Objective: The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of increase in barbell weight on closely related variable to the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury which are knee joint kinematics, joint load, joint moment, and maximum load attainment point during snatch of the weight lifting. Method: The subjects of the study were 10 male Korean national weight lifting athletes (69 kg 5, 77 kg 5; age: $21.80{\pm}3.91yrs.$, height: $168.00{\pm}4.06cm$, weight: $75.00{\pm}4.02kg$, career: $7.8{\pm}3.99yrs.$, snatch records: $168{\pm}4.06kg$). The weight of the barbell during the snatch operation was set at 70%, 75% and 80% of the highest records for each subject studied. Results: The result obtained from the one-way repeated measure ANOVA are as follows: With increased barbell weight, the extension moment of the left knee joint was higher in the 80% condition than the 70% (p<.001). However, other variables were not statistically significant difference. According to the factor analysis of the variables related to maximum load attainment point of the ACL major injury variables, the first sub-factor was the internal shear force, the posterior shear force, the abduction moment, and the muscle activity of the VL. The second sub-factor was the extension moment of the knee joint, compressive force, adduction moment, and the third sub-factor was the muscle activity of BF. Conclusion: These results indicate that the possibility of ACL injury can be lowered when performing a stable snatch movement.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the asymmetrical difference between the use of leg muscles on the surgical and non-surgical sides during initial lower extremity ergometer exercise after unilateral knee arthroplasty. Methods: Twelve elderly patients diagnosed with degenerative arthritis of the knee and who underwent unilateral arthroplasty were included in this study. The leg length of each subject was taken into account when setting the application distance of the lower extremity ergometer. The same pedal resistance, strength, and speed were used for all the subjects. The total angle of use of the ergometer (360°) was analyzed by dividing it into an extension section and a flexion section. Using a surface electromyography system, the activities of the muscles of the surgical and non-surgical sides were converted into maximal voluntary isometric contraction (MVIC) and analyzed using the paired t-test. Results: When the activities of the muscles on the surgical and non-surgical sides were compared, it was found that the rectus femoris and biceps femoris had significant differences in the flexion and extension sections (p < .05), and that the tibialis anterior significantly differed in the flexion section (p < .05). There was no significant difference in the extension section of the tibialis anterior muscle, or in the flexion and extension sections of the gastrocnemius (p >.05). Conclusion: The results of this study confirm that the rectus femoris, tibialis anterior, biceps femoris, and gastrocnemius on the surgical side act in an opposite manner to those on the non-surgical side during pedaling in the same section.
Objective : The purpose of this study was to give the basic data for the cutting movement with the various angels on the poly urethane. Method : Ten healthy men voluntarily participated in this study. A three-dimensional motion analysis system (VICON) and force plates were used to analyze the movements of the joints for the lower extremities. For the statistical analysis the IBM SPSS 21.0 was used to perform repeated measured ANOVA and post-hoc comparison result was used to perform the Scheffe and the level of significance was set up at ${\alpha}=.05$. Results : There were significant differences for the time required for the increasing angles of the cutting movement(p<.05). In addition, there were significant differences for the maximum dorsiflexion, plantarflexion of ankle joint, maximum flexion of knee joint and hip joint with the increasing the angles of cutting movement(p<.05). Also, there were significant differences for the maximum adduction and abduction angle of the hip joint with the increasing of the angles of cutting movement. There was signigicant difference for the resultant utilized coefficient of friction(RuCOF) for the increasing angles of cutting movement(p<.05). Conclusion : There was a pattern to increase the coefficient friction with the angle of cutting direction. Also, it would be possible to use the poly urethane for the outdoor floor with the results of this study.

