Damage Analysis of Turbopump Turbine considering Creep-Fatigue effects (크리프-피로 영향을 고려한 터보펌프 터빈의 손상해석)

  • Structures under high temperature may have creep behavior and fatigue behavior. Durability study of the structures need the damage analysis with the creep-fatigue effects. In this paper, the damage analysis is studied for a turbine blade in the turbopump for a liquid rocket engine which is operated under high temperature condition. First of all, the load cycle is required for defining the operational characteristics of turbopump. The thermal stress analysis is done for a turbine blade of the turbopump. The stress analysis results are used to judge damage due to the creep and the fatigue. The strain-life method with miner rule is used for fatigue damage analysis. The Larson-Miller parameter master curve and robinson rule are used for the creep damage analysis. The linear damage summation method is used to consider creep-fatigue effects of turbopump turbine. Finally, the analysis results for fatigue and the influence are compared to figure out the damage phenomenon of the turbopump turbine.

  • Triangulation is a typical method to locate or identify the location, which requires inherently at least three pre-recognized reference points. In some cases, owing to out of reachability to communication facility the target node can not reachable always to three base stations. This paper presents a predictive method, which can estimate the location of the moving target node in real time even though the target could not get in touch with all three base stations. The method is based on the PID-controlled Moving Objects Spatio-Temporal Model Algorithm. This can predict the moving direction of the moving target, and then combine with the past target position information to judge accurately the location.

A Study on the Sensory Evaluation of Appearance and Fit for Basic Apparel Patterns (의복원형의 외관과 맞음새를 위한 관능평가 방법에 대한 연구)

  • The objective of this study is to analyze the images of basic bodice apparel displayed on the PC monitor connected to digital camera, and to suggest a more efficient alternative method that enables the expert judge to evaluate the subject both traditional method and displayed images on the computer. Appearance evaluation has traditionally been assessed using subjective method dependent upon expertjudges' senses with the naked eye after direct observation of a living model. This research faces the new challenge focusing on the sensory evaluation of appearance for basic apparel patterns, which can overcome the space and time limitations of the traditional feet methods. A total fifteen basic bodice garment (3 types of $pattern\;{\times}\;5$ subject) were constructed with same fabrics. The appearance evaluation items consist of lg questions of upper torso. The image takes font, back and side view of the dressed subject with three different situations. Data was analyzed using percentiles, standard deviation T-test and ANOVA. Taken together, the present result of appearance evaluation through digital camera image shows that there is a significant difference ($p{\leq}.001$) in the response to the placement of the neckline, the waist & shoulder dart, the general ease of the bust & waist area, the side seam, the perpendicular of the waist hem and general acceptability between the above three different situations; the image in the condition of greenish yellow background with front light showed the highest score through all questions. These results depend on the kind of background colors with the light.

Elemental Analysis of Coal by Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (誘導結合플라스마 質量分析法에 의한 石炭의 元素 分析)

  • A simple, fast yet sensitive method is described for the determination of fifty elements in coal by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry. The method involves complete dissolution of coal with mixed acid $(HNO_3, HF, HClO_4)$ in hish pressure Teflon bomb and subsequent inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometric(ICP-MS) measurement. The accuracy of the method, being evaluated by the analysis of NIST SRMs (1632a, 1632b) is better than 20% RSD for most elements. The limits of detection defined by two times $\sigma$ (standard deviation of operational blank) are in order of sub-ppm to ppm, which are low enough to quantitate most elements. However, the determiantions for few elements such as V, As, Se are severely interfered by molecular ions such that their accurate determiantions are not possible. Analytical results for twentyon coals from eight countries including six ones world major coal producing, Korea, Japan, China, I.C.S., U.S.A., Canada, Australia, and South Africa are presented. While the results for major elements agree well with the existing ones, those for a few trace elements disagree considerably. The existing values are considerably higher. It is not possible to judge which are more accurate. However, the exisisting values are more likely to be errorous inasmuch as they are obtained without using high purity reagents and clean laboratory techniques.

