자기 부상 실습 장치의 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Development of Magnetic Levitation Experiment Kits)

  • 이 논문은 삼척대학교 메카트로닉스 공학부에서 자동제어, 디지털제어, 마이크로 프로세서응용의 실습을 위해 사용되는 자기 부상실습장치의 설계와 제작에 관한 것이다. 이 장치는 MIT 대학의 설계에서 영감을 받아 개발되었으나, MIT의 장치가 아날로그형임에 비해 디지털형으로 개발하였다. 이 실습장치는 아날로그와 디지털 방식으로 동시에 제어하고 모니터할 수 있다. 더구나 부품의 가격은 MIT의 것과 비슷하거나 더 싼 편이다. 그리고 이 장치는 자기 홀 센서나 적외선 센서를 이용하여 제어할 수 있어서 학생들에게는 센서의 사용과 신호처리를 위한 다양한 경험을 얻을 수 있도록 되어있다. 이 설계는 저자들이 제작하여 시험해 보았으며, 학생들에게 실험 프로젝트 형식으로 제공될 것이다. 이 장치는 의도적으로 덜 보상되어지고, 적당한 수준까지만 조립된 상태에서 학생들에게 제공될 것이며, 학생들은 센서신호와 제어기의 성능을 분석한 후 보상기를 설계하고 센서의 신호를 처리할 것이 기대된다.

  • Focusing on the emergence of the basic course in American schools of architecture, in particular Gyorgy Kepes' courses at MIT, this paper studies the transformation of architectural pedagogy during the years after World War II. Kepes centered his architectural pedagogy on the picture plane, which was to function as the primary media for applying the principles of Gestalt psychology, that is the identification of the whole and its parts and the reciprocity between the internal human organism and the outside world. Kepes hence introduced a set of unconventional visual practices that were not readily assimilated to architectural conventions. Paralleling the establishment of the basic course, MIT also formulated a functionalist and spatial pedagogy with its two initial design studios, courses 4.721 and 4.722. These studios shared the notion that architectural design evolved from the inside toward the outside, an idea that took hold not just in the pragmatic environment of MIT's studios but also in conservative academic programs as well as in popular magazines, picture books, and exhibitions for the consumer public. The architectural surface became inseparable from the objects of art, furniture, and design, all of which were to be the generators of space. Hence, during the 1950s, the architectural surface provided a specific locus of intersection between the visual fundamentals of the basic course and the working principles of architectural design. Kepes, however, had by this time become disillusioned with architecture's potential as the medium of unity. Though he maintained the Gestalt logic of identity, he expanded it toward the goal of grander synthesis of society and consciousness freeing himself from the constraints of disciplinary instruction. In the case of Kepes, the mediating role of the picture plane was foregone in a regressive turn toward a primal, innocent, and direct experience.

  • 이 논문에는 미국 MIT에서 복합재료 관련연구를 간략하게 소개하였다. 복합재료 관련 연구는 4개의 학과에서 수행하고 있다. 즉, 기계공학과내의 Laboratory for Manufacturing & Productivity (LMP), 항공우주공학과의 Technology Laboratory for Advanced Composites(TELAC), 토목환경공학과에 있는 구조 및 재료 프로그램 (Structures & Materials Program) 그리고 건축학과 내의 Building Technology Program등에서 수행되고 있다.

Soft X-ray Nano-spectroscopy for Electronic Structures of Transition Metal Oxide Nano-structures

