중소 정형외과병원 간호사의 환자안전문화인식, 환자안전지식과 환자안전간호수행 (Perceptions of Patient Safety Culture, Safety Care Knowledge and Activity among Nurses at an Orthopedic Hospital)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the factors affecting the perceptions of patient safety culture, safety care knowledge, and safety care activity among nurses at orthopedic hospitals. Methods: Data were collected during Feb. 16 and Feb. 26, 2017, from 195 nurses of 9 small to medium sized orthopedic hospitals. Questionnaires about patient safety culture, safety care knowledge and activity were used. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, $Scheff\acute{e}$ test, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and stepwise multiple regression. Results: The safety care activity was positively correlated with perceptions of patient safety culture (r=.50, p<.001) and knowledge (r=.48, p<.001). Factors that had influence on the safety care activity were the patient safety culture (${\beta}=.30$, p<.001), age (${\beta}=.27$, p<.001), and knowledge of the safety activity (${\beta}=.21$, p=.004). The patient safety care activity was explained 36.6% by those factors. Conclusion: To enhance the patient safety care activity, it should be provided the environment and open communication for the perceptions of patient safety culture and the in service education program for safety care knowledge.

  • To keep enterprise's competitiveness on condition of the automatic manufacturing system such as FA, FMS and CIM, all the maintenance problems should be considered seriously in not only production and maintenance but also related industrial safety. As we analyze in the surveys for the maintenance management of domestic enterprises and the causes of Industrial accident, there will be necessity of drawing up countermeasures for prevention of industrial accidents and for ensuring expertise maintenance technologies. Based on these analyses, this study studied the safety information system, maintenance management information system, and the machinery condition diagnosis technique by using of the knowledge-based system under the internet environment. This web based knowledge-based diagnosis system can easily provide not only the knowledge of expert about deterioration phenomenon of industrial robot, but also the knowledge of relating safety and facility on everywhere, everytime. Therefore, when we use this system, it is expected to improve the efficiency of business processes in the production and safety.

  • The effectiveness of an ensuring the facility safety depends on the ability to train the worker efficiently and strategy of facility control. This requires the instructor's awareness of the worker's current knowledge, in the specific areas of the worker's lacks of knowledge, and preferred methods of training. This paper presents a development of knowledge based on CBT system which will reduce the role of instructor from the training loop and be used the high technological method such as computer animation technique.

The effect of fire-safety education on the knowledge and safety competency of college students

  • The purpose of this study was to test the effects of video-based fire safety education among college students on the students' fire safety knowledge and disaster safety awareness and competency. Improvements were found in fire safety knowledge (t = -3.24, p = 0.001), social disaster awareness (t = -2.25, p = 0.025), basic disaster awareness (t = -2.44, p = 0.015), and disaster safety capacity (t = -2.04, p = 0.043). The contents of safety-education materials should be continuously developed. Those materials should be provided to many people, and future research should test the longer-term effects of those educational interventions.

Evaluation of the food safety training for food handlers in restaurant operations

  • This study examined the extent of improvement of food safety knowledge and practices of employee through food safety training. Employee knowledge and practice for food safety were evaluated before and after the food safety training program. The training program and questionnaires for evaluating employee knowledge and practices concerning food safety, and a checklist for determining food safety performance of restaurants were developed. Data were analyzed using the SPSS program. Twelve restaurants participated in this study. We split them into two groups: the intervention group with training, and the control group without food safety training. Employee knowledge of the intervention group also showed a significant improvement in their score, increasing from 49.3 before the training to 66.6 after training. But in terms of employee practices and the sanitation performance, there were no significant increases after the training. From these results, we recommended that the more job-specific and hand-on training materials for restaurant employees should be developed and more continuous implementation of the food safety training and integration of employee appraisal program with the outcome of safety training were needed.

PRECEDE-PROCEED 모형 적용을 통한 초등학교 고학년 학교 안전교육 프로그램 중재 효과 (The Effects of a School Safety Education Program Based on the PRECEDE-PROCEED Model in Upper Grade Elementary Students)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to measure the effects of a school safety education program based on the PRECEDE-PROCEED model for upper grade elementary students. Methods: One hundred ten 6th-grade students sampled from an elementary school in D City were divided into the education group (n=55) and the non-education group (n=55). School safety education was provided to the education group for 8 weeks and a questionnaire survey about safety knowledge, safety practice and the frequency of safety negligence was carried out before and after the education from March 2 to July 13, 2010. Results: After the application of the safety education program, the education group got a higher safety knowledge score than the non-education group (p<.001). Both the education and non-education groups showed a significantly increased safety practice score (p<.01). In the comparison of safety negligence, the education group showed lower frequency (p<.01). In addition, according to the results of ANCOVA and t-test, the school safety education program influenced safety knowledge significantly (p<.001). Conclusion: This result shows that a school safety education program based on PRECEDE- PROCEED can improve safety knowledge. Further studies will be required to develop continuous and systematic safety education programs.