Purpose : This study was conducted to investigate the changes in trunk movement and ground reaction during sit to stand motion using visual feedback. Methods : Fifteen adults (average age: 23.53±1.77 years) participated in this study. An infrared reflective marker was attached to the body each participant for motion analysis, and the participants performed sit to stand motion while wearing a hat attached with a laser pointer, which provided visual feedback. First, the sit to stand action was repeated thrice without obtaining any visual feedback, followed by a three minute break. Next, the laser pointers attached to hats were irradiated on a whiteboard, located at a distance of 5 m in front of the chairs, on which the participants sat; a baseline was set, and the participants performed stand up movements three times under this condition. A visual feedback was provided to the participants to prevent the laser pointers from crossing the set baseline. During each stand-up movement, the position of the reflective marker attached to the subject's body was recorded in real time using an infrared camera for motion analysis. The trunk movement and ground reaction force were extracted through recorded data and analyzed according to the presence or absence of visual feedback. Results : The results indicated that in the presence of a visual feedback during the sit-to-stand movements, the range of motion of the trunk and hip joints decreased, whereas that of the knee and ankle joints increased in the sagittal plane. The rotation angle of the trunk in the horizontal plane decreased. The left and right movement speed of the center of pressure increased, the pressing force decreased, and the forward and backward movement speed of the trunk decreased. Conclusion : The results suggest that the efficiency and stability of the stand up movement of a body increase when a visual feedback is provided.

Objective: This study aimed 1) to compare the Landing Error Scoring System (LESS) score and movement patterns during landing of the lesser dorsiflexion range of motion (LDFROM) group to that with the greater dorsiflexion range of motion group, and 2) to identify the correlation between the weight-bearing dorsiflexion range of motion (WBDF ROM), LESS score, and movement patterns during landing. Method: Fifty health adults participated in this study. WBDF ROM was measured using the weight bearing lunge test while movement patterns during landing was assessed using the LESS. The joint angles of the ankle, knee and hip joints during landing were analyzed using the 2D video analysis. After mean value of WBDF ROM was calculated, participants were divided into two groups (GDFROM and LDFROM) based on the mean value. The Mann-Whiteny 𝒰 test was used to identify differences in movement strategies during landing between two groups and the Pearson's correlation analysis was performed to determine relationships between WBDF ROM and movement strategies. Results: The LDFROM group showed the poorer LESS score and stiffer landing kinematics during landing compared to the GDFROM group (p<0.05). In addition, DFROM was significantly related to the LESS score and landing kinematics (p<0.05) except for total hip excursion (p=0.228). Conclusion: Our main findings showed that the LDFROM group had poorer landing quality and stiffer landing movements compared to the GDFROM group. In addition, increase of WBDF ROM significantly improved landing quality and soft-landing movements. To reduce shock during landing such as ground reaction forces, individuals need to better utilize WBDF ROM and lower extremity movements based on our findings. Therefore, intervention programs for safer landings should include exercises that increase WBDF ROM and utilize eccentric contraction.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the correlation between joint moment and joint position angle according to the different walking speeds. According to the different walking speeds(1.5m/s, 1.8m/s, 2.1m/s), experiments were terminated by 8 male subjects. In conclusion, 1. The peak extensor moment of knee joint increased by increasing walking speed, however, walking speed didn't have an effect on peak flexor and abductor moment of knee joint. 2. The position angle of knee joint increased movement of flexion, but other position angles of knee joint didn't have difference when the peak extensor moment generated. 3. The peak joint moment of hip significantly increased in extension, flexion and abduction by increased walking speed. 4. The hip position angle showed more flexible at the hip peak flexor/extensor moment generated. 5. The co-ordination pattern between peak knee joint moment and knee position angle were mathematically modeled by using a least square method. We could get the high level value of R2. We expect to apply this results for evaluating the physical faculty of knee joint.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the effects of knee joint injury experiences of judo players on kinematic factors and center of pressure factors during uchimata. Among right-handed male college judo players specializing in uchimata, 13 people who had a knee joint injury experience(age, 20.69.1±0.75 years; height, 172.85±4.81 cm; body mass, 74.92±5.51 kg; and career, 8.92±0.95 years) and 13 people who did not have a knee joint injury experience(age, 21.08.1±0.76 years; height, 172.54±6.32 cm; body mass, 76.62±9.09 kg; and career, 9.46±0.94 years) within the last 2 years were divided into two groups and participated as subjects. The two groups were evaluated for differences in ankle, knee, and hip joint angle variables, COP range, and velocity components during uchimata. As a result of the study, the EIG group showed smaller values in the knee joint flexion angle at E3 and the hip joint extension angle at E4 during uchimata than the NIG group. In addition, the EIG group showed lower values in the range of motion of the COP and forward movement velocity of the COP in the one-leg support phase than the NIG group.
