Main role to expand the fashion in the middle age was played by aristocracy and knight. They contributed to the fashion of the middle age regardless of aesthetic sense. First, in any age, there was a self-display design using splendid decoration or material in the costume of high-class people. Aristocracy, especially, knight in the middle age classified themselves from others by wearing the costume suitable for their statuses. Second, the Crusade knight appearing all over the cinema gathered various peoples and caused acute optic angle about specialty of costume. Therefore the trend preferring foreign costumes was changed to new fashion while it was connected to desire searching for a change. Third, although armor of knight was created because of protection in the war, in the 13th century, its character of motion and defense was emphasized and it became splendid style. More over, the costume of knight was developed to more emphasize masculine beauty with heavy upper body and light lower body so it caused sexual difference of costume in the middle age. Fourth, As knight searched effective defensive weapon, chain mail was relegated by plate armor. The order of armor that the hight wore in 1350 was as follows. First, he wears adhesive shirts, braies, hose and wears metal protector on arm and leg. He wears padded undercoat called gambeson, hauberk, plate armor and surcoat on them.

In this thesis, the connectivity between the military culture in the Middle Ages and costumes by researching the effect on the clothing in the Middle Ages of the culture of knight from the 11th century to middle of the 15th century was tried to be recognized. The culture of knight was widely divided into 4 articles - Chivalry, Tournamemt, The equipment of knight, Heraldry - and then researched. The conclusion after researching the influence of the culture of knight upon the clothing in the Middle Age in the above is as follows. Regarding the clothing, the military culture such as the crusader war, armor, and heraldry was popularized over the entire Middle Ages as the military-look style, and regarding the ornament the result of the crusader war caused the introduction of the Eastern civilization and development of the commerce and industry, and also trade, and consequently the ornament became luxurious. Regarding the footwear, when seeing the Gothic shoes, it can be found that it is similar with the knight's shoes made of the metal. As seen in the above, it can be recognized that the culture of knight caused the huge influence upon the whole politics, culture, and society in the Middle Ages as well as upon the costumes.

This explores an African American male poet, Etheridge Knight, and his poems. He died in 1991 and had been wounded in the battle field during the Korean War (1950-1953). Particularly, engaged in the war as a boy soldier, due to his wound, he had turned to a drug addict. Despite his experience in the war, Knight didn't write poems much about the war and wartime experience. Rather than war experience, for Knight, the prison gave him a strong motivation to be a poet with Gwendolyn Brooks' help. Further, Korean scholars are not familiar with contemporary African American poets, and my study is an introduction of those poets. Since in Korea researches on African American poets have been relatively rare, it is needed to sincerely work on those poets. The none-white writers, above all, penetrate the undercurrent of canonized American poets and poems. By examining Knight's poems, I eventually align a notion of the ethnic with racial minorities in the U. S.

The purpose of this study is to consider the works of Nick Knight, the most influential fashion visual maker, to find out the characteristics of his works. For the research method, literature reviews were done by studying his book, viewing the articles on his official web site, reading journal review of his works and his interview articles. For the work analysis, fashion brands 'Christian Dior', 'Alexander McQueen', 'Martin Margiela', 'Hussein Chalayan' and 'Gareth Pugh' that have worked with Nick Knight were selected. The characteristics of his fashion works were derived from overall analysis of fashion visual works. The characteristics of Nick Knight's works are as follows. First is the 'innovation of image expression'. He used digital infra in advance and introduced digital images at the initial stage. He used fashion films as the means of communication and tried new image expressions in 3D. Second is 'breaking down the boundaries of creating process'. He worked with various field experts to make high quality works. He invited the public to participate in his creative process through the internet. Third is 'breaking down the categories of aesthetic expression'. He provided a wide variety of aesthetic standard and refused aesthetic stereotype. He broke the boundaries between fashion and art with a unique technique and high values.

