  • 압전성과 초전성을 나타내는 고분자인 poly(vinylidene fluoride)(PVDF)는 poly(methyl methacrylate), poly(vinyl acetate), 및 Poly(vinyl methyl ketone)(PVMK) 등과 블렌딩하면 혼화성(miscibility)이 있다. 이들 블렌드물들을 용융온도 이상으로 승온시키면 낮은 온도에서는 균일상으로 존재하지만, 온도가 계속 증가하면 상분리되어 LCST(lower critical solution temperature)를 나타낸다[1]. 이러한 승온에 의한 상분리 거동에서 외부전장을 가하면 전기활성 고분자인 PVDF에 영향을 주어 상분리 거동이 변화될 것으로 예산된다.   • For analysis of Xanthene dyes according to the developing solvent and adsorbent was applied to Thin-layer chromatography with silicagel and cellulose plate. Silicagel chromato-plate used were prepared under different condition of activation. Using eight developing solvent, the influence of the condition for activation upon the separation of Xanthene dyes was investigated. The results are shown in Table 3. Methyl ethyl ketone+Acetone+$H_2O$ (10:0.1:0.4) mixture and n-butanol+Ammonia water (4:1) mixture gave clear separation for Xanthene dyes, including Fluorescein, Erythrosine Rhodamin B, Eosine, Rose bengale, phloxine and Acid red those Rf values decrease in the described ordor. Methyl ethyl ketone+Acetone+$H_2O$ (10:0.1:0.4) was applied to two adsorbents which were purchased from different manufactures. The results of Chromatograms are obtained Figure 6.

  • Separation of ethylene from ethane and propylene from propane have been conducted using facilitated olefin transport membrane with SPEEK-Ag (Ag substituted sulfonated poly(ether ether ketone)). SPEEK was prepared by the sulfonation of PEEK using cone. $H_2SO_4$ and the reaction time affected the degree of sulfonation (DS) of the resulting SPEEK. SPEEK-Ag composite membrane was formed by soaking SPEEK in the polyester support into the Ag salt solution. With increasing the concentration of SPEEK in MeOH, the thickness of SPEEK on the polyester increased. The selectivity and the flux of SPEEK-Ag membrane for the separation of ethylene/ethane and propylene/propane were changed by the thickness of SPEEK layer on the top of polyester support. The anion of silver salt also affects the membrane performance.

  • Pervaporation is mainly used to separate liquid mixtures because it exhibits a high selectivity compared with traditional distillation processes and it is known to be an energy saying separation process. Zeolite membranes show better thermal. mechanical, chemical stability than polymer membranes and especially silicalite-1 membrane can effectively separate organic compounds from water because of its high hydrophobicity. In this study, volatile organic compounds of ketone are separated by pervaporation using silicalite-1 membrane. As a feed concentration of acetone and MEK increases, a permeation flux of acetone and MEK increases while a selectivity decreases.

  • Sulfonated ionomer membranes, sulfonated poly(ether ether)ketone (SPEEK)-$AgNO_3$, were prepared and tested for separation of the isoprene/n-pentane mixtures. The facilitated transport membranes showed good selectivity and permeance of isoprene over n-pentane and long-term stability. Depending on various reaction conditions, the degree of sulfonation (DS) of SPEEK was measured by 1H NMR spectroscopy and the performance of the membranes was affected by the DS of SPEEK as a whole. As the DS of SPEEK was increased, the selectivity of isoprene over n-pentane increased and eventually reached a maximum selectivity of 850 ~ 900 and the stability of that was continued more than 100 h.

  • Due to the rising cost of energy, new separation processes based on extraction are becoming more attractive than before. Thus, the need for calculating and predicting liquid-liquid equilibria(LLE) compositions has very much increased. The purpose of this study is to determine the binodal curves, tie line, plait point, distribution and selectivity for the ternary systems of 2-propanol-water with methyl ethyl ketone, methyl isobutyl ketone, ethylacetate, toluene and o-xylene as solvents at $25^{\circ}C$. And those tie line data were used to examine thermodynamic consistency. The experimental tie line data were correlated with NRTL and UNIQUAC models.

  • The volatile compounds of McIntosh apples were separated and identified at the stage of climacteric maximum. 21 compounds were identified from head space method and classes of that were 13 kinds of esters, 6 of alcohols, an aldehyde and a ketone. From simultaneous steam distillation-extraction method, 37 compounds were identified and classes of that were 20 kinds of esters, 14 of alcohols, 2 of aldehydes and a ketone. Esters were the most abundant flavor component in the both methods and next was alcohols.

  • The modelling and optimization of Methyl Ethyl Ketone (MEK)-Cyclohexane (CH) separation process were performed using pressure-swing distillation with a low-high pressure column and a high-low pressure column configuration. The optimization was performed for the number of theoretical stages, and the location of the feed tray of low column and high column to obtain high-purity MEK at the top. The total reboiler heat duty at the low-high pressure column configuration and high-low pressure column configuration were at 11.7667 Mkcal/h and at 10.3484 Mkcal/h, respectively. The results showed that total reboiler heat duty could be reduced to 12.05% using a high-low pressure column configuration.

  • In this study, modeling and optimization works were completed for the separation of 99.9 mol% of methyl ethyl ketone from water through a pressure-swing distillation process since the azeotropic composition varies very sensitively with the change of system pressure. PRO/II with PROVISION release 9.1 was used for the computer simulation and Wilson activity coefficient model was chosen as a modeling equation. A pressure-swing distillation process can be classified into a low-high pressure columns configuration and a high-low pressure columns configuration. In this work, each configurations were optimized for the minimization of steam consumptions, respectively and were compared.

  • In this study, the facilitated transport membranes, poly (ether ether)ketone (SPEEK)-Ag salts layers on top of polycarbonate supports membrane, were prepared and tested for the separation of propylene/propane. SPEEK was synthesised using PEEK and $H_2SO_4$. Experiments were porformed at room temperature and feed pressures up to 30 psig. The SPEEK-Ag salt membranes showed good selectivity for propane over propylene. With increasing the concentration of SPEEK in MeOH, 5~20 wt%, the thickness of SPEEK membrane on the polycarbonate increased. The selectivity and permeance of SPEKK-Ag membrane for propylene/propane were changed by membrane thickness and concentration of Ag salts.