  • In order to develop nano-devices with much lower power consumption for beyond-CMOS applications, the fundamental understanding and precise control of the electronic properties of ultrathin transition metal oxide (TMO) films are strongly required. The metal-insulator transition (MIT) is not only an important issue in solid state physics, but also a useful phenomenon for device applications like switching or memory devices. For potential use in such application, the electronic structures of MIT, observed for TMO nano-structures, have been investigated using a synchrotron radiation angle-resolved photoelectron spectroscopy system combined with a laser molecular beam epitaxy chamber and a scanning photoelectron microscopy system with 70 nm spatial resolution. In this review article, electronic structures revealed by soft X-ray nano-spectroscopy are presented for i) polarity-dependent MIT and thickness-dependent MIT of TMO ultrathin films of $LaAlO_3/SrTiO_3$ and $SrVO_3/SrTiO_3$, respectively, and ii) electric field-induced MIT of TMO nano-structures showing resistance switching behaviors due to interfacial redox reactions and/or filamentary path formation. These electronic structures have been successfully correlated with the electrical properties of nano-structured films and nano-devices.

밑술 담금 방법을 달리한 전통주의 이화학적 특성 (Physicochemical Properties of Traditional Liquor with Different Brewing Method of Mit-sool)

  • The purpose of this research was to appraise physicochemical properties by utilizing different Mit-sool, Juk, Seolgi-tteok, and Godubap, to produce traditional liquor. In all experimental plots, pH and amino acidity tended to increase with duration of fermentation. Titratable acidity displayed a very high number on the second day but then tended to decrease as fermentation progressed. Sugar contents were highest on the fourth day and tended to decrease with time. Alcohol content increased sharply at the initial stage of fermentation and increased gradually. On the 15th day, traditional liquor made with Godubap recorded the highest alcohol content. Common free sugar components were glucose and sorbitol. Common free organic acid components were lactic, succinic, citric, tartaric, malic, and acetic acids. Volatile flavor compounds were six alcohols, five esters, three aldehydes, and two ketones. Regarding overall acceptability in the sensory evaluation, traditional liquor using Seolgi-tteok as Mit-sool scored the highest. Overall, even though different types of Mit-sool had different physicochemical properties, there were no significant differences in volatile flavor compounds or sensory evaluation scores.

  • 天然水中의 微量金屬 Pb와 Zn을 大量의 물로부터 Dithizon-Benzol溶液으로 逆流에 依한 液一液抽出法으로 分離濃縮시켰다. 抽出된 金屬 Dithizonate를 酸性에서 Benzoly-Peroxid로 酸化하여 파괴시킨다음 金屬들의 들어있는 水溶液을 pH8로 하였다. 여기에 $Al_2(SO_4)_3$을 Carrier로 加하고 $H_2S$를 通하여 沈澱시켜, 이 黃化物沈澱을 Membranfilter로 濾過한 後 Gelatine으로 沈澱을 固定시켰다. 이것을 X-線螢光分析한 結果 濃度範圍 2.5∼100p.p.b.에서 pb는 相對標準偏差 9.0%로, Zn은 相對標準偏差 10.3%로 測定되었다.

멜로디 억양 치료에서 실어증 환자의 조음 명료도에 대한 호흡 훈련 효과: 초기 실험 (Effects of breathing training in melodic intonation therapy on articulation intelligibility of aphasics: pilot study)

  • 본 논문에서는 브로카 실어증 환자에 대한 멜로디 억양 치료(Melodic Intonation Therapy, MIT)에서 호흡훈련이 조음 명료도를 개선하는지를 평가했다. 실험군은 MIT에 선행하는 2단계 호흡 훈련을 받도록 했다. 중재 효과를 평가하기 위해, 피실험자의 폐쇄음의 폐쇄 길이(VOT), 단어 전체의 발화 길이(TD), 음성 강도 및 호기량을 중재 전과 후에 측정하여 비교 했다. 실험 결과 폐쇄음의 폐쇄 길이 및 단어 전체의 발화 길이는 양순음/p/, 치조음/t/, 연구개음/k/에서 증가했으나(p < 0.05) 파찰음/c/와 마찰음/s/은 변화가 없는 것으로 나타났다(p > 0.05). 반면 대조군에서는 폐쇄음의 폐쇄 길이 및 단어 전체의 발화 길이가 증가하지 않는 것으로 나타났다(p > 0.05). 조음 명료도에 영향을 주는 호기량과 음성 강도는 실험군에서 증가했으나(p < 0.01) 대조군에서는 유의한 변화가 없었다. 결론적으로, 브로카 실어증 환자의 MIT에서 호흡 훈련은 환자의 조음 명료도를 개선하고 있음을 확인할 수 있었다.