유아교사의 안전지식, 안전통제가 안전수행에 미치는 영향 (Safety Knowledge, Safety Control and Safety Performance in Early Childhood Teachers)

  • 본 연구는 유아교사의 안전지식, 안전통제가 안전수행에 미치는 영향을 파악하기 위한 서술적 조사연구이다. 자료 수집은 P, K, Y시에 소재한 어린이집, 유치원에서 재직하고 있는 유아교사 187명을 대상으로 2014년 10월 10일에서 10월 30일까지 진행하였다. 연구도구는 안전지식, 안전통제, 안전수행을 사용하였다. 자료 분석은 실수와 백분율, 평균 및 표준편차, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients, multiple regression analysis를 이용하였다. 대상자의 일반적 특성에 따른 안전수행은 결혼상태, 근무경력, 안전교육 도움 정도에서 유의한 차이가 있었다. 안전지식, 안전통제와 안전수행은 유의한 정적 상관관계가 있었다. 유아교사의 안전수행에 영향을 미치는 요인은 안전지식과 안전통제로 나타났으며, 설명력은 60.0% 이었다. 본 연구결과를 통해 유아교사의 안전수행을 향상시키기 위해 안전지식과 안전통제를 증진시킬 필요가 있다.

안전교육이 초등학생의 사고예방에 대한 지식 및 태도에 미치는 효과 (Effect of the Safety Education on Knowledge and Attitude about Jnjury Prevention among Elementary School Children)

  • Purpose: This study aimed at not only suggest some ideas useful in planning and doing the safety education in the elementary schools in the near future putting into test the safety education proposal which has been developed by researchers in accordance with the national 7st education courses but also improve health of the children through taking right safety knowledge and sound safety attitude. Method: For this study 140 student are selected from 3-5th grade of the elementary school in Kyoungki-Do and Kwangwon-Do and have been taught the safety education during 10weeks, 10times. Result: 1) After the safety education, knowledge about the injury prevention of the children show to be significantly different from that they had before(t=-9.156, p=.000). 2) In order to look into any effect of the attitude about injury prevention after the safety education there were significant difference(t=-3.755, p=.000). Conclusion: As the findings of the study indicating that safety education expand the correct knowledge about injury prevention and have more affirmative and sound attitude about injury prevention. So it may be concluded that, safety education have the positive effect both knowledge and attitude about injury prevention among elementary school children.

치위생과 학생의 방사선 안전관리에 대한 지식과 태도 (Knowledge and Attitude about Radiation Safety Management in Dental Hygiene Students)

  • Purpose : This study identified knowledge, attitudes and behavior for radiation safety management of dental hygiene student. And to provide basic data for the development of effective education program for safety management for radiation protection. Methods : A questionnaire survey of questionnaires was conducted on the second and third grade dental hygiene students at three - year college in 'A' area of Gyeongnam province. The questionnaire of 37 items was used to investigate knowledge and attitude about radiation protection. The collected data were analyzed using frequency analysis, mean, standard deviation, t-test, ANOVA and pearson's correlation Analysis using the SPSS 21.0 program. Result : Results obtained from this study are as follows. 1. Knowledge level of radiation safety management by general characteristics showed statistically significant difference. 2. Radiation safety education knowledge score was higher in the case of radiation safety education(t=1.660, p<.05). 3. The radiation safety management attitude score was a statistically significant difference between the groups according to 'achievement' (F=1.660, p<.001). In the case of 'radiation protection facilities', there was a statistically significant difference between groups according to the recognition of radiation protection facilities (F=6.001, p<.001). 4. As a result of investigating the relationship between radiation safety management knowledge and attitude, the higher the knowledge level of radiation safety management, the higher the attitude(p<.001). Conclusion : Therefore, radiation safety management education should be organized systematically and it is required to improve not only safety management knowledge, attitude level but also action level.

간호대학생의 환자안전에 대한 지식, 간호전문직관과 환자안전관리활동의 관련성 (The Relationship Between Knowledge of Patient Safety, Nursing Professionalism and Patient Safety Management Activities in Nursing Students)

  • Purpose: The objective of this study was to identify the relationship between knowledge of patient safety, nursing professionalism and patient safety management activities of nursing students with clinical practical experience. Methods: Self-administered questionnaires survey on knowledge of patient safety, nursing professionalism, and patient safety management activities were conducted for the $3^{rd}-year$ and $3^{th}-year$ nursing students. 139 questionnaires were distributed, of which, 131 were used for data analysis. Results: The scores of nursing students' knowledge of patient safety, nursing professionalism and patient safety management activities were $6.76{\pm}1.26$, $65.11{\pm}7.97$ and $67.99{\pm}7.26$, respectively. Knowledge of patient safety differed significantly according to the grade. Nursing professionalism had a difference with major satisfaction, clinical practical satisfaction, and experience of patient safety accident. Patient safety management activities were positively correlated (p<.01) with knowledge of patient safety and nursing professionalism. Patient safety management activities increased significantly with increase in the scores of knowledge of patient safety and nursing professionals. The factors that were related to patient safety management activities of nursing students were knowledge of patient safety and nursing professionalism. Knowledge of patient safety and nursing professionalism were selected as significant variables for explaining the patient safety management activities of nursing students, of which the coefficient of determination was 9.8%. Conclusion: To promote patient safety management activities of nursing students, training programs for patient safety management activities are required. Also, there is the need to increase the knowledge of patient safety and nursing professionalism of nursing students using various educational method.
