspection stations while minimizing total cost.

Also this system can carry out a process planning which is obtained from results of irregular shape of product that was successful in production feasibility check module according to flat pattern layout and generate strip layout drawing in graphic forms. The developed system provides its efficiency for flat pattern layout, and strip layout for the irregularly shaped sheet metal products.

  • Simulation output knowledge analysis is one of problem-solving and/or knowledge adquistion process by investgating the system behavior under study through simulation . This paper describes an approach to simulation outputknowldege analysis using fuzzy neural network model. A fuzzy neral network model is designed with fuzzy setsand membership functions for variables of simulation model. The relationship between input parameters and output performances of simulation model is captured as system behavior knowlege in a fuzzy neural networkmodel by training examples form simulation exepreiments. Backpropagation learning algorithms is used to encode the knowledge. The knowledge is utilized to solve problem through simulation such as system performance prodiction and goal-directed analysis. For explicit knowledge acquisition, production rules are extracted from the implicit neural network knowledge. These rules may assit in explaining the simulation results and providing knowledge base for an expert system. This approach thus enablesboth symbolic and numeric reasoning to solve problem througth simulation . We applied this approach to the design problem of broadband communication network.