  • Design-Build, one contractor is responsible for both the design and construction, has become more popular since the government framed the policy on how to activate the design-build projects in 1996. The reality is, however, there are many problems encounted on Contractor Selection Method for Public Design-Build Projects. The purpose of this paper is to improve the problems, no way to meet the goal(value) the owners expect from the design-build projects, for instance, not fully reflecting the characteristics of projects and owners intention, not systematical enough to judge if bidders could carry out the contract. This study will insist we introduce Best Value Procurement, which is being commonly used in some advanced countries recently, so that we would properly select the contractor suitable for Best Value concept which totally depends on the owners, types of work and specified conditions. Furthermore, by passing through the Two-Step Procedures following Pre-qualification in Best Value Procurement, we expect it lighten the bidders' burden for proposal and the owners' complicate bid administration.

  • In this paper, we propose to a method to estimate the elasto-plastic buckling for single layer latticed domes. First, we assume that each member consists of the rigid zone and elastic spring at both end joint, the elastic element and three elasto-plastic spring to judge for yeilding the member. Next, the member which has most influence on buckling for structures is determined by a distributed pattern of the strain energy which is calculated through linear eigenvalue analysis. And then, normalized slenderness ratio of the element is derived considering the axial force at elastic buckling load. Later, we execute elasto-plastic nonlinear analysis that based on loading increasement method and displacement increasement method. From this results, we discusses the effect of the joint rigidity and the half open angle $\theta$$_{0}$ on the buckling strength of single layer lattice domes ; (1) how the joint rigidity contributes to the reduction of buckling loads, (2) how the reduction can be interrelated to compressive strength curves in terms of the generalized slenderness for the member most relevant to the overall buckling of domes.s.

  • The temperature and soot of the visualized diesel engine's turbulent flow of flame was qualitatively measured. In combustion chamber, in order to judge the affect that the swirl has on the in-cylinder's current, was used two different heads with different values. Using the high speed camera, and the results were analyzed using the heat release rate produced by the pressure sensor. In order to measure the temperature and soot of the turbulent flames like that of the diesel flames two color methods were used temperature and the soot of the flames according to the conditions through analyzing the two wavelengths of the flames. It was possible to measure the highest temperature of the non-swirl head visualized engine which is approximately 2400K, and that swirl head engine managed up to 2100K. With respect to the visualized diesel engine soot, we got the grasp of the KL factor which bears the qualitative information of soot. This study is dedicated to suggesting the possibility of measuring not only the temperature but also soot of the diffusion flame of the diesel engine turbulent flames through such method.

  • Currently, partial discharge diagnosis in the field of prevention applied technology and diagnostic equipment is a possible strong limit to remove the noise generated by external or internal I still have one unreliable diagnosis. This technology is the noise removal from signal the time lag analysis algorithms technique is applied by a fundamental. Increasing the reliability in terms of technology spectrum frequence of analysis method for by applying the acquisition through the position of the frequency content and sources of traffic lights partial discharge of the acquisition of signal analysis to judge whether a way diagnosis the environment of the scene, and conditions. Partial discharge signal and make the discharge while building blocks were found through the Analysis. Spectrum frequence of Analysis and wide discharge part, to be more precise, in line with the various functions, including the analysis technique band. Diagnosis and comes up with advanced technology that can detect the presence of a position. This method is portable single device developed for maintenance and mobility and ease and convenience of getting caught by discharge of the pattern analysis and position detection method suitable for a new diagnosis will suggest.

A Protection Method using Destination Address Packet Sampling for SYN Flooding Attack in SDN Environments (SDN 환경에서의 목적지 주소별 패킷 샘플링을 이용한 SYN Flooding 공격 방어기법)

  • SDN(Software Defined Networking) has been considered as a new future computer network architecture and DDoS(Distributed Denial of Service) is the biggest threat in the network security. In SDN architecture, we present the technique to defend the DDoS SYN Flooding attack that is one of the DDoS attack method. First, we monitor the Backlog queue in order to reduce the unnecessary monitoring resources. If the Backlog queue of the certain server is occupied over 70%, the sFlow performs packet sampling with the server address as the destination address. To distinguish between the attacker and the normal user, we use the source address. We decide the SYN packet threshold using the remaining Backlog queue that possible to allow the number of connections. If certain sources address send the SYN packet over the threshold, we judge that this address is attacker. The controller will modify the flow table entry to block attack traffics. By using this method, we reduce the resource consumption about the unnecessary monitoring and the protection range is expanded to all switches. The result achieved from our experiment show that we can prevent the SYN Flooding attack before the Backlog queue is fully occupied.