This paper will discuss how the structure and theme develop and compare between the Beowulf and Sir Gawain and the Green Knight. Sir Gawain and the Green Knight is generally considered as the finest of the English romances. The striking feature of this poem is its tight and organized structure, whereas most of the romances are loose in structure. This poem is composed of four fits containing traditional elements of romance: the Beheading Game; the Temptation and Hunting; the Exchange of Winnings; Returning. This process is linked together systematically, and as it goes on, certain external elements of romance come into view. There are heroic ideal, Christian humiliation and chastity, so the two themes or motifs are combined to produce a work of impressive organic unity.

Today's computers, desktops and laptops were build with multi-core architecture. Developing and running serial programs in this multi-core architecture fritters away the resources and time. Parallel programming is the only solution for proper utilization of resources available in the modern computers. The major challenge in the multi-core environment is the designing of parallel algorithm and performance analysis. This paper describes the design and performance analysis of parallel algorithm by taking the Knight Tour problem as an example using OpenMP interface. Comparison has been made with performance of serial and parallel algorithm. The comparison shows that the proposed parallel algorithm achieves good performance compared to serial algorithm.

이 글의 목적은 개봉 당시 비평과 흥행 양면에 성공한 <다크 나이트>를 통해 할리우드 슈퍼히어로를 주인공으로 한 액션 스릴러를 연출적인 관점에서 분석하고자 하는데 있다. 크리스토퍼 놀란의 <다크나이트>는 과거 슈퍼히어로 액션물의 기본적인 내러티브 원리에 충실하면서도 그 주제의 진지함과 시각적 표현력에 있어 한 단계 업그레이드된 명품 액션스릴러라고 할 수 있다. 연출 분석은 크게 내용과 형식으로 나뉜다. 내용에 있어서는, 선악의 존재론적 딜레마를 다룬 주제, 과거 배트맨 시리즈보다 깊고 강해진 캐릭터, 5막 구성, 특히 조커의 게임을 활용한 극적 구성, 그리고 다양한 아이러니와 모티프 활용이 돋보인다. 형식에 있어서는 아이맥스 카메라의 효과적인 활용, 특히 카 체이스와 격투액션 등의 액션 연출이 뛰어나다. 편집, 음악, 미술 역시 전편을 뛰어 넘는다. 이 작품이 높이 평가받을 수 있었던 가장 큰 요인은 슈퍼히어로의 액션스릴러라는 블록버스터에 철학적인 주제를 깊이 있게 담아내는데 성공했다는 점이다. 무엇보다도 오랜 역사를 거친 할리우드의 슈퍼히어로 전통과 액션 스릴러의 진화된 기술력이 정점에 이른 시점에 놀란 감독이 뛰어난 연출력이 영화적 스타일과 극적으로 조화를 이뤘기에 가능했던 것이라고 본다.

$^{13}C$ NMR (nuclear magnetic resonance) measurements have been performed to investigate the local electronic structure of a superconducting graphite intercalation compound $CaC_6$ ($T_c$ = 11.4 K). A large number of single crystals were stacked and sealed in a quartz tube for naturally abundant $^{13}C$ NMR. The spectrum, Knight shift, linewidth, and spin-lattice relaxation time $T_1$ were measured in the normal state as a function of temperature down to 80 K at 8.0 T perpendicular to the c-axis. The $^{13}C$ NMR spectrum shows a single narrow peak with a very small Knight shift. The Knight shift and the linewidth of the $^{13}C$ NMR are temperature-independent around, respectively, +0.012% and 1.2 kHz. The spin-lattice relaxation rate, $1/T_1$, is proportional to temperature confirming a Korringa behavior as for non-magnetic metals. The Korringa product is measured to be $T_1T\;=\;210\;s{\cdot}K$. From this value, the Korringa ratio is deduced to be $\xi$ = 0.73, close to unity, which suggests that the independent-electron description works well for $CaC_6$, without complications arising from correlation and many-body effects.