  • A robust new algorithm for R wave detection named for Multiscale-based Peak Detection(MSPD) is assessed in this paper using MIT/BIH Arrhythmia Database. MSPD algorithm is based on a matrix composed of local maximum and find R peaks using result of standard deviation in the matrix. Furthermore, By reducing needless procedure of proposed algorithm, improve algorithm ability to detect R peak efficiently. And algorithm performance is assessed according to detection rates about various arrhythmia database.

Screening and detection of methylisothiazolinone and chloromethylisothiazolinone in cosmetics by UPLC-MS/MS

  • Methylisothiazolinone (MIT) and chloromethylisothiazolinone (CMIT) cause allergic contact dermatitis and are banned cosmetics ingredients, except in rinse-off products. However, their presence has been detected in cosmetics. We report a UPLC-tandem MS/MS screening method for their simultaneous determination in cosmetics. To facilitate extraction from various matrices, pretreatment methods were developed for each sample type. The method was optimized through a series of assessments, including specificity, LOD, LOQ, linearity, recovery, stability, precision, and accuracy. The LODs and LOQs for MIT ranged from 0.054 and 0.163 ㎍ mL-1 whereas those for CMIT ranged from 0.040 and 0.119 ㎍ mL-1. The linear correlation coefficients (r2) were higher than 0.999. Relative standard deviations (RSDs) for both intra- and inter-day measurements ranged from 0.3 ~ 13.6 %. Recoveries at three different concentrations were within 87.9 ~ 118.9 %. The RSD for stability measurements of spiked samples was within 7 %. These results confirm the suitability of the developed method for the simultaneous quantitation of MIT and CMIT in cosmetics. Samples of 320 color cosmetics, including eyeshadows, solid lipsticks, liquid lipsticks, and nail polishes were analyzed using the developed method, and two of them were found to contain both MIT and CMIT and one of them was found to contain only MIT. This data and the method will aid the regulation of ingredients used in cosmetics.

기계적 충격기술을 적용한 멥쌀 경단의 규격 표준화 및 품질특성에 대한 연구 (Study on the Standardization and Physicochemical Property for Non-waxy Gyungdan Adapted with Mechanically Impacting Technology)

  • The present study was conducted to supply more scientific information for standardization of preparation method of Gyungdan and to determine the standard for manufacturing procedure adapted with mechanically impacting technology (MIT) for mass production. The optimum preparation condition for non-waxy Gyungdan adapted with MIT was 35% of water, 0.5% of wheat flour (w/w of soaked rice), and mechanically impacting for 10 min at 450 rpm. In the present study, standardization of manufacturing procedure for merchandizing of Gyungdan was established with width, weight, and height. Average of Gyungdan adapted with MIT at 90 rpm (stuffing speed) and 46.58 Herz (cutting speed) is 18.3 g of weight, 28.4 mm of height, and 32.4 mm of width. Hardness, as a main parameter of texture profile, of Gyungdan was maintained lower than 100 g up to 3 days at the storage of $20^{\circ}C$ and up to 70 days at the storage of $-20^{\circ}C$. And, it was performed to develop rice cake as meal-replacement adapted with MIT and sub-ingredients such as strawberry, pumpkin, and mugwort. Gyungdan prepared under controlling manufacturing condition of MIT was supplemented with 0-1.6% of sub-ingredients, respectively. In sensory tests, the best substitute ratios of strawberry, pumpkin, and mugwort were 1.6%, 0.8%, and 1.6%, respectively. With the results above, not-harden Gyungdan supplemented with sub-ingredients and various stuffs can be expected to application for wheat-substitute meal-replacement.
