A study on developing domestic law classification scheme (법률학 전문분류표 창안을 위한 국내법체계 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a new domestic (national) law classification scheme with universality. An underlying reason for the development of this scheme reset upon the fact that Civil law system, Common law system, Socialistic law system have had difficulties each other and that current classification scheme covering three law systems have not been still in existence. From the comparative discussion of classification schemes that are the representative of each law system, a new national law classification scheme with universality was designed. If law classification scheme have been completeness, this new scheme must be combined with jurisprudence and international law classification scheme which was developed already.

  • The purpose of this study is to provide a plan of classification scheme to efficiently manage the collected cultural resource in Asian Culture Information Agency (ACIA) of Asian Culture Complex. The characteristic and category of the cultural resources are identified after studying objectives and acquisition policies of ACIA. This paper in here compares classification schemes such as HRAF scheme, UNESCO cultural framework, Folklore Archive scheme, and classification scheme of Academy of Korean Studies. On the basis of it, this study proposes the principle and criterion of the new classification scheme in ACIA. The new classification scheme is classified as the cultural, social, and natural area in sequence. The number of main classes is set up 16 items.

  • This study is to aim on the theory of document classification system and historical development of official document classification scheme since Chosun dynasty to Republic of Korea. We have been new version of classification scheme 'Document Classification Standard' is scheduled in 2004, though there are many fundamental problems in governmental agencies and record centers. Thus new 'Document Classification Standard' should be make discussion and inquire.

  • To share knowledge efficiently among our members on the basis of knowledge management system, first of all, we need to systematically design the knowledge classification scheme that we can classify these knowledge well. The objective of this study is to construct the most suitable knowledge classification scheme that all of us can share them in Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute (KAERI). To construct the knowledge classification scheme all over the our organization, we established a few principles to design it and examined related many classification schemes. And I carried out 3 steps to complete the best desirable KAERI's knowledge classification scheme, that is, (1) the step to design a draft of the knowledge classification scheme, (2) the step to revise a draft of the knowledge classification scheme, (3) the step to verify the revised scheme and to decide its scheme. The scheme completed as a results of this study is consisted of total 218 items : sections of 8 items, classes of 43 items and sub-classes of 167 items. I expect that the knowledge classification scheme designed as the results of this study can be played an important role as the frame to efficiently share knowledge among our members when we introduce knowledge management system in our organization. In addition, I expect that steps to design its scheme as well as this scheme itself can be applied when design a knowledge classification scheme at the other R&D institutes and enterprises.

  • This paper proposes a classification model for systematical management of resources in educational repositories. A classification scheme should be provided to systematically store and manage, precisely retrieve, and maximize the usability of the resources. However, there is little research result on the classification scheme and classification model for educational repository resources. It causes several issues such as inefficient management of educational resources, incorrect retrieval, and low usability. However, there are different characteristics between the educational resource information and information of the previous fields. Therefore, a novel research on the classification scheme and classification model for the resources in educational repositories is required. To achieve the goal for efficient and easy use of the educational resources, we should manage consistently the resources according to the classification scheme accepting several views. This paper proposes a classification model to systematically manage and increase the usability of the educational resources. In other words, the proposed classification model can manages dynamically the classification scheme for the resources in educational repositories according to various views. To achieve the objectives, we first define a proper classification scheme for the implementation resources based on the classification scheme in relevant scientific technology fields. Especially, we define a novel classification model to dynamically manage the defined classification scheme. The proposed classification scheme and classification model enable more precise and systematic management of implementation resources and also increase the ease of usability.

  • Four Category Classification Scheme(四部分類法), the traditional classification, is the most proper for classifying the traditional oriental marerials than some other classifications. Therefore, Four Category Classification Scheme has been valuable until now. It is obvious that this classificion aims at a rapid and accurate reference in sorting out the materials and maximun use. This paper is intended as a sludy which helps librarians to classify traditional oriental materials. It is also intended to serve librarians to have easy access to ancient literatures which have been filed among various traditional bibliographies for those who are to research oriental materials as an analysis about Miscelleneous Part(子部). The outline of this study are as follows : (1) Examining closely origins, developing process and characteristics of classification of Miscelleneous Part of Four Category Classification Scheme. (2) Explaining the content of division and section of Miscelleneous Part (子部). (3) Coordinating relations of division and section of Miscelleneous Part as well as those of other parts of the classification scheme. (4) Clearing up the limitation of classification related to other division. (5) Attempting to give basic knowledge on practical classification as concrete examples belonging to each division and section of classification.

  • Internet traffic has rapidly increased due to the supplying wireless devices and the appearance of various applications and services. By increasing internet traffic rapidly, the need of Internet traffic classification becomes important for the effective use of network resource. However, the traffic classification scheme is not much studied comparing to the study for classification method. This paper proposes novel classification scheme for multilateral and hierarchical traffic identification. The proposed scheme can support multilateral identification with 4 classification criteria such as service, application, protocol, and function. In addition, the proposed scheme can support hierarchical analysis based on roll-up and drill-down operation. We prove the applicability and advantages of the proposed scheme by applying it to real campus network traffic.

Developing a Faceted Classification Scheme Integrated with a Thesaurus for Literature (시소러스를 연계한 문학류 패싯 분류체계 개발)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a faceted classification scheme linked with a thesaurus(FCT) to more effectively organize documents according to subject, by transforming the current Korean Decimal Classification system(KDC) into a faceted classification scheme and linking it with Korea’s National Library Subject Headings. This combination should represent complex subjects more clearly, allow users to change citation order, and facilitate the addition of new subjects to the KDC scheme. Furthermore, by linking a thesaurus to the classification scheme, it is possible to share facets and expand the conceptual level of headings through the thesaurus descriptors.

An Analysis of Korean Children's Libraries and Their Classification Scheme (국내 어린이도서관의 현황 및 분류표 적용 분석)

  • The paper analyzes local children's libraries' status of application of classification scheme and problems and difficulties in its application in order to be used as basic material for development of classification scheme for exclusive use of children's libraries. Through survey, the paper researched 96 local children's libraries, and the results showed that KDC-applied libraries numbered 53 and were the highest, libraries which developed their own classification scheme numbered 22, and libraries which applied classification scheme for children's library numbered 13. Further, many asserted that there needs to be a development of standard classification scheme to be used in children's library. On problems and difficulties in applying classification scheme, notes such as difficulty of accommodating various forms of children's books(such as comic books and picture books), placing too much emphasis on collection of books on certain topic, and lack of topic categories appropriate for characteristics of collected books were voiced, and by holding additional discussion on these, the paper raised the usefulness of the dissertation to be used as basic materials for developing classification scheme for exclusive use of children's library in the future.

  • Systemetic classification of a technology is critical to the development of technology strategy. This paper suggests a new technology classification scheme for computer and communication : a two-level scheme. Technology is first classified by its role and function in the upper level which forms a 2 * 2 matrix. The technology is then further classified into the lower level of 3 classes by associations among technology elements. Thus, a new classification scheme of 2 * 2 * 3 matrix is proposed for the computer and communication technology.