This study has a purpose on contributing to apprehend safe and right way to stop to the inline skate beginners and to the instructors who teaches line skating on the basis for the result of the kinematical analysis on Heel brake stop movement of the inline skate, focusing on the displacement on COG, angle displacement of ankle joint, angle displacement of knee joint, angle displacement of hip joint, using a 3D image method by DLT. To achieve this goal, we analysed the kinematical factor of the 3 well-trained inline skating instructors and obtained the following results. 1. During the movement of heel-brake stop, when strong power was given to a stable and balanced stop and the lower limbs, if the physical centroid is lowered the stability increases, and if it is placed high from the base surface, as the stability decreases compared to the case of low physical centroid, we should make a stop by placing a physical centroid in the base surface and lowering the hight of physical centroid. 2. To make a stable and balanced stop and to provide a strong power to the lower limbs, it is advisable to make a stop by decreasing an angle displacement of ankle joint during a "down" movement. In case of the left ankle joint, in all events and phases the dorsiflexion angle showed a decrease. Nevertheless, in the case of the right ankle joint, the dorsiflexion angle shows an increase after a slight decrease. The dorsiflexion angle displacement of ankle joint can be diminished because of the brake pad of the rear axis frame of the right side inline skate by raising a toe, but cannot be more decreased if certain degree of an angle is made by a brake pad touching a ground surface. To provide a power to a brake pad, it is recommended to place a power by lowering a posture making the dorsiflexion angle of the left ankle joint relatively smaller than that of the right ankle. 3. To make a stable and balanced stop and to add a power to a brake pad, the power must be given to the lower limbs in lowering the hight of physical centroid. For this, it is recommended to make a down movement by decreasing the flexion angle of a knee joint and it is necessary to make a down movement by a regular decrease of the angle displacement of knee joint rather than a swift down movement in every event and phase. 4. The right angle displacement of hip joint is made by lowering vertically the hight of physical centroid as leaning slightly forward. If too narrow angle displacement of hip joint is made by leaning forward too much, the balance is lost during the stop by placing the center in front. To make a stable and balance stop and to place a strong power to the lower limbs, it is recommendable to make a narrow angle by lower the hip joint angle. However, excessive leaning of the upper body to make the angle too narrow, can cause an instable stop and loss of physical centroid. After this study, it is considered to assist the kinematical understanding during the heel brake stop movement of the inline skate, and, to present basic data in learning a method of stable and balanced stop for the inline skating beginners or for the inline skate instructors in the present situation of the complete absence of the study in inline skating.
This paper describes the possibility of analyzing gait pattern from the variation of the lower leg electrical impedance. This impedance is measured by the four-electrode method. Two current electrodes are applied to the thigh and foot., and two potential electrodes are applied to the lateral aspect, medial aspect, and posterior position of lower leg. We found the optimal electrode position for knee and ankle joint movements based on high correlation coefficient, least interference, and maximum magnitude of impedance change. From such features of the lower leg impedance, it has been made clear that different movement patterns exhibit different impedance patterns and impedance level.

Background: The purpose of this clinical case report is to confirm sacroiliac joint misalignment effects on the gait. Methods: A healthy women volunteered to participate in this case report. Measurement of the subject was performed two categories. One is physical examination of the pelvic by inspection, palpation, movement based tests and pain provocation tests. The other one is gait performance measurement by 3 dimentional motion analysis. Results: Diagnosis by physical examination of the subject was Lt. ilium posterior rotation. Pelvic, hip, knee and ankle in the 3 dimensional kinematic data, the most notable result was the ankle. Conclusion: To confirm the effect of the misalignment of the sacroiliac joint on the gait function, it must be evaluated by integrating the movement to the ankle from the lumbar.
